For The Alliance!
It had been a busy day that the vet's office and Kali was dead on her feet. As the last dog was carried out of the clinic by a happy owner Kali let out a relieved sigh I didn't think she would ever leave she thought as she made her way up the stairs and to her apartment. Yes, where she lived is where she worked. She was the type of person that she wanted to help anyone or anything in need at any time day or night. So yes it was annoying at times to hear someone ringing the bell at 1 in the morning but in the end, healing the animal, it was worth getting woke up.

And healing is exactly what Kali did, she was blesses with a gift of healing. She is able to heal any living creature except herself. Which, she never thought much off, and it didn't hurt that she rarely hurt herself. However, even though she had this ability, she didn't let everyone know. Actually, she really didn't have anyone, that knew. It wasn't because she didn't want to tell them, she was just afraid of how some of the people would act or treat her. There were some people that just couldn't stand 'her kind' or whatever they called the gifted or 'odd' so, she just didn't tell anyone.

She yawned and stretched as she headed up the stairs thinking about making herself a nice pot of hot tea. With maybe just a little honey in it.

Sebastian is frantic. Nyx, one of his cats, won't stop barfing up furballs. She refuses to eat, and when she did it, she'll just vomit it up. "What am I gonna do?" He asks himself, afraid for her safety. Worse of all, he can't seem to communicate with her. Usually, he can communicate with cats, but not this time. Fearing she might be infected or poisoned, he quarantined her from the rest. The others are also worried. They keep asking me what's wrong. "I don't know, I don't know." He just said, walking around. Then he remembered something. His neighbor is a vet. QWuickly picking Nyx up, he ran towards his neighbor's veterinary clinic, knocking on her door. "Hello? Is someone here?" He frantically asks.

As Kali put her foot on the top stair someone started banging on her door. maybe if I dont answer they will go away she thought to herself, but knew better. With a sigh she started back down the stairs and opened the door. There was man standing there holding the cat that seemed to be ill. well Duh Kali your a vet, of course the cat is ill She stepped aside to allow the man to come in saying, "here, let me see you kitty and I will take care of her or him. Which ever the case may be. Just wait out here for a moment" She knew she was being rude but she was so tired that she didn't care. She held out her hands to take the cat from the owner. "I Promise she will be in good hands" She said finally meeting the mans gaze.

Sebastian was about to say something else when he met her gaze. He just stood there, dumbfounded, his mouth opening and closing like a fish but no words are coming out. He blushed, knowing he just made a fool of himself. She really is pretty. He have heard rumors before that the vet next door was a cute girl, but he have never seen her before. "O-Okay, just make sure she's fine." He said, remembering why he went here in the first place.

She smiled up at him too tired to notice the blush and said "She will be just fine" as she took the cat from the man.

She took the little one into a operation room, placed her on the table and gave her a quick looking over. There wasn't anything obvious on the outside but on the inside... Kali placed her hands gently on the cat and searched for the injury. oh my, she has a torn stomach. Glad he brought her in when he did. It only took Kali a few minutes to heal the wound in the stomach but it took a few more minutes to heal the parts that had been damaged from the stomach acid that had been leaking out from the wound.

Once she was done she looked down at the cat. She wasn't purring but wasn't in anymore pain. The poor thing just seamed exhausted. "Well, we are just going to have to tell your owner that you had a chicken bone caught in your throat, what do you think about that? Not the truth but a chicken bone is probably what punctured your stomach." Kali said softly to the Cat as she stroked her and Picked her up.

She had been in the room with the cat for about 30 minutes. When she walked out of the room with her in her arms she said simply "She is fine, just a chicken bone, she is fine to go home. No meds needed but I do request that you don't give her anymore chicken bones. Sometimes they just don't chew enough, and what you had is what you get."
OOC: heading off to bed bud. Will reply to you in the morning! Have a good one!! :)

(Night!) For a whole 30 minutes, Sebastian sat there, worried out of his mind. He kept murmuring to himself. "Don't worry she's fine." "She's going to be okay." "Oh my god, she might die." He can't stop worrying. He was absolutely relieved when they came out. Sebastian was crying, happy to see Nyx safe. "Oh my god, thank you!" He said to the vet. When he heard about the cause of her illness, he sternly looked at her. "I'm not feeding any of you chicken, you hear me?" He said. He turned to look at the vet. "I'm Sebastian by the way. Thank you so much for helping us."

Kali yawned handing him the cat, "you are very welcome Sebastian. If you have any other cats that have silmular symptoms bring them as soon as you can. This one was lucky that you did." Kali stroked the kitty again smiling at her. "And I wouldn't completely deny the poor things of chicken. I don't think they would appreciate it. They might just get you in the night," She giggled still stroking the cat in his arms, "but I would definitely not give them the bones"

Kali smiled a apologeticly looking up at Sebastian "please forgive me, I am just a little slap happy from being tired. I don't usually rant like this. It has just been a long day."

