Synove was born in the kingdom of Xeraphyne. As the only daughter of the king and queen, she is the heir for her kingdom and is probably in need of taking the throne. If marriage ever came up between any other kingdom, that prince would have to take over as Xeraphyne's king, not as their own. This stands as a problem, since she is afraid not many people will take her hand for the romance path all because she must stand strong and lead her own kingdom. However, her life isn't dull. As a very adventurous person (in her mind through fantasy tales and being alone), even depression can't reach her.

The Xeraphyne Kingdom is known for their well protected barriers, having well-trained soldiers that give the up-most respect for the royals with just loyalty. Synove's palace is nestled in the curves of mountains, giving up the vibe of freedom. The shoreline is not far, but the territory Xeraphyne covers is quite a lot. They stand as one of the biggest kingdoms, and one of the richest-but not the very top tier. Sometimes Synove enjoys quiet boat rides with her father, however, she most likely has her nose in a book. As a kid, her skills with a bow remain unmatched against her army; meaning she is not an enemy to mess around with.

Though, Synove is introverted. The Xeraphyne kingdom is not really the type to store libraries and shelves for books, so she is heavily deprived of what she wants. Yet, most of the time she lets other kingdoms ship her some for a fair trade. Xeraphyne's harbor is granted to be great for fishing, yet one of her most disliked foods is fish. She doesn't fair well with seafood, even though she was practically born besides it. This upcoming year the Jewel Box has reopened-and she knows she has to participate. When a soaring owl comes to hand her the letter, magic already swirls her appearance.

The Xeraphyne Kingdom is known for their celebration too, very traditionalized. Dancing and festivals around the townsfolk villages is most common, even though sometimes Synove's family dislike the poverty (excluding her). Lanterns are often hung out on a royal's birthday here.

The Libera Kingdom is a pacifist state and a kingdom of the arts. They are a newer and smaller kingdom compared to the others in size and are known for their flourishing flora. It is largely landlocked by surrounding kingdoms.

The illegitimate daughter of the Libera royalty and a struggling orchestra director, Atticus' existence was kept a secret to most of high society both because being unable to birth a male heir and of her status as a child of an impoverished citizen. She didn't understand why she could visit his mother, especially when they were in the lavish lifestyle of the rich and could save her father from ruin.

Due to a failing business, Atticus' father would dress him up and announce her as his son and prodigee whenever they would make a public appearance. Though described as a madman, Atticus remembered him as anything but the sort. A bright and flaming passion for the arts, the idealistic dream to create a world united by music that even he knew that couldn't be achieved. Atticus wanted to follow in his footsteps. After all, a happy world is a great one! Instrumental lessons, one man performances and even switching from her male visage every time her father would tell her to sway the masses she learned to appreciate.

On Atticus' 17th birthday, her dad had unexpectedly died due to illness. The orchestra that they had built together had crumbled and players would leave to pursue other activities. Heartbroken by his death, Atticus renewed her promise to her father to bring the kingdom, no, the world to peace with her music, by herself or otherwise. She was a street performer for a couple weeks before a grand carriage stopped. The elegant hand of her mother reached out to her, who came in news of her father's death and wanted to take Soleil in her wing at last.

Now? Out of all the times you could've showed up?

Unease, anger and frustration were all foreign emotions in Atticus' mind. Out of sympathy, ignorance or of a higher power seeking for her death because of her birth status was all unknown to Atticus but she was forcefully put in the carriage without consent by the guards. It didn't seem like Atticus would have a choice other than to accept her mother's offer.

At first, Atticus wanted to blend in with the palace servants and become a palace musician for the nobles to carry on her father's dreams faster but her mother had other plans. A proposal was set in front of Atticus.

"Please...forgive your mother. I'll take you in as our legitimate child if you would become our crown successor. The family is in a vulnerable state. All of our heirs have died or gone missing in battle and the count wants a successor as soon as possible. We'll grant any wish yo-"

Her mother didn't have to continue when Atticus heard that last sentence. After confirming a deal with her maternal family, she decided to commit to the constant switching between her male, gleeful heir of the family when there are any political arrangements and the female, sweet musician visage whenever she is free from the prying eyes of the royalty. Atticus' long hair that she had been growing has been cut shorter than it was before. At last, Atticus Angèle Bellamy of the Libera kingdom was heading out!

