1x1 romance

Shiloh

In One Ear And Out The Other
Looking for someone okay with short scenes and constantly changing settings. The original concept/inspiration/story highlights changing seasons to help see the moving of the story. The original story, follows main character Jeane Keller through a full year with her boss, Grant, eventually ending with the two admitting they fell for one another.

There will probably have to be changes due to the change in media, such as:

A character other than Grant, though similar - I seriously recommend you read the story if you wish to join me, and so I'll post it here, in it's entirety. Make note that some of the dialogue had to be censored.

As for the lore of the world, it's basically the same as our own, set in Manhattan, 2013-2014.

"See ya' tomorrow, Grant," she said, leaning into his office. Grant looked up from his work to flash her a smile."Wear a jacket, Trigger-finger. It's a bit nippy tonight." He replied playfully. Jeane nodded, as she was already pushing her arms into the sleeves of her royal blue coat.It was May in Manhattan, and Jeane Keller was spending the holiday alone, as she had done for three years after quitting her job overseas. She looked up at the sky now as clouds began to shadow the gray of the concrete jungle. Everyone who didn't work third shift was home, now, celebrating with loved ones. As she stepped up to the peeling red door of her home, she took out her keys to unlock it. Jeane stood in the doorway for a moment, before walking inside, and closing the door behind her, staring into the dim, empty space. A beat of silence passed, before she sighed, and began relieving herself of her coat and purse. She collapsed on the couch and closed her eyes, just laying there in the cool and the quiet. Yawning, she lifted herself up again, and went to bed."Say it." She demanded. "Freaking say it, Grant."He lowered his gaze slowly, reaching out a hand to touch her shoulder. She didn't shrug him off. A good sign."I'm sorry I brought it up." He closed his eyes for a moment, weakness showing in every tiny movement, even in the way he just slightly bit down on his lower lip, and cautiously avoided her prodding, icy glare. Jeane took a pause. She'd never been one for sentimentality. Showing how she felt wasn't her strong suit, and in any situation she was prone to sarcasm and anger. Nobody ever really took her for more than a loose cannon who didn't know when to stop. She shoved his hand away as a grin overtook her face."Come off it, Boss," she laughed. "I know!"Grant gave her a look that told her, 'don't put on that act with me.' The grin faded slowly into a look of utter grief. They stared in silence as the rain fell outside. It was nearly summer, now, and the showers were heavy and dramatic. She hated them, since Grant always acted more solemn when it rained."Now you know, Grant. Don't do it again. You break me, my foot has a meeting with your butt." She turned and left the building.A wind swept through, and her hair obscured her vision for a moment as she stared down at the slabs of grey stone. "Hey, you guys," she murmured, her voice slightly hoarse. Grant stood back at the car, watching her. Jeane's head was bowed, her black skirt billowing in the strong autumn breeze. In her hand she held two marigolds, just beginning to die. Leaning down, she placed one at the base of each marked grave."I love you," she swallowed, requiring a pause as she began slowly undoing the sash around her waist, which gave the dress an hourglass shape. "And I miss you two. Wait for me, don't go anywhere. I promise I'll be with you as soon as I can."She turned away, and, as always, felt a shiver run down her spine."Yep. Bye."A thought passed through her as she stared at him. She had just been so angry, and now she wanted only to go home. Grant's eyes were trained on something over her shoulder, but his palm remained on her cheek. Winter’s bite made their cheeks and noses pink, and Jeane’s hair was dotted with snowflakes.“What-” Jeane began, but he simply shushed her. She narrowed her eyes. “Who the heck you think you’re talking to!? Buddy, you better give me some explanation as to why your lips came within a millimeter to my own!” She growled impatiently. There was a hint of a smile on his face.“Shut up. You know why.” His hand pushed up, brushing some of her pale blonde hair back into her knitted puppy hat. She laughed at this, surprised by his attitude.“Get off your high horse, Grant.”“You know you love me, too,” he teased. “We’ve been together long enough that I can read your mind, Trigger-finger.”

Thanks for reading the whole story.
