1x1 Vampire and Slave Rp

WolfOfProphecys

Ten Thousand Club
Vampires dominate the world as the noble upperclass, and the humans make up the working class, and are essentially the vampires' cattle. The human blood slaves are human rebels caught by the vampire nobles, who are then chosen by the vampire to become their blood slave, rather than facing execution.

(Ignore the wings...)

Anthony 'Tony' Holmes

Age:
19

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Personality:

Tony has always been a quiet and lonely boy since he was young. His eyes, the reminder of a accident as a child, would freak out other children, leaving Tony alone to play by himself. This led to Tony being a loner in later life, as he still is now. He is self-concious about his golden eyes, and doesn't like it when people comment on them, as said comments are usually dark and horrible.

When the vampires began to capture humans Tony joined the rebels, though didn't want to kill, only participating in rescuing other humans from the vampires. He would always stay silent and emotionally detached from the others

History:

Before the vampire problem, Tony lived happily with his mother and father. However, one day his parents were killed in a car crash (The same accident that made Tonys eye colour change) and Tony was left alone. He was taken in by a drunken man and his wife.

The man would abuse Tony, and his wife would watch without a care in the world. When the vampires began collecting humans Tony ran away to join the rebels

Lorel Nightingale

Age:
112

Gender:
Female

Species:
Vampire

Personality:
Daughter to the reigning Lord of her settlement, she was raised to be every bit the refined noblewoman. Outwardly, she presents herself as restrained, level-headed, and holds herself with elegant confidence. She is criticised by others for being cold, apathetic, and arrogant. As a vampire, of course, there were other expectations of her. She has a flawless work ethic, and is the most capable fighter of her generation

Of course, the perfection is just an act, as perfection always is. Below the regal noble lady persona, Lorel is in fact quite the opinionated and conflicted individual. She often gets caught up in her own thoughts, and is somewhat introverted if you get to know her, opening up to few. When she lets her guard down, she is quiet, open-minded, and possesses surprising gravitas in a way completely different to her public behaviour, despite being quite socially awkward when being personal. She is clearly smart, but at the same time struggles morally, and also philosophically.

Raised to see humans as nothing more than a food source, she is in theory very dismissive of their value as people. When confronted with them in reality, however, she tends to have a softer, more sympathetic approach; although of course she'd never let her father see this side.

History: From the age of six she was trained in all sorts of fighting techniques, and by twenty she became an apprentice to an assassin; a line of work her father highly approved of. She has since gone on to become one of the most notable assassins in the region, and is well sought-after. Her father permits her occasional leave to carry out her work, but more often than not requests she stays so that she may work for him in this regard.

She becomes very focused whilst working, and has no moral qualms whilst on a job, but when between targets she can be more critical of her occupation.

Her mother is a strict woman, and is largely responsible for how well trained Lorel is in proper etiquette and behaviour. The two do not get on well, but are never open about their distaste for one another.

Lorel was the one to bring down the human rebel leader, and orchestrated the capturing of the humans. Despite this, she has had little contact with the human rebels themselves.

"Now remember, what are you going to do this evening?" Lorel's mother, Lilith, asked as she pulled a brush through her daughter's hair.

"Keep quiet, and say nothing unless spoken to," Lorel answered flatly. She'd been drilled with this information since birth, and quite frankly it was becoming dull. She could well brush her own hair, only her mother seemed to take a sick sort of pleasure out of controlling her this way. If she ever tried to do it herself, all she would get was snipped insults and backhanded compliments about her appearance all evening. It was less effort to simply let her mother have her way.

"Exactly. Your work on the human rebel matter is done. Now it is up to your father to pass judgement on them. As his daughter and a lady, you are to support his decisions. Understood?"

"Yes mother," Lorel said quietly, dropping her eyes to her hands, which lay folded in her lap.

Her mind drifted as her mother tended to her hair, thinking over the capture of the humans. Lorel's plan had been carried off with remarkable ease, and killing the rebel leader had been like battling an infant. Now the prisoners lay in wait for their trial somewhere in the cells below the castle, most likely to be sentenced to death in just a few short hours. It seemed strange how so much energy and passion could be quelled and then silenced for good in such a short period of time.

"Dress yourself," her mother instructed, setting the hairbrush down on the dresser. She took her daughter's head in her hands and turned it this way and that, inspecting her handiwork in the mirror. Lilith's nose scrunched up in response, and then she turned and went to the door. "I'm going to ensure that the prisoners are being retrieved." She gave her daughter a small, cold smile. "And make sure you don't embarrass yourself tonight, darling." With that, she left.