Despite living surrounded by elegance and manners, Atticus remains the same as she was before she was brought in: free-spirited and carefree, yet naive and reckless. She is devoted in pushing her and her father's shared ideal of a peaceful world brimming with music and cheer and is determined to make it happen, even if it is unrealistic. Through the blinding ideal she has been guided by with her father, Atticus is oblivious and her mind is up in the clouds, dreaming of an ideal that couldn't fully exist.

Even without lending a hand in her father's orchestra, Atticus is a natural born leader. Her upbeat, sincere and positivity spreads around like a virus, encouraging everyone to feel at ease around her. She doesn't mince her words and says her words in a very sincere manner. She can get rather passive-aggressive when delivering her piece of thought, however.

A habit on impulse when Atticus sets her heart on it and would do anything to stay in it's reach is a frequent habit of hers. Stemming from yearning for something she knows is unattainable yet is unable to act anything but her true self. Atticus has adapted well into her current life and show some signs of maturity however, she is still an oddball in social settings.

A hulking mountain of a man with every regard for how much space he occupies. He moves about like a polished, stiff board. Back straight, head forward, rigid but elegant. Defined musculature and warmly toned skin. His hair is a soft, wavy arrangement of jet black, flatteringly framing his sharp features. Brooding hazel eyes between dark lashes, seemingly stuck in a furrow. When embarrassed, the tips of his ears fare the worst, turning an indiscreet red. Albeit harrowing and commanding in aura, there is a gentleness to his broad hands.
PERSONALITY
Reserved, standoffish. The looming shadow that follows after a concealed sun. A mountain protruding from the horizon. Onyx is imposing in both appearance and demeanor, albeit not from a place of vanity or pride. There's a mystique to his reticence, his eyes—even when altered through the transformation magic—withholding a roiling storm. His interactions with others are often curt, matter-of-fact. Sparse in conversation but swarmed with intrigue. You'll never see Onyx excitedly blabber about an interest, or get heated over a disagreement. He appears almost incapable of expressing strongly or candidly. A staunch wall of guarded expression.

Unintentional intimidation factor notwithstanding, one might notice Onyx will never raise his voice, will never grab at anyone without their awareness, and if able, will position himself lower so the other person need not crane their neck at his height. His consideration is a quiet, soft-spoken specter. Revealed only to those keen enough to spot it. Walking beside someone to block the wind from disheveling them, a cautionary arm extended to block an impending collision, interjecting in an uncomfortable social interaction to provide an escape. His gentleness shines in the concealed, arbitrary moments he shares with others.

Some question his decision in entering the Jewel Box. A man of his shielding doesn't seem the type eager for a romantic connection, nor the most romantic. But rest assured, Onyx's deepest desire is to connect. Years of war and turbulence have left him with the ineptitude of socialization. He is at his most comfortable when in the throes of battle where little but the clashing of blades are exchanged. He wants to live outside of that space now; he wants to occupy a realm of sensitivity and honesty. Of trusting someone enough to sleep beside them. Of smiling over a shared interest without the competition of whose better. Of opening one's heart without fear that it will be flayed for its vulnerabilities. But he's a newborn doe in that regard, stumbling awkwardly and inexperienced.

BIOGRAPHY
Ares was raised alongside war like a kicking, selfish, crying sibling. It took his liberty, occupied his day-to day, and by the end there was little of himself left. His Great-grandfather was the leader of a rebellion which lead to a civil war, a colony of people defecting, banished, and forced to leave in the harsh climate of the snowy peaks. A jagged mountain range dubbed the 'Dragon's Maw' for it's uneven points and massive heights. There, the colony of Skaldur was created and steadily formed into a small kingdom.

