1e to 2e Speed Conversion

Has anyone come upon a solid conversion for Speed from 1e to 2e?  It's especially important for sorcerery, where a Speed 8 Smoke Cobra is no longer very dangerous in 2e.  I've tried searching both wikis and can't find anything.

Any help would be great, thanks!

There really isn't a systematic way to do it. The concepts that speed from 1e represented are now tied up in a confluence of speed and rate. This isn't helped by the fact that 1e power combat also had rate...

The best way to do it? Look at the 1e stat, interpret it in terms of how 1e combat worked, and then pull a set of 2e numbers out of your ass that feel like they'll do something similar.

To add to Fruan's comments:

In 1E, "Speed" was a measure of how fast your character acts in initiative. Now, that's covered by Join Battle. "Speed" in 2E is a VERY different animal.

If something had a high Speed in 1E, that means it will have a high Join Battle roll in 2E. The Speed of the attacks is something you'll have to invent for yourself.

Why not roll Initiative and subtract the Speed of the maneuver from your Initiative?

Welcome to my world.  If things aren't running crazy, I know that something is wrong.