Tony was in a cell separately, his team of rebels watching their leader. He had been the previous leaders second-in-command and thus, when the previous leader was slaughtered, Tony was pushed into the leader position, thus explaining the separate cell. He had never wanting to be second-in-command, let alone leader, but the rebels had all agreed that Tony was the only one there who could lead them correctly in battle if something would ever go wrong.

Clearly they had been wrong, seeing as they were all now in cages. However, they were all silent, having taken Tonys order to not say a word to the vampires, which meant not talking when they were around in case they said something that would get them killed on the spot. His rebels were all sat around, in cages of 5, and were all conversing with each other silently, using signals with their hands that all the rebels understood.

Tony turned his head to the door as guards walked in, in order to retrieve them.

Following her mother's instructions, Lorel proceeded to pick out a suitable dress for the evening, dress herself, and then check herself over in the mirror. Jewellery had never really been her thing; it had a tendency to get in the way, and rather ironically, she didn't like things touching her neck. Still, despite being under varnished in jewels and gold, she thought she looked respectable enough, and thus left her room behind.

She was due at the great hall in over half an hour, having finished early. There she'd be expected to make polite conversation until the trial began and the prisoners were brought in. Whilst she could go and help set up, she had more colourful plans on her mind.

Perhaps she was letting curiosity get the best of her, but she'd never actually met human rebels before. The only humans she had been acquainted with were the disciplined kitchen humans, the polar opposites of a clan of freedom fighters. Given her father's preference that she remain within the castle grounds, it was probably an opportunity she'd never get again. She had to investigate.

Before the trial began, the humans would be kept in holding, a half way point between the dungeons and the great hall. Having grown up in the castle, Lorel knew well all of the hidden passages, concealed stairwells, and back entrances for servants who were supposed to go unseen. It was with ease that she navigated around the guards positioned outside of the holding room, finding her way through a back passage to the upper-floor balcony which encircled the holding room, allowing her to look down upon the prisoners whilst still standing a chance of remaining unseen.

Tony, who was again stood alone, whilst his group stood together, again conversing in code. He watched the guards, freaky golden eyes narrowed. He walked up to the bars, and grabbed a close guard by the neck, "Let. Us. Out" He snarled. He wouldn't usually act like this, but the rebels, who were watching him closely in surprise, were under his leadership, and thus his protection, meaning he'd do whatever he could to get them free and to a safe haven. He stared at the guard impatiently, awaiting an answer as his grip on said vampires collar tightened

Leant against a pillar on the upstairs balcony, shrouded in shadow, Lorel couldn't help grinning as the human grabbed the guard. The guard clearly had underestimated the humans, because his expression was truly priceless, almost constipated. Still, he was guard, and it really wouldn't do if he let the humans out; that would be a mess Lorel would no doubt have to clean up.

Slipping over the balcony ledge, Lorel dropped down to the first floor, the one on which the prisoners were kept. Reaching under the slit in her dress, she slipped out a knife she kept strapped to her thigh, and then approached the human who had grabbed the guard. "I'd advise you let him go, unless you wish to lose a hand." Then her eyes flickered over to the guard, who was staring at her in both confusion and disbelief. "And as for you, not a word of my prescense here to my father. I doubt he'll be thrilled to hear how one of his elite guards managed to let themselves be captured by an imprisoned human."

Tony watched her and the guard, eyes glancing to the knife before he pulled back, watching the two wearily. He frowned at her, knowing her to be a vampire, everyone outside this cage seemed to be one. He chuckled as she basically blackmailed the spooked guard, of which his group seemed to join in with, slowly getting louder until Tony made a hand signal meaning 'quiet' behind his back, and they went silent. He didn't speak, not wanting to be killed now. He'd be no use to the rebels then, and Tony had no second in command, as no one would take the place. The rebels would then likely be lead like pigs to slaughter, and he couldn't let that happen. Again behind his back he signed Don't talk. It'll only make things worse He told them, the signs meaning nonsense to the vampires. Immediately Tonys group backed up, whilst their leader stayed close to the bars

Watching the guard scurry out, Lorel smiled faintly, and then returned her gaze to the human rebels. She looked them over as a whole first, noting how raucous they could be, how loud. It was refreshing in ways, in comparison to the uptight restraint of the vampire court. Then the man who was separated from the others started signalling to them, and to his credit, he tried to be subtle about it. Had Lorel not had so much experience in the field of assassinations, she probably wouldn't have spotted it, but as things were, she was more than familiar with silent hand signalling.

"You're hardly going to get in trouble for telling them to shut up out loud," she said dryly, raising an eyebrow at him. "Or more, get in any more trouble." She glanced over at the other cages, where many of the humans were contained, and then with some caution approached the leader's, careful to keep her distance. "You're their leader now?"

