Avery "Senja" Levine | Lone Sell-Sword
("As the Years Go By" - Johannes Bornlof)
Race - Prigallan//Ayruisian Half-Elf | Age - 24 Years | Gender - Female

  • Avery "Senja" Levine is a Half-Prigallan Elf who grew up in the Archipelago of Ayrui. Though having spent her childhood without her Prigallan mother, who died tragically to the Myrian Kurse, Avery's source of nurture and care came from her broken-hearted yet tenderly loving father, Dante Levine. At the age of nineteen, upon the death of her father as well, Avery inherited her father's estate and fell into a life of directionless obscurity.

    Backstory

Avery "Senja" Levine was the fruit of a thrilling love story between a nomadic Ayruin merchant, Dante Levine, and a Prigallan dancer from the deserts of Yaeshovah, Amelia. Having met during one of Dante's business endeavors in one of the villages on the outskirts of the empire, he and Amelia fell in love and moved to Mistshire, where they established a home for themselves. Though their beginnings were humble, by the time Avery was born, the Levine household managed to thrive and transform into a trading company, allowing Dante and Amelia to invest fully in Avery's life. Or so was the plan before Amelia fell ill with the Myrian Kurse and died shortly after her birth.

Dante was forever heartbroken over the loss of his wife, but the whole-hearted compassion that poured out consequently from his bleeding heart was always concentrated on Avery. Whatever was spared from his profit for their own spending was used to add to the extravagance of their estate, a haven with which he wanted to care for Avery yet would never have the courage to let her leave or grow beyond. Dante kept his daughter close to him always, and as a result, she was significantly deprived of a life beyond their manor.

At the age of nineteen, Dante died to the same Myrian Kurse that his wife did, though many often wonder if it was really the call of the ocean that lured him to drown or the compelling grief of his wife's fate. Regardless, still young and far too inexperienced, Avery was left with the company her father had left and an empty estate filled with an air of despair. The stress and politics of business were far beyond what Avery could care for, and it was by no means something she found joy in. It was simply a life of survival, maintaining all that was left behind on her shoulders and wondering what she could ever hope to do with her life.

Throughout that time, Avery would often ride out into the countryside and experience the freedom of exploration that she never had during her childhood. There was more relief for her out in the forests north of Ayrui and even in the desert of Prigalla than there was in the comfort of her own home, a place that she increasingly grew tired of. So, one day, she made the fateful decision to sell her father's company and purchase a manor along the western coast of Yaeshovah, a hidden place that was relinquished to her knowledge alone. Carrying the leftover profit from her deal, she abandoned Ayrui and rode out into her new estate, where she lived peacefully in isolation.

Caspian Tsiolis | Charismatic Fraud
("Nocturnal Waltz" - Johannes Bornlof)
Race - Lithian Human | Age - 28 Years | Gender - Male

  • Caspian Tsiolis is a Lithian con artist who fell far from his former aspirations of virtue and valiant service. After failing to join the Lithian Arcane Soldiers but receiving tutoring in magic from one of the higher-ranking soldiers, Caspian abandoned his moral and upright ways after his mentor's death and turned to a life of fraudulence. The blessings he receives from his magical abilities are now abused for pride, profit, and false prestige.

    Backstory

From a young age, Caspian knew in his heart that he had a remarkable gift for magic, regardless of his inability to prove it to others due to his complete inexperience and ignorance of the art. He treated himself with the mentality of a golden child yet was irked by all the disbelief of his peers and those around him. To protect his pride and prove them wrong, he resolved that he would join the Arcane Soldiers of Litha and become a renowned hero among their ranks since he was confident that their training would enable him to be the most blessed magic-user in all the realm.

At the age of 19, Caspian finally enrolled in the Lithian military. Though an obnoxious character to all of his superiors, it was undeniable that his strong determination was enough to drive him toward success in all the areas in which he trained. He surpassed many of his peers in ambition, hard work, and resilience, but he was never offered more to his position because of the veil of pride and narcissism that blinded him. He didn't care in the slightest for his comrades, and as a result, he could never be trusted as a leader above them. Thus, he was always overlooked.

Caspian began to grow furious with his lack of progress and the continuous doubt that was growing regarding his potential for success, to the point where he was on the brink of marching up to his captain and demanding recognition. However, just before his rashness could get ahead of him, one of the captains of the Arcane Soldiers approached him with an offer of mentorship. This was a moment for Caspian to rejoice; only the captain made his offer with the statement that Caspian was, in and of himself, a fatal flaw. His own self-image was his downfall in many ways, and the Captain's offer to mentor him was out of a desire to break his character and hopefully produce someone virtuous since he was, in fact, gifted. He simply lacked the serious character to make the most of anything given to him.

Caspian then spent the next few years under the mentorship of the captain, and to some extent, the specialized guidance did produce some virtue in his character. However, upon Caspian finally reaching significant progress, the captain mysteriously passed away. Though the situation was kept silent for the sake of order, many soldiers assumed and accused Caspian of being responsible for the captain's death, resulting in his quiet expulsion from the Lithian guard. In retaliation, Caspian abandoned all the virtues of his training and resorted to using the knowledge and skill he gained for his own material wealth and renown, parading around as a scholar, a hero, and a sorcerer.

"Aris Iyesgarth" | Rogue Agent
(Reminisce by Johannes Bornlof)
Race - Iyesgarthian Elf * | Age - 32 Years | Gender - Female

  • Aris is a rogue Special Operative for the city of Iyesgarth, now discretely labeled as a fugitive amongst the council. She has been rendered mute by the tattoo on her neck, a mark of her initiation when she pledged allegiance to the nobility of the city that can only be nullified by the council manually. After fleeing the council, she now exists as an aimless mercenary for the Order of Seekers, avoiding the rest of society, which she has no place in.

    Backstory

For the majority of her life, Aris lived in complete loyalty to the nobility of Iyesgarth. After her initiation, an arcane ritual that spiritually tempers the mind, memories of her past had gradually melted away, and her identity was relinquished to the hands of the city's council. From that point on, she followed orders without question, performing assassinations, delivering messages, and accomplishing any other menial yet tarnishing tasks that the council demanded.

The only shred of humanity that was still preserved for her was her secret friendship with another operative, whom she remembers as "Wallace." The two were often paired for their compatibility, and though it was years before they even gave each other the time of day, their history eventually led the two to interact. For the longest time, it was hard to tell if they could even consider themselves friends. However, one fateful day solidified his place in her mind forever.

Over time, the number of operatives had slowly diminished, though most dismissed it as casualties from missions and never gave it further thought. One night, though, in the operative barracks, long before sunrise, Aris was shaken awake by Wallace, who surprised her with something astonishing. "Get up," he said, which startled her even more than being awoken at that ungodly hour. When she looked up at him, the mark of silence on his neck was gone, and for the first time ever, she heard him speak.

"We have to leave," he said. Confused, she simply trusted him and began following him. He led her discretely through Iyesgarth, all the way to the city entrance before stopping and instructing her to leave and hide away for a while. She couldn't comprehend why, but he explained that he would reunite with her and make sense of it all afterward. "You've been a good one. I won't let things end here. Just keep an eye out for me," he said with a soft smile. After being left alone shortly after, as Wallace turned back to contact more of the operatives, Aris fled from Iyesgarth and disappeared from society.

Years had passed, and she never heard from him since, establishing herself within the Order of Seekers as a way of existing in the shadows till fate would have something of her. Any curiosity or aspiration dwindled in that time, and Aris' sole motivations now are to survive, comfortably, if possible, and create something of her own.