Conditions in Skaldur were tough. Only the strongest survived. A great emphasis was placed on men to hone their swordsmanship and combat. Polished into refined soldiers to be sent out into the still ongoing war between Skaldur and its neighboring kingdom. When Ares' father took charge as ruler, his influence was felt across Skaldur. He was brutal, unforgiving, but loyal to his people. Whatever atrocities were committed were simply a means to an end.

Ares became the youngest war general on the council, expected to fight and lead in the current war and those to come. Most his days were spent sparring, planning, and preparing for attack. After his mother was taken hostage, is father's desperation grew to dangerous levels. He sent Ares' older brothers across continents for allies, but at points only found more enemies. The nobility of Skaldur weren't the most diplomatic and held a monstrous pride. Conflicts between other nations grew more than their list of allies.

While the heat of invasions and active battle have subsided, Skaldur and its people are afraid and in desperate need of healing. When Ares received an invitation to the jewel box, he nearly declined it. It felt like a betrayal to his people, like he was running away from their plight. But he realized if he could bond with someone and become ruler of Skaldur, then he could shape and mend his home for the better alongside his partner.

Appearance
Ashryn is a petite female, standing around five feet 3 inches in real life. Her hair is slightly curled into ringlets and falls to her knees in a curtain of deep black(almost navy blue in tone). She has almond-shaped eyes which are a stunning turquoise tone. Long black eyelashes frame her eyes, making the turquoise color pop intensely. Often in real life, she wears a skirt or dress with a slit down her thigh, giving her ample opportunity to lash out if needed. She has a dagger strapped to her inner left thigh and one near her ribs, hidden by her corset. She does have a tiara of amazonite and peridot shaped into a swirl of floral designs. She has sun-kissed tanned skin and bow-shaped lips that are pink.

In the Jewel Box, her hair is the same length, but instead of being down it is braided into a delicate hairstyle half-up/half-down and turned a brilliant light teal fading into a light sky blue at the tips. Her eyes also shift from turquoise to a sea green with light blue flecks speckled throughout them. For the Jewel Box, she wears a gorgeous dress that is dark navy blue with an overlay that is lighter blue fading into a dark navy blue that shifts into violet between the two shades. The sleeves are long, attached to the dress through metal that swirls elegantly across her shoulders and back. Sapphire stones intermixed with blue apatite decorate the chain along her back, making a chiming noise when she walks. Her shoes are more often than not heeled boots or heeled sandals. Her skin tone stays the same but her height varies slightly, making her appear a bit shorter than her actual height.

Personality
Overall:
Apatite's personality tends to lean towards being an enigma. She is a bit on the unusual side for her kingdom. She is fiercely protective and loyal to those she cares about. She can be a bit cold and distant at first glance though. Overall, Ash is super kind and sweet-tempered once you get to know her honestly. She is a kindred soul to many. Ashryn has a true desire for peace, but when it comes down to it she views the truth behind the royals of her kingdom as a fake lie. Brutally honest, and patient to an extent but has some very bad trust issues. Cautious of literally anyone, gaining her trust takes time and patience.

Ashryn is shy, quiet, and oftentimes nose-deep in a book or enjoying the outside. She is patient and is adaptable. She will just go with the flow most time. She is a motivated princess who will always provide advice when necessary. She isn’t overly outgoing and dislikes any attention whatsoever honestly. She is an optimist and realist mix. She is also known as the 'Ice Princess' - given the nickname after hearing about the Queen being her mother (and her nickname being the 'Ice Queen'). Apatite is cool and collected when you first meet her, giving off the impression of being a composed and elegant royal. While she has some decent bonus sides to her, she is wary of royals. She prefers to help those in need... not that her family ever really cared about her anyways. She has a hard time trusting others and prefers to work alone overall. When in teams she tends to be the voice of reason and the quiet one.