Tony sighed, knowing he hadn't clearly fooled everyone, but clearly the guard hadn't noticed. He watched her, then signalled Talk quietly in code To the others, and they resumed what they had been doing. He looked at her, golden eyes gleaming like liquid in the dim light, "I was second-in-command. When our leader was killed I was pushed into the position" He replied shortly, watching her with a dim hate in his eyes. He huffed, and turned, "Didn't know Vamps cared about anyone except themselves" He stated, gesturing to the guard

Arching an eyebrow at how he huffed at her, Lorel had to suppress a smile. She'd heard that humans could be... petulant, but she'd never expected it to be quite so entertaining. "Cared might be a bit of a strong word. Curious would be more suitable." She glanced over at the guard, who was clearly trying to pretend that he wasn't listen, whilst not being at all subtle about it. Sighing, wishing she could speak freely for once, she resisted rolling her eyes and took another step closer, studying the leader's body language and mannerisms, keen to learn as much as she could from this slim window of opportunity.

"Why do you rebel?" She asked, glancing briefly at the other humans as they spoke quietly. "It should be obvious by now that you can't win, so why do it?"

Tony raised an eyebrow at her, "How would you like it if a race more powerful than you suddenly decided to push you off a hierarchy and make you the rats of the world?" He asked, "If you were us you would of done the same" He continued, not truly telling her why they rebelled or why they still were, even stuck in cages and facing death. His usual lack of confidence was hid behind a unusual confidence that he seemed to of found

"The rest of humanity copes well enough," Lorel pointed out, watching him closely. She couldn't quite place what it was about him that kept her talking, she just found him interesting, for lack of a better term. Perhaps it was because he was the only free human she had ever met; his novelty made him a curiosity. "Besides, we're taught that your species if biologically designed to be subservient. We're the predators, you're the prey. The way mother nature seems to see it, we're supposed to be at the top of the hierarchy."

Before he could respond, however, the guard leaned round the corner and said in a rushed whisper, "M'lady, I believe the trial is starting in a few minutes. You may wish to go ahead before I bring the humans through..."

"Thank you, Andrew," Lorel said quickly. She gave the human once last look over before taking a step back, and then retreating back out of the front entrance, giving the guard a grateful nod on her way.

Tony rolled his eyes and called after her, "You freaks think you're so great! You idiotic BLOODSUCKERS!" He yelled as she disappeared, making sure she heard the anger in his voice. Once she was gone however he calmed almost instantly, and glared at the guards as manacles were attached to his hands, and the chain was held by a hard. The others however, were also manacled, by attached with chains, making Tony feel uneasy. Would they make him represent his people?

Exiting to the shouts of the human leader, Lorel smiled at first, then the expression dropped. She didn't... she didn't sympathise with the humans, and she knew her place in the world. It was just that during moments of weakness, she shared similar thoughts to his speech. What if that was all her race was? Mindless bloodsuckers, putting up the pretence of being civilised. A word that had always bothered her was humane. Did being vampires dictate that they must be inhumane?

Shaking her head, she cleared her mind of such thoughts. She had a trial to focus on, and a mother to please. God forbid she displease mother dearest.

The smile completely demolished, she proceeded to the trial with a scowl on her face, smoothing it only as she entered through the doors. She knew at once that her absence had been noted, her mother's lips pursed, her father giving her a brief glance before looking away, unsmiling. Great. This evening could not be going any better.

Still, it was easy enough to function on automatic amongst the repetitive socialising that passed for making conversation amongst the nobility here. She managed to avoid further humiliation before her father clapped his hands together and called for his guests to be seated. Raising a hand, he motioned for the guards to bring the humans in.

Tony and the rebels were dragged along, and made to stand silently behind the doors of the room until called for. Tony himself, being dragged by a separate guard, looked over his shoulder and gave the rebels a assuring nod, before he was pulled forward suddenly as the doors opened and he was lead into the room. Instantly his worry was replaced with hate and fury, and he actually growled at Lorels father, sending glares around the room at everyone else. His rebels followed slower, each having to wait for the one at the front to move before they did, as they were chained together

Seated in a wooden throne at the head of the hall, Lorel's father presided over the matter. Pews had been set up either side of his chair as a make shift court room like set up. Lorel had her own separate chair to his left hand side, and her mother sat on his right. They all watched together as the humans were led in, although after scanning the assembly Lorel's focus returned to their leader. His behaviour was hardly refined, and far from proper. The small smile returned to her once again.

"Charge?" Lorel's father inquired. He was leant against one arm of the chair, and he seemed relatively disinterested in the human rebels. Lorel thought of him as a good leader, with excellent military tactical knowledge, but he'd always been less structured in patience, especially when it came to humans. They hadn't had a trial like this in decades, and it seemed that absence had failed to let him grow fonder of the arrangement.

