Weather is no longer how we knew it. We can no longer predict it or understand how strong it'll be. Now, tornadoes can rip through anything in it's path, leaving scars on the Earth from were it had landed to where it disappeared. Rain can strip buildings of their paint, and tear into clothes and flesh depending on the severity of it. Hurricanes can now traveler farther inland and last longer, and stronger, causing floods and mass destruction. Snow is one of the worst, it causes all the lakes, and majority of the ocean to freeze, and the snow can get to seemingly impossible highs, the temperature, to impossible lows. No one's ever experienced anything quite like this, but of course, the US was prepared for natural disasters. Bio-Domes.
Citizens ran towards the underground safe-houses, named bio-domes for safety. Most were killed by the weather whereas other were killed by people gone mad. This lasted for a few weeks, people screaming and running around, trying to find a safe-place to wait out the extreme weather. Generations of people in Bio-Domes kept people alive, generations upon generations. One generation taught the next, and so on. However, the citizens of the bio-domes didn't know a crucial thing, the weather wasn't a freak act of mother-nature, radiation from space was the sole cause. In our solar system, there are huge planet sized pockets of radiation, enough in one to irradiate the whole surface of the Earth. Radiation was seeping into the bio-domes due to extreme rain, and it was filtered into the water system. Mothers with unborn babies were affected the most, almost all of them died before childbirth, except 10 from Bio-Dome 156. These died during or after childbirth, leaving the children to be Orphans. As they grew older, and well into their teenage years, radiation took effect of the population of the bio-dome. Leaving the 10 teenagers alone, watching every last one of the people die slowly and painfully. Unable to produce water or food by themselves, there was one thing left to do.
Venture outside the bio-dome. Simple enough, right? Danger lurks behind every corner, weather it's mutated animals or extreme weather, these 10 will have to come together to survive.
