Hyorin is a one of those girls who looks completely normal but on this inside she a complete nut job. When I say nutjob I don’t mean an actual nut job but you know that person at school who would have the strangest laugh, tell the strangest jokes and grab peoples butts randomly. Well that’s Hyorin.
The 22 year old is annoying yet totally loveable as her group members know that she just does those strange things to try and make them laugh and to try a relieve the stress of being an idol/trainee.
However there is a side to Hyorin that only the people in her agency get to see. This side of Hyorin is strict and serious and this is when she’s dancing. Hyorin couldn’t sing or rap well like her other members but she excelled at dancing. When the group was being taught a new dance Hyorin would turn into the dance instructor of the group as she would help the members perfect the dance in as shortest time possible.
Overall the 20 year old is one big ball of energy who just wants to see her members happy and becoming successful.

Park Hyunwoo: Hyorin has a crush on the friendly rapper. But she thinks he has a thing for her best friend Wei which makes her heart drop just thinking about it.
Moon Jisoo: Being the same age made the two naturally closer along side Jisoo helping Hyorin with her singing but the two friends also spend a lot of time goofing off.

taewoong was born in seoul as the only child of a relatively average middle class couple. if you look at his life before training to be an idol, his life seemed to be just that, average. while he was lucky to face to particular hardship in his childhood aside from the occasional teasing for being the quiet kid in class, he was not blessed in any particular way either. he supposes the abnormality was that his parents put him into dance classes instead of a more orthodox hobby, but the decision ultimately led to his passion for dancing. he was no prodigy, certainly not out of the gate and not now, but it was different. it was something he was good at, exceptional in. he wasn't another blip on the map of kids his age on the stage. it meant a lot to ten year old taewoong, even if it was a beginner's dance class. it's safe to say his skill and passion only really grew from there, and it's at fifteen when he auditions to an idol company. the decision seems a bit out of the blue. he wasn't part of choir, nor was an exceptional singer, so his peers were skeptical of him. that, and they were all in high school. everyone's a bit judgmental then. either way, he ended up passing, surprising everyone including taewoong. sure, he was the one with a confidence to audition in the first place, but he hadn't expected results. from there, he began his life as a trainee. it certainly wasn't easy, as again, taewoong was no prodigy, especially compared to other trainees. he supposes he couldn't help but compare himself to the other trainees, picking himself apart because of it. the others could hit notes better, learn lyrics faster, and generally had much more of an air that they knew what they were doing, especially compared to him. what was so special about taewoong compared to them? the only time he kept up properly was when they danced, but even then he was not the best of the best like he wanted to be, like he needed to be. it ate at him. he had considered quitting, but even his will was a little stronger than that. at the expense of his confidence, he made it to his debut date. he's certainly not a standout member of nova, but he's there, and right now, that's what matters to him.

nara cares greatly for the other members of starlight, and is known to be very responsible and mature when it comes to carrying out her duties as leader. she is very affection with people she's close to, and gives out hugs on a regular basis. she acts as a peacemaker and mediator in the event that an argument takes place, and very rarely loses her temper, though an angry nara is not a sight anyone wants to behold. she's approachable, and a really good listener. her tolerance for bullshit is extremely high, and she can laugh off just about anything. nara tends to struggle a lot with complicated dances, and often sits out whenever the other members start learning dances from other group's songs. it is a point of insecurity for her that she's not as good as the others, but she's grateful for all the help she receives and their patience with her whenever she's learning a new dance. in turn, nara also regularly offers her help to anyone who needs it.
nara is very charming when she wants to be, comfortable in front of a camera, and often interacts and makes friends with variety show hosts as well as members of the staff very easily; she almost always makes sure that the staff are also getting enough rest and having their meals. she loves food, and eats almost anything as long as it tastes good, and while her concept is supposed to cool, her actual behaviour is far from elegant. she laughs at just about anything, though her laugh is more on the lines of a guffaw, and she especially loves hyorin's jokes.