"Multiple accounts of mutiny, assault, attempted murder, and robbery, all against vampires. They are a known group of human vigilantes and revolutionaries," the guard who led them called out, once he had brought the prisoners to a halt.

"And which one among you goes by the role of your leader?" Lorel's father asked of the humans, looking them over with a calculating gaze.

Tony only grinned coldly at the list, and a few of his rebels chuckled. God they had the list wrong, "Mate, you forgot actual murder, Torture and Arson. Don't put us down for less" He chuckled, much to the amusement of his rebels, "Surely we're worth more than that?" He continued, golden eyes gleaming in a mischievous way. One of the guards turned and punched him in the gut to quieten, making Tony double over. However, the human only started to cackle like a maniac, to which his rebels joined in. They'd been imprisoned before, facing death but hey, they were still here

Leaning forward, Lorel's father looked over the prisoners. He was wearing a dry smile, and perhaps to the prisoners he appeared amused. Lorel had seen that expression many times before, however, and knew what came next.

Looking to the prisoners, she couldn't help but experience a pang of disappointment. She'd been fond of their antics, of how very different they were from the company she was used to. It seemed a waste to lose them so quickly.

"It's good to take pride in your work," her father said softly, his eyes cold. "Makes you loyal to it. Dedicated. Valiant, even." He leant back in his chair and exhaled. "Which is why you are all useless to me. Your ways are set, your paths chosen." He gestured to one of the guards stood by the doors. "Bring in the executioner. They are all to be sentenced to death. Do it here, and do it quickly. There's no point in wasting time on humans like these."

Tony immediately stepped forward and, even when he was tugged back by a guard, turned and punched him with his chained wrists, striding up to Lorels father with pure rage in his eyes, "You let them free, hell you let them live until they die naturally, and I'll do whatever you want" He growled quietly, his gold eyes meeting the mans.

"I have no interest in anything you can offer," Lorel's father dismissed him shortly, barely even glancing at the man. "You're just one human. You're nothing of interest to me."

Lorel knew one thing and one thing only: her mother was going to kill her for this. "Wait, father," she said quickly, careful to keep her voice composed, free from any form of sentiment or the childish curiosity she had experienced earlier. "I have a request, if I may. A use for the human boy."

Looking over at her with surprise, but not the same contempt as her mother, Lorel's father raised his brows at her slightly. "Really, Lorel? Very well. Speak."

"Well, you know I've never had the chance to acquire a blood slave. I'm a century old now; I really ought to have one."

"We can acquire one from the market, Lorel," her father said, turning away from her. "One far less prone to disobedience."

"Yes, but father, this sends a message," Lorel said, speaking gently. Her mother she struggled with, but curling her father around her little finger had always been an easier task. They thought along the same lines. "My taking the humans' leader as my blood slave, it'll crush all hope and faith they have in the cause. What better way to publicise their defeat than to humiliate their leader?"

Tony raised an eyebrow, but joined in, "I'll behave sir" He said quietly, seeming to struggle with the word, "As long as you let them go and live their lives without vampire interference. They won't rebel again, I promise you" Tony continued, not looking at his rebellious crew as they let out soft gasps

Considering for a moment, Lorel's father took his time to contemplate their separate arguments. "One slip up, from any of your men, and I will have each one of them rounded up, and along with yourself, you shall be publicly executed, in the most humiliating manner possible. Should you disobey, boy," Lorel's father continued, narrowing his eyes at the boy, "I will not only have them killed, but everyone you've come into contact with. Friends, family, allies. All of them shall be hunted and tortured, and you child, shall be made to watch. Are these conditions understood?"

Tony nodded his head silently, "Yes sir" He said quietly, not meeting his eyes. He'd clearly gone back to his old ways of being silent, calm and submissive, and it clearly shocked a few of his rebels, one of which, a woman whom Tony was sure had a crush on him, started crying in fear for her leader

Noting the change in the human's demeanour, Lorel leaned forward, analysing him. Any regret she might have felt for her actions and the consequences quickly vanished, and though she kept her appearance outwardly detached and disinterested, she couldn't help but want to find out more. She had a real live human under her control now. It was at once both terrifying and exhilarating. All the stories she'd heard, all the debates she'd listened in on and held herself. Perhaps she may now finally get some answers.

"Take the others to be released. They will be separated, and discharged to differing villages. Keep them in holding until you have organised it," Lorel's father ordered. "As for this one," he said, gesturing to Tony. "Have him cleaned and properly dressed. You may then deliver him to my daughters room." He then stood, smoothing down his robes. "Court adjourned. This trial is over."

A group of guards nodded, and lead the group off to do so, a few sending Tony sad glances and waves as they were led away, their ex-leader having turned to watch them go.

Tony them turned to a guard, who unlocked his bindings, and Tony rubbed his wrists as he was lead away to get dressed accordingly
