"Supposedly you can notice it from a distance.
One might smell the burning clouds...
One might spy twisters towering like titans and blood red waves.
I've heard... You can hear the thrashing, as the monster escapes from the depths gasping for air."
The stoic man nods, drinking his ale in a single swig and placing the mug back on the counter in silence. The bartender continues...
"That story makes sense to me, if you sail open seas you try to steer clear of a storm... even more so if it seems like hell itself is beginning to rise out of the water.
The second kind of story however. Usually end the same way, guess it's cause i hear bits and pieces from mysterious tough guys every so often."
The stoic man smiles slightly, guessing he might be to old to fit that description now...
The bartender keeps talking.
"It paints a picture that's for sure....
...If you believe it or not I guess breaks down to a person's character.
It's always the same story but told differently..."
The skies burn with darkness as the waters turn red, the weather becomes violent and throughout the chaos vibrations shoot out shaking even the most sturdy mast. Then the ship gets destroyed and everyone gets eaten or drowns.
"Funny thing is I only hear these tales from the eh, storied folk if you get me. Dangerous sorts, sometimes eccentric sometimes more quiet.
They say the blood seas is caused by a monster, a hideous whale larger than the island tied to it. Constantly bleeding never dying, always moving in search of food and calm waters to stain with dread."
Before the stoic man could ask his third question the bartender stopped him.
"Now I know why your asking me, and I'll tell you the truth because you paid upfront.
Your asking me questions cause you heard those who survive the blood seas, emerge as a new man
You might think that means mystical powers but I'm telling you it's wrong!
That's just what anyone says if they survive a meeting with death and your lost at sea for who knows how long.
Don't go chasing monsters boss...
I warned you!!"

Despite the bartenders words George Joster remained vigilant in his goal of finding the blood seas. He would need skilled individuals of all sorts in his quest to save Jolene Joster, the young lady taken by the bleeding monster just six months ago.
George's efforts lead him to you, with charm and money you are recruited to his suicidal but honorable journey.
You are a skilled individual, not only are you competent in your field but once already you have survived the blood seas...
And like all who survive a encounter with the bleeding monster you emerged different, through the monsters curse or sheer willpower to survive you have adapted and developed a strange new ability.

Group rp for seven people, set in a medieval fantasy I'd like each player to post two paragraphs or more twice a week.
The idea being you create your character and I give them a random ability/power.
Could be as simple as having a big punchy ghost behind you or as strange as spawning dinosaurs either way I promise I won't rip off jojo entirely.
Each character starts off with or will get a random power from the blood seas, George Joster has hired warriors, sailors, hunters, and more in his quest to track down the bleeding monster.
You and seven others will travel with George across the seas and lands gathering clues from a ancient cult to piece together the plan to ambush the monster and infiltrate the island it drags with it.
Sound off below if this seems your jam or you have questions.
To solidify your spot you will need to make some sort of claim that you won't ghost on punishment of the community judging you as weak
A small example of a character with a power/ability
Waboe Kirra is a pirate who turned to Vampire hunting once his ship was ambushed by the blood seas.
Like most who survive the bleeding monster, Waboe was lucky to find enough to find a chunk of wood that floated and a merchant ship days later. Once on dry land Waboe noticed he was different, that he could do something new...
A strange ability to summon a bow without a string.
The shape of the wood suggests it is held in tension by a invisible string, further practice and experimental efforts shows Waboe that he is able to create the string and arrows for his bow as well. He called this ability
Magic arrows.