In Real Life:
As the Queen-to-be of her city, in real life, you would view this girl as a diplomat. She arbors violence to no end and she prefers to keep things strictly peaceful when possible. However, her city will always come first - therefore if there is a threat that can not be dealt with peacefully, she will be wrath incarnate. She is kind and many look up to her as an example of a true queen. She technically can not take the throne unless she marries, despite the fact she already does most decision-making and takes care of her kingdom. Ashryn is a bit of an optimist - able to find the positive in almost any situation (and it is one of her downsides too). She is intuitive, fueling her sensitivity to wrongdoings. If you lie to this girl, she will hold a grudge for ages. Lying to her is the worst idea you could ever come up with and she will never trust anyone who lies to her (and if you think winning her trust back will be easy ... do you have another thing coming!)
Backstory: Childhood
Sionia is a unique kingdom, being well-known for the performing arts and the incredible oceans that surround it. Sionia is an island and is governed by a matriarchy. The Queen has the highest power, whereas the king (or queen) holds the background. While most would assume the King or partner to Sionia's Queen has the most power, it is rumored that this isn't the truth. Ashryn was born the first of three siblings. As the eldest, she was required to be the 'perfect' princess and heir to the throne of her kingdom. Saphielle, the youngest princess, was born blind and was killed (though it was rumored that the queen killed her by poisoning her food) and there were rumors that it was an assassination by another kingdom. When Saphielle was killed, Ashryn was heartbroken and walled off her personality and her emotions to better protect herself. Sadly, Ashryn is not the most...healthy of individuals - having gotten sick as a child and thus fighting off getting sick daily. Her mother, Queen Cerridwen, tried to just distance herself from her daughter - forcing the law that should Ashryn wish to take the throne she would have to marry.

Now, I mentioned Saphielle being the youngest daughter, but there was a prince. Prince Kerym was born and Cerridwen doted on him nonstop. She was so happy to finally have a strong boy that she completely ignored Ash. While Ashryn didn't show the hurt she felt, it broke her heart to see her mother so enamored with her little brother, and the fact she didn't exist... broke her heart. Sadly, since Cerridwen was so focused on spoiling her son, she forgot the kingdom still had to be run - and thus, Ashryn stepped up to the plate. Ash had been doing her mother's work for years... and no one (except the public and her citizens) noticed the change of ruling.
Backstory: Teenage to Adulthood
Kerym and Ashryn butted heads nonstop, the prince always finding some way to pin blame and get his older sister into trouble. To put it simply, Kerym was spoiled with a capital S. There was no love lost between the two siblings, and in all honesty, he hoped that his sister wouldn't marry by the time she turned 26 because if she didn't then the throne (despite everything she did and the governing party being female) would be passed onto him. The only reason Cerridwen had decided on the rule was so power wouldn't go to her eldest. Ashryn hated every single second, but the responsibility and her love for her city ... her kingdom... overruled her desire to be in the background. So when every single teenager was busy with parties, dancing, singing, and doing what they loved - she was ruling her kingdom with kindness, loyalty, and fairness. Something many knew Cerridwen lacked. Going into adulthood, many called the princess "Ice Queen" or "Winter's Gem" in honor of her cool/collected demeanor, and her kind soul. She was well known in her kingdom for interacting with her subjects, always finding time to indulge the kids and even get her hands dirty when it came down to it.

While she was picked for the Jewel Box this year, Ashryn knew she had to be careful because some kingdoms were rumored to have tense relations with Sionia (plotting open here), and some were there to take advantage of the fact the Queen-to-be was chosen. Rumors spread like wildfires and it was obvious that Ryn would have to play her cards in the right sense. Now, while the law stated to take the throne, she ha to marry ... there was one small fact Cerridwen forgot about - which was that her daughter was bi and had a preference for females over males. And she forgot that in making the law, the stipulation was that Ashryn would marry - not to who, not to a specific kingdom, and not to a specific gender... it just stated that she marry before her 26th birthday. However, there were one or two kingdoms said to want positive trade relationships - as Sionia was well-known for their jewelry, songwriting, and dances.

During her teenage years, the only escape Apatite had was her lyrics and her songs. As such, when a young common fisherwoman overheard her soft voice, she suggested that Ashryn use it to her advantage. Which is exactly what she did. Taking on the alias of WINTER, Ashryn soared to new heights as her songs gained popularity. While she also enjoyed her singing, her skills with beadwork were unmatched, and most commoners loyal to the princess, wear her jewelry proudly.

