    With just one of these single liners, whenever met with an illogical mind, those lacking moderation and understanding, and/or those with no tolerance, they may be nuked so hard an argument ensues for months on end rather than civilized discussion. YAYEET!

    Yeah. Those guys. I'm gonna use them as a villain. I just want to know how to go about describing them. I was thinking of they themselves taking on some sort of non-corporeal form so that they would be impervious to missile weapons.

    Well heres my question.
    What type of role do you want them to have as a villain? By that i mean what sort of feel are you going for?
    The OH SHIT feel of never ending hordes descending upon us all like in AoC and GitM?
    The hopeless despair and paranoia of the Dredge?
    The feeling of complete ineptitude and uselessness like when Fighting a Foragers Corp marine?


    Because thats quite a big thing to keep in mind when describing the Big Bad. 

    If they had some sort of inability to be damaged the- ah for fucks sake here I am rambling. Can I have a bit more context?

    Basically, the Constructors were once a biological race of beings that evolved in the later days of the heat death of an alternate universe. A precursor race essentially, but from another universe. They witnessed the death of their universe and escaped across the universal membrane into our own where they found that our universe was not a steady state and would eventually decay. 


    This being the case, for the survival of their species, they began the construction of the Pylons: massive stations that absorb entropic force along a series of planned Laylines. Because entropy can never decrease in a closed system, the Constructors planned the Pylons to also transfer entropic force into pocket dimensions that could then be severed from the host universe, thus keeping net entropy gain at zero. (obviously this is some BS science) 


    This presented a huge engineering problem because not only would they need an unfathomable quantity of raw materials to construct the Pylons, the Laylines stretched across the Actual Universe. To solve this problem, they created a race of machines that had two primary directives: harvest materials to construct the Pylons, and replicate. 


    As eons passed, more and more worlds and civilizations had been destroyed by the machine constructors, and the Constructors themselves wondered if their endeavor could ever be completed or was worth completing. They split into two opposing camps, Loyalists who wanted to continue the project and Nihilists who thought that even if the project could be completed, it wasn't worth completing and that "all stories have a beginning and an end." They welcomed death as a comfort. 


    After a burdensome, long civil war the Nihilists chose to commit mass suicide and the Loyalists realized that in order to see the project to its end, they would have to do away with their physical forms. During the Transcension, they moved their consciousnesses en mass into a massive quantum computer called the Singularity, which resides on their Homeworld. From here, they can manifest themselves as particle apparitions anywhere with a Singular Interface, namely the construction matrices used by their machines. 


    Since then, the Constructors have been living out their lives in a computer simulation while their automated fleets pour out over the cosmos to construct the Pylons, with occasional interference by the Constructors themselves in the form of ghost-like apparitions.

    Red October... didnt they make a movie about that? I could have sworn... Bah no matter. 
    I live in righteous fear and respective of the opposite sex, we can blame my friend Nakira for that and my own damn characters. So fuck all if you think im going to piss off the spirit of a Nuclear Aircraft carrier or Submarine. When I have to live in her guts for 6 - 9 Months?