nara had always loved singing. for as long as she could remember, and sometimes she'd even tried writing her own songs, though in her younger days, almost every creation had been a flop. when she was a child, her dream had been to one day make music for a living. in her first year of high school one of her friends, hye jung, had come up to her, asking if she'd like to audition with her, nara had readily said yes, not expecting much of it.
both of them were called back, and both accepted to join. nara became a trainee at the age of 16.
the period that nara was a trainee had not been difficult for her. not as difficult as others, at least. she seemed pretty good at everything except dancing. still, from the stories she'd heard, she'd have expected it to be more painful and torturous as ex-trainees had described it to be. maybe it was better because hyejung was there. the two trained together, and if they weren't already very close before, they were now inseparable. they provided each other support in their hardest times- when nara struggled immensely with dancing, and when hyejung was worried that she wouldn't pass the next test for their vocal skills. the plan for the two at the time had been to debut them together in the same girl group, but due to unknown reasons, hyejung was suddenly pulled out from the original lineup, and if hyejung knew the reason behind it, she didn't want to tell nara. hyejung was to train with a different group from now on.
nara was more than bummed about this, but regardless pushed through, and was excited to meet the other members of the confirmed lineup. she easily made friends with the other members, and was both stunned and honoured when she found out she would be leader.
a few weeks or so, maybe about a month or two even before starlight's debut, nara had noticed a rather odd individual in starlight's male counterpart group, nova, and had taken it upon herself to befriend him. she was more or less acquaintances with the rest of them, but this one had a particularly hard shell to crack, and nara loved challenges. she'd tried multiple times to no avail. during a company function to celebrate an all-kill of a different artist signed to the same company, nara hung around him, refusing to back off despite his lack of interest in even making an acquaintance of her. she eventually followed him when he left early to a shady little bar, where he promptly told her to fuck off, because he'd had enough of her shit.
slightly disheartened, but vowing to keep trying, nara stayed in the bar, hovering near him, but her presence hadn't gone unnoticed to a few ugly bastards who seemed to have had too much to drink. they'd surrounded her, offering her drinks and throwing some horrid pickup lines. she made to escape from their little circle of cringe, but they kept moving to stop her. nara was getting more distressed by the second, until a figure shoved his way through the circle to her side, glaring at them and murmuring some threats in a dangerously low tone. when they refused to listen, a punch was thrown, and they scattered quickly, seemingly clear-minded enough to want to avoid a fight.
nara was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events. she'd thrown her arms around him, exclaiming, "so you do care!" jaegi had pried her off and added on that they still weren't friends, but nara knew she'd made progress. she started hanging around him more and more, sometimes he actually responded, and eventually she'd grown on him so much that yoongi had decided to accept her.

after the bar incident, they've gradually become as close as siblings, and nara has become a confidante of sorts to jaegi. she greatly admires his rapping and songwriting abilities. she often comes to him for validation when writing lyrics. nara makes it a personal game to try and get him to lose his cool, finding it amusing due to how out of character it is, as his chilling calm mirrors hers to a greater extent whenever she has to be serious. one of the reasons she broke through his shell was her persistance and seeming immunity to his insults, though she does admit now that they are friends whenever he hurts her feelings. nara is aware of his sexuality.

ki-jae kind of has a dark sense of humor. he enjoys witnessing the misery of others, whether he was the cause of it or not. from pranking to outright exposing them to spouting sarcastic comments, he enjoys watching as others(mostly his hyungs) get caught into a tight spot. sure, he never takes anything too far and never purposely aim to hurt people physically and emotionally(or well anything that could ruin their life). he understands his limits and will immediately apologize when told to. probably the evilest maknae among all evil maknaes. ki-jae can be such a savage sometimes and fans always wonder how he can get away with treating his hyungs like that. in reality, he just can’t help himself. he’s very observant of others and is almost honest to a fault. if there’s a discrepancy, he’s probably the first one to point it out. just imagine that annoying younger sibling on family shows and ki-jae would be the real life version, except he can be the sweetest and cutest little thing so it’s easy to love and forgive him.