Claustrophobia - Tight, small spaces make this girl feel extremely restless and can cause her to hyperventilate almost immediately. It is just as bad as her fear of storms and sudden, loud noises.

Astraphobia - Storms make Apatite extremely nervous and fidgety, in other words, she isn't a fan period.

High Altitudes - One thing about Apatite she hates heights. They make her extremely dizzy and not a fan. High altitudes also cause her some nausea.

Her mother - It is no secret that Cerridwen and Ashryn don't get along, at all. However, the fact remains that the more powerful of the duo is Cerridwen, and therefore Ash has valid reason to fear her. Plus, there are rumors the queen has attempted to assassinate her eldest for her son to take the throne.

Cerridwen and Ashryn don't get along period. Ashryn holds a deep, deep-seated hatred for her mother and can easily cuss up a storm if brought up. Ash is not a fan of royals in general. Cerridwen views her eldest as a means to an end and despises her easy knack for ruling.

Kerym and Ashryn are mortal enemies - both vying for the throne of Sionia. While Kerym used to look up to his sister, the doting Cerridwen gave him overtook that loyalty immediately. Her words and hurtful accusations quickly lodged into his young mind thus pinning him against his sister. He hates her and wants the throne to himself. He thinks he would be a much better ruler than Apatite and will do anything to see his sister not marry so he can take over.

Despite all the family drama, Ashryn still cares about him. She may not show it and the hurt and pain she feels is buried deep into the lyrics of her songs as WINTER. While she says she doesn't care, she does deep....deep down, and will always do so.

[1] Sionia: A small Island kingdom, located just off of the coast of Cardea. This little kingdom is well-known for its performing arts and jewelry-making skills. WINTER is a well-known singer around all of Cardea (and is secretly Ashryn) and is known for her music. Sionia has amazing places to snorkel/dive and the only way to reach the small kingdom is by boat. Sionia has taken part in wars before, but currently due to Ryn's hard work, remains neutral without interest in fighting ever. This kingdom is run by a queen and so far it is assumed that a king will be needed (but the law remains obscure - only stating that for Ashryn to take the throne she needs to marry before she turns 26).

Golden Pearl is a man of many layers. In the Jewel Box, he tries to present himself as an embodiment of chivalry. He plays the role of the timid people pleaser trying to step out of his comfort zone for the sake of love. Sincere, kind, respectful, loyal to a fault, and easily flustered, Golden Pearl’s image has been carefully crafted to have an endearing quality to him. A hopeless romantic who does his best to make everyone happy. A noble royal who has an idealistic view on the world and tries to believe in the best in people. An heir with a pure heart who could not even fathom lying or hurting anyone, despising such a notion. This is who Golden Pearl pretends to be.

But behind the shy smiles and sheepish laughs, a manipulative and calculated mastermind lies underneath. Occasionally, there may be moments where the mask comes off. An observation that is much too keen to be something Golden Pearl claims to have simply noticed. His smile strains slightly while a comment leaves the supposed people pleaser’s lips that is meant to stun someone to silence. A snarky remark escapes him when his patience reaches a limit. And it’s in those moments, the real Golden Pearl is revealed. Or at least who he sees himself as.

Underneath the image he so carefully crafted, Golden Pearl is a quiet but confident schemer with a sharp tongue and even keener eyes. Having been villainized for most of his life, Golden Pearl has embraced the public perception, delighting in causing mischief and seemingly always willing to do what needs to be done to achieve his goals. He keeps to himself, rarely opening his heart to others, with an idealism being a ruse that covers up his much more pessimistic view on the world. He expects others to hate him when they know who he is. So why should he expect any different? What matters is he gets what he wants with his resolve and ambition being something he made to be feared. So Golden Pearl works alone. He stands by, observing all, waiting for the perfect opportunity, deceiving and manipulating whoever to make all the pieces fall into place.