He smiled, cuddling Nyx, happy to see her back to her own self. He didn't listen much to her rantings, but he did hear her apologize. "Oh no. I actually appreciate it." He said, smiling at her, happy thar she's eager to help him. "Although I don't think you'll like it if I brought them here for their check up. I have more than 30 at home." He said, somewhat embarrassed. Most people criticize him for having that much cats. And, he must admit, he feels ashamed sometimes. "Any way, I would really like to take you out for, I don't know, maybe some coffee or lunch, as a thanks for helping us." He said, really grateful for her help.

Kali laughed "30 cats? Oh my goodness, I couldn't imagine how many fights they get into in a day. Or now much cat food you do through! Goodness! But at least you don't have mice" she giggled again thinking about having that many cats. "That would be fun though, be like having a house full of kids... And just as stressful I am certain" she said poking the kitty on the nose, making her point.

She looked up at him she he asked to take her out for coffee, "um, well, if nothing horrid happens tomorrow morning, and I don't get a bunch of emergency calls, I think that would be nice. I think I need to learn to communicate with people again. I am not to sure that talking to something that doesn't talk back to you is healthy. How about that little diner a couple blocks down?" She asked, hoping he knew which one she was talking about.

He chuckled at her comment. "Yeah, they can be quite rowdy, and they are very noisy too. Good thing I have Nyx here, she's my second in command, always keeping the others in check." He said, scratching the cat between its ears, knowing it likes being scratched there. He smiled at her, recognizing the diner she's talking about. "Yeah, it's a pretty good diner. So, I'll pick you up at 10 then." He said, thanking her again as he left, going home.

Kali closed the door behind him and stretching, headed upstairs again. It was not until she got to the top of the stairs that she realized what she had done "did I really just agree to get coffee with someone I don't even know?" She said out loud to herself "I must be more tired than I thought..." She sighed shaking her head and headed to make herself a cup of hot tea before she went went off to bed.

She woke up at 8:00 the next morning to a knocking on her door. Still in her pajamas she ran down stairs to see what the day was going to bring. Hopefully the morning wasn't going to be too busy.

He went home, a big smile plastered on his face. The cats swarmed them, wanting to know what happened. Of course Nyx, being a stereotypical big sister, chose to scare them, saying that the vet's gonna open your stomach and use pointed things on you. Of course, he had to contradict this, seeing that many of them started crying. After consoling those who cried and reprimanding Nyx, he went to bed, although all he could think of is the vet with whom he's having coffee tomorrow.

At precisely 10 am, not a minute more, not a second late, he knocked on the door, hoping she was not too busy to have coffee. "Don't worry, this is not a date. This is just me thanking her." He keeps repeating in his mind, although he keeps blushing whenever he thinks about Kali.

There was an odd rush of people with sick or injured pets until about 9:00. When the last person person pulled out at 9:05 Kali sighed and looked at the clock. "Crap! I have to get ready!" She said to herself running up the stairs. "I don't think he would appreciate hanging out with me in these slacks." She said as she started pulling off her clothes.

She took a quick shower and putting her hair up in a towel she started rummaging through her closet. She finally stopped when she found a plain white dress with big pink carnations on it and spaghetti straps over her shoulders.

"This will do," she said pulling it out of the closet. She didn't have very many 'good' clothes because she hardly ever went out anywhere or hung out with anyone. This dress that she had pulled out she had just bought on a whim thinking it was pretty more than anything.

After slipping that on and drying her hair she looked at the clock and saw that it was 5 till ten. "Wow that's a first, I am never ready on time" she did a few more touch ups and then grabbing her purse and putting on some silver heals, she started down stairs. Right as she took a step off of the last stair she heard a knock at the door.

She opened the door and let out a sigh of relief when she saw it wasn't a customer, "I have had pets all morning, I thought you might have been another one" she said to Sebastian as she stepped outside, loved the door and turned a sign that said "out of office, back in thirty, for emergencies call:" and her sell phone number at the bottom.

She turned back to him, looked up at him, he was quite tall, and said "ready?"

He smile as she goes out of the house. "You are absolutely stunning." He said, smiling as they made their way to the diner. "It must be hard, being a vet. I have a question, why did you choose to be a vt? Why not be a doctor or an engineer or something?" He ask, curious as to her choice of work. Although he is not complaining, without her, Nyx might have died.

(Sorry for the short post. I just need to sleep. Night!)

"Well a doctor was definitely a choice I had but I figured that there were enough people representing the sick human community and not enough for the animal. At anytime you can go to the hospital and get treated. Day or night with an emergency. You can call and get help right at your door. You can't really get that kind of service with a sick animal and I wanted to be able to provide that service. I didn't really think it was fair." She said as she walked because him to the diner.

