I overthink my plots. I overthink partnering up. I overthink gameplay systems and where and who I'll run them for, and end up running none of them.
Let's not do that tonight. Tonight I'm gonna start a thread in ten minutes flat. Tonight I'm going to take a sip of brandy in the candlelight...
Hi Lillian, are you still looking for a GM with a setting? I've been playing with concepts around moral alignment, extraplanar cities, and the outer gods in the Pathfinder fantasy setting, and I'm happy to discuss opening a game with you.
Nice. I might re-make the thread more seriously at some point with scene and character samples.
A loose framework of 'stats' might be helpful for character generation, though I have no intention of using numbers or dice to resolve fights. Stuff like Mass, Reach, Range, Armour, Speed, Reflex...
Players enter with two characters: one on the MACHINE team, one on the MYTH team. Only one of these characters is in the arena at any given time. When that character wins a point*, they are TAGGED OUT and switched with the same player's alternate character on the opposite team. Characters on...
Izana x Yuhata, Knights of Sidonia manga. It's not so bad because the suddenness is funny, but it looks an awful lot like a heartbroken Izana settling for someone because the protagonist's heart is already taken.
I recently learned that some old players from one of my major roleplays in 2015 (or maybe earlier?) are still working on new content, eight or nine years on. That game was an iteration on a setting that had been around since about 2012, with lots of lore continuity, and we're still playing...
I love the Houseki no Kuni anime. The manga causes me pain because it wasted its ABUNDANT potential for bittersweet beautiful tragedy by churning out a trashy discount Madoka Magica twist instead. Not to mention all the lazy hand-waving turns the plot took to get there.
So now I have to live...
I like them about equally. There just aren't many fandoms I'm interested in as a roleplay setting. Only a few really 'click': Pathfinder, some Star Wars, some Pokemon, some other niche fandoms and RPGs like K6BD Broken Worlds. Others like Persona or RWBY are fine but harder to pull off in an...
I'm not really a fandom guy. I'd consider fantasy games in the Touhou, Pathfinder or K6BD settings, or possibly popular space opera settings. DM me for details I guess.
Name reveals. Names that are shown to be nicknames in order to reveal a real name. Characters known by their first name revealing their full name. The hidden meaning of a name spelled out at a climactic moment. I can't help it, it's such a cheap and saucy way to mark key moments in a character's...
Age of Empires II. I remember filling pages of blank drawing paper in primary school with marker doodles of ballistas and horsemen after playing my allotted half-hour each day with a kitchen timer. Pretty lucky to have had such a timeless game as my first exposure to vidya, and to history.
Good morning, bless you all,
I'm Termite, a long-time roleplayer across forums, chatrooms and tabletop campaigns. I have a particular niche / specialty in divine or mythic fantasy, which I've been playing for about ten years now, including designing point- and dice-based systems to play on...
