Hecate Academy for Higher Learning
Hecate Academy for Higher Learning
I. In the beginning, there was one. Her true name has become unknown after so many years, so many eons, but we recognize her as Hecate. Goddess of the Witches. It is from Hecateโs will that we, the witches of Salem, live. Her power lives on through us. It is through our actions that her legacy persists.
II. In Salem the real witches were we three: Elizabeth Parris, Mary Walcott, and Abigail Williams. We cast the accusations on other heads to preserve our own. No one thought the wiser, and our progeny grew strong with Hecateโs blessing. Through our protection, true magic was safe kept.
III. For the good of witch-kind, we will do what it takes to live on. Live on through our daughters. Live on through the plagues of mankind.
These are the three oaths of the Parris-Walcott School for Extraordinary Girls. This Academy, housed in New England, takes only the most prestigious of potential witches under its wings. The headmistresses, born from the pure blood of the Walcott bloodline and the Parris bloodline, promote next-level education and exemplary examples of their protegees. For almost two centuries, this school has withstood catastrophe and potential ruin. Witch-hunters of the North have attempted to tear down the school, and wipe out the girls within. Nevertheless, the school persists.
But our story is not about this school, nor its perfect girls.
Blythe Walcott, the daughter of headmistress Marie Walcott, petitioned about six months ago for a change to the system. Blythe, fed up with the elitist mentality of her family and its legacy, asked for a charter to start a school in the south. Married to a southern man, Blythe was privy to the discrimination and the lack of support of witch girls there. Sheโd seen the worst of it, and had felt at least six girls in the city of New Orleans alone with powers. Her mother and her aunt laughed, but granted her the charter. They expected the Parris-Walcott standard to be upheld, but Blythe had an ace up her sleeve.
She was prepared to accept all girls, regardless of โbloodlineโ. Whether they be voodoo, hedge magic or Salem witchblood, Blythe wanted to educate all. In her heart, she knew it was beneficial for witch-kind.
Her family gave her little to no funding for this venture, perhaps having smelled her treachery, and Blythe was left to scramble pennies to buy an empty estate, deep in the heart of Louisiana. So she opened her school, the Hecate Academy for Higher Learning.
But, despite the best intentions that Blythe Walcott hasโฆ evil lingers in the horizon. Opposing forces make their presence known, slowly.
Witch-hunters.
Rebel Witches.
And something else entirely...
I dont need to say them explicitly, but follow the site rules. Follow kindness for fellow players. This roleplay I hope to attract people who are interested in telling a story; not just playing a character to a pre-charted plotline. There are some elements that I want as an overarching plot, but I want us to devise things to do, things that can happen, and our own unique environment.
If there's enough interest garnered I'll make a Lore summation and open up the apps.
Thank you for your time!
note: roles I will be considering for this include; young witches of Hecate Academy, witch-hunters of Ozwall Private School (all male), a few teachers for Hecate Academy, and perhaps some faction-less characters. If you've got ideas, hit me up as well!