The other reason she didn't become a doctor is because people talk, and as soon as she healed someone in front of them, it would be on the news. She didn't want that, she just wanted to be left alone so she could do her work in the best way she could.

(Don't worry about short posts. Real life comes first!! Have a good night!!)

He smiled, agreeing with her. "I totally agree with you. It's good to see that someone actually wants to help animals." He said, looking at her. She truly is amazing, and quite beautiful too. They arrived at the diner, sitting in one of the booths. "What do you want to eat? Don't worry, choose anything you want, it's all on me." He said, calling for the waitress.

Kali smiled "I just want a nice hot cup of coffee with sugar and cream for right now. I need to wake up a little more before I eat something" she paused and then rested her head in her hands and asked him "so what do you do? For a job I mean? Anything interesting?" This was the first time she had actually taken a good look at him. The day before she was half asleep when she met him and she was happy now to see that he wasn't a bad looking guy at all. He was different he had a unique style to him, but good looking all in all.

"Good. Two coffees please, we'll order later." Sebastian politely said to the waitress. Well, she really needed the coffee, especially after a day's work. "Well, I am an architect. I am a pretty good one, but business is not exactly bustling, but I get some offers from time to time, and the pay is decent." He said, the coffees arriving. "Thank you." He said, taking a sip of the coffee. He really likes drinking coffee, one of his most favorite things in the world. "I am also an occasional painter, which also pays decently, especially the special requests. I usually do animals, which usually results to me painting someone's pet. I am also an aspiring writer, just aspiring though. Never had a chance to publish." He said, smiling at her.

Kali added some cream and sugar to her coffee as she listened to Sebastian talk. Taking a big swig she closed her eyes and smiled, "ah, just was I needed," still holding her cup in her hands she looked at Sebastian, "wow, you seem like a man of many talents Sebastian, you make my one talent seem dull." She paused sitting down her mug but still having her hands wrapped around it, "I always liked paintings and different drawings. I always wanted to do something like that, and I tried, but i just don't have the talent. I always end up with a child's finger paint painting." She laughed looking out the window. "But I am happy doing what I am doing and that's what really matters." She looked back at him and asked "so tell me, how did you get all those cats? Did they just flock to you or did you adopt them all?"

He smile at her, hearing her compliment. He added lots of cream and sugar to his coffee, preferring it to be really sweet. "Hey don't say that. If it wasn't for your talent, Nyx might have been a goner, and thank you for that." He said, smiling at her. "You know, if you want, I could give you lessons. You can also visit my house to check some of my works out." He said, smiling at her. He really hopes she takes his offer, wanting to know her more. "Ah, the cats. You know, it is quite funny, the way it happened. Nyx was my first cat. She's a stray. She followed me all the way from a bookstore to my house. When I reached home, she was about to collapse from exhaustion, so I took her in. After that, cats begin to flock around me, following me home. Although I did adopt some of them from shelters." He said, taking a swig and smiling. "Do you have any pets?"

Kali laughed and waved her hand, "any vet could have helped your little one, I was just the closest, being a vet is something that is taught, being a painter and an artist is a god given talent. It really can't be taught. So I will decline your invite to teach me, but I would like to see your work." She took another sip of coffee, "she followed you home?! Wow, that's quite a loving cat. I wonder what ever made her follow you. I am sure there were many people on the streets, but she picked you. You must definitely be a special person." She smiled looking at him, "especially when Nyx told the rest of the neighborhood about you," she giggled a little bit, "but to answer your question, no I don't have any animals. I know that if I took one in there would be no stopping me from taking them all in."

((Sorry it is short... Working. V_V ))

He smile, seeing her try to be humble. He just nods at her, not wanting to push it. "What do you mean you don't have a talent?! Any person that can hold a brush in his hand can paint!" He said, laughing."Well, not everyone can be a good painter, but it can be taught. Please, even just for a week. If you still don't feel like painter, we can stop." He said, wanting her to consider her options. He smile when he heard her talk about the cats. "Yeah, but it's me who's really lucky to have them." He said, which is really true.

Kali just shook her head but said "I'll think about it, not saying yes or no, just let me think about it. But on another note, why do you like cats so much? Are cats your favorite animal? Do you like other animals or just cats?" She found it interesting that someone could live with that many cats and still be sane. Cats are such finicky animals in so many ways, she wasn't sure she would be able to put up with two in the same house let alone 30. She couldn't imagine the food or the fights the get into.

He shrug. "I don't know. I mean, yeah I like them, but they're not the only animals I like, I just seem to attract them, but I'm not complaining." He said, smiling brightly at her. "It can be hard, but somehow I can like talk to them, in a way. I can tell what they're thinking, and it's like communicating with them." He said, knowing this is true but he thinks that she'll just say it's just imagination.
