[2E] Wading Heron Style

The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment
I have an idea for a new animal-based MA style: Wading Heron

I only have scattered notes ATM, but I'd like to come up with about 10 Charms eventually.

I'm not sure wether to make this Terrestrial or Celestial. I guess it will depend on how powerful it feels once it's complete.

The style is going to be geared towards assassins and clandestine killers, with a focus on stealth, patience, and opportunity. As such, it will be fairly weak on defense.

The signature weapons are spears and dire lances, which mimic the swift, powerful thrusting motion of a heron's beak.

Charm effects I've thought of so far:

  • A Charm which allows the martial artist to stand perfectly still, not even batting so much as an eyelash, for long periods of time. In this state, his senses are heightened.
  • Standard "lethal unarmed attacks and parries" effect
  • A Charm which expands the Aim mechanic, either allowing the martial artist to Aim for longer than 3 ticks, increasing the accuracy bonus, or both. This will probably be the Form.
  • A Charm which either allows the martial artist to attack from surprise, pre-empt another character's action, or both.

I'd love some feedback at this point, especially any factoids or anecdotes about herons and their hunting techniques.

You could do a premeptive disarm charm the heron strikes taking the opponents weapon away.

  • Unarmed piercing attacks?
  • Massive social defense bonus when staying still?
  • Something (or several somethings) that uses the bonus from aiming for something in addition to its normal benefit, such as reducing soak (or worse, hardness)?
  • Something that avoids penalties for movement, combat and stealth when in waist deep water?

Also, check this

A Charm that gives the user only half-movement rate but makes their Stealth almost perfect, representing the heron while hunting in a pool of water.

~FC.

"Herons were named among the most intelligent birds based on this scale, reflecting a wide variety, flexibility and adaptiveness to acquire food."

Also they are known to hang around water, although a few herons actually can do either.

Also, what type of Heron, there are a ton of different types each with their own characteristic
