CHARACTER LORE

THE DEVIANTS
people who were born with supernatural powers after the Fall. Scientists now speculate it has to do with the toxins of the nuclear disaster, though can't completely confirm that theory yet. Besides their supernatural powers, Deviants have advanced senses; meaning they are naturally faster and stronger than normal humans. Each Deviant has to go through a period of transition, where their powers develop and become mature and sustainable. This transition is very important but also dangerous. If something goes wrong during this period of transition, their own powers can kill them. Or maybe even worse, they turn into a Reaper..

THE PHANTOMS:
An unit of deviant agents specialized in undermining the government’s efforts, saving other deviants, and stealing resources from the cities.

THE ENYOS:
An unit created specifically to eliminate the threat that is the Phantoms. All three members are from prospective families, though little do they know the government didn’t choose them just because of that. All three members harbour their own powers but in secret, afraid how family and the government will react.

THE REAPERS:
Mutated Deviants who lost all sense of humanity. They feast upon human flesh and will attack everyone and anyone that crosses paths with them. Reapers are mostly habited in the north, namely the land that once was Canada. However, during the winter they tend to go more south.

Don't come closer..
WORLD LORE

TERRITORY
Union Territory stretches almost over half of what was once the United States. The former Eastern states were hit the most by the nuclear disaster and are still mostly toxic wastelands, so Union decided to rebuild society in the West.
Yellow = Union Territory
Purple/blue-ish = neutral land. This is also where most of the deviants have settled in secret settlements.
Green = Toxic wastelands

CITIES & SETTLEMENTS
Inside Union Territory, there are three regions. Each region has a couple of cities and multiple settlements.
Every city and settlement also have the same amenities, which are;
- the Archon Hall for civil meetings and public announcements
- one elementary and one high school
- An Entertainment Quarter, which usually consists of a holo theatre, a holo library, a few bars and some other places of entertainment value.
- A militia force
- An entire section dedicated to housing, labelled the Habitation Quarter.
NOTES: Cities may have two habitation quarters, depending on the size.

Cities do have their own names, though the Union seemingly did not hold the same creativity towards settlements and merely numbered them.
Here’s an oversight of the prominent cities and the settlements

Region I | Poorest region/ most inhabited region
Settlement 1 – 70
Ylheim – city closest to the borders that once was Canada. Also the most prone to Reaper attacks.
Perdition – Forms the largest military base.
Stratus – Where most working camps lay for those who are classified as traitors. Also has the biggest prison.
Sonimor – has the Deviant Experimentation Centre

Region II | most affluent region | Most closely-populated region
Settlement 71 - 181
New Epolis – most recently built city and hotspot for technology lovers.
Heleus – Capital city of Union territory and also the biggest city.
Primus – Has the biggest trading centre
Oasis - Coastal city that is a favoured β€˜holiday’ destination for those who can afford it.

Region III | Largest Region |Arguably the most peaceful region.
Settlement 182 – 310
Aprimare – largest agricultural city
Florana – city ranked as most peaceful.
Irosa – city closest to the border of region II. Is known for its developments in medicine.

HIERARCHY
Unifier; the one who has the final say on everything.
Arbiter; the ones who can make laws and regulations and controller of the populace.
They have four different divisions;
- Media
- Education
- Health
- Military

Scions - they are the heads of each region and ensure that the laws and regulations are implemented in each zone. They also report to the Arbiter about the β€˜state’ of each region.

Archons - they are the leaders of each settlement or city put in the place of 'power' by the regime in order to keep the population in check, and obedient to the Union. They don’t have a lot of power and are easily replaceable should anyone of the higher-ups deem them inadequate.

TECHNOLOGY
Technology has greatly advanced in the last two centuries after the Fall. The use of Artificial intelligence is prominent and almost anyone has their own Union designed AI-COM in their home. People call it a new digital era where previous commodities such as paper and even money notes are a thing of the past. Instead, holographic screens and online transactions are the new norm. Only in the more remote and poorer areas, people can still pay with coins – but even those settlements are pressured to transfer to the new way of trading. Even now, the government continues to push for further technological advancements? Why? The answer is simple; because that way, it’s easier to control everything.

MEDIA
All the media is strictly regulated by the government. Back in the days, people may classify it propaganda, but the Union considers it a necessary safety procedure. Propaganda posters and holo-screens are dotted around the streets of all settlements and cities. And On a day-to-day basis, the screens projected onto the concrete canvas would exhibit the Unifier, spewing Union Messages. He would call on his citizens to report sedition, to upholding the good name of the Union, glorify the regime, and convince the population how they are the path to freedom and security.

EDUCATION
Media isn’t the only thing controlled by the government. All the education resources, ranging from books to school, are mandated by the Union. A notable aspect of this regulation is the erasure of history. Everything before the Fall is swept under the rug and covered by another layer of oblivion. Union doesn’t want people to learn about the amount of freedom people had before their reign nor does the institute want people to know about historical movements that might prompt the thought of rebellion. As far as they are concerned, the old world never existed. And any people who might harbour any old books, relics or other resources are to be punished accordingly for spreading false propaganda themselves.