Yet there lies a much more vulnerable man behind all these walls. One who cares so very deeply for those who manage to touch his heart. One who is well-intentioned, simply trying to do what’s best for a kingdom that he knows despises being stuck with him. One who is trying to make a world his brother would’ve wanted. A man who feels deep senses of shame and guilt when he truly hurts someone, even though he feigns nonchalance. A man so desperate for connection again but so terrified to reach out and risk being hurt again, he instinctively pushes everyone away. Leaving Golden Pearl more alone than ever on this stage the world has created for him. He’s just an actor. Stuck in a role he never chose. But now it’s all he knows.

And he hates himself for that.

He enjoys learning about insects, both out of curiosity and a quiet kinship with them due to how many are hated for simply well... existing. His favorites are butterflies and moths, finding their wings to be some of the most beautiful patterns in the country.

The Beach
Visiting it often when he needs space, he finds the beach to be a shelter from the struggles of life. The sound of the waves, the breeze in his hair, the feelings of the sand under his feet. It's soothing.

Strategy Games
If you want to see him smile, challenge him to chess or any other kind of board game or card game that requires strategy. He delights in it all, finding it stimulating for the mind but a good way to relax. So prepare for him to be very intent on absolutely destroying you and being very smug about it when he does.

While he would look into them to get ready, he's not a fan of staring into his reflection for long. His eyes always notice some flaw. Some indicator of how much of a mess he has become. Some other reason to despise his current state in life. It's only worsened in the Jewel Box as now... he can't help but think of how he resembles his brother as Golden Pearl.

Sailing
As much as he hates to admit it, he gets seasick really easily. And he prefers not to make a fool of himself.

Nobles
Yes, he is aware he is one. However, after years of being excluded and mistreated by most of the upper class, he can't help but automatically regard them with some distaste, being much more distrustful of any kindness they display. After all, all the tips and tricks he knows in manipulation and deceit were all thanks to nights of observing the nobles who'd attend Ora's balls.

Wasting Time
He is someone who likes getting tasks done as quickly and efficiently as possible. Thus, when there is work to be done, he hates being separated or distracted from it, quick to return to it when he can. All while growing increasingly crabby the more times he's interrupted.

Public Speaking
He is used to his words being twisted and used against them. So the idea of making long speeches that grant even more opportunities for people to do just that. No thank you. He usually makes such things as quick and curt as possible even if it makes him look bad. Better than waste his time on an actual speech that can be tainted by rumors and biases against him.

Equinophobia
Listen, horses don't like him and as a result, he doesn't like them. He is happy avoiding them, thank you very much.

Astraphobia
Storms always made him anxious, especially with his kingdom being along the coast. One tidal wave and so much can be destroyed. The death of his brother only exacerbated these fears, with any signs of storms causing him to get on edge.

Proditiophobia
He is someone who cares very deeply when someone manages to get close to him. So the idea of someone stabbing in the back when he is at his most vulnerable, with all his defenses meant to protect him lowered. That terrifies him.

Entomology
He enjoys reading about and studying insects in the wild when he has the free time. He can't engage in much studying in the wild, usually just reading in his study nowadays. Still, he is unable to hide his excitement when seeing a bug, especially a butterfly or a moth.

Wine-Tasting
Having engaged in quite a bit of drinking before becoming heir to the throne to "be the disgrace of a prince everyone thought he was", he found himself enjoying the challenge of differentiating the flavors in each bottle of wine he had. While he drinks rarely nowadays, after a stressful day, sometimes he opens a bottle and tries to guess what makes this bottle taste different from the others he has tried.

Playing the Violin
As expected of all royals of Ora, he was expected to learn an instrument to engage in the arts and become more of a well-rounded and cultured figure. He grew partial to the violin, continuing to play it at the time even if he lacked an audience or an accompanying pianist like he used to when he and his brother would play for his mother.

Backstory
"Yes. I am the bastard child who somehow ascended to the throne. How did you know?"
Born from an affair between the queen and one of the soldiers, Alessandro had a life designated for hardship upon being born. The king was quick to suspect the affair upon the birth of the second son and thus, was distant with Alessandro all of his life. Always treating him harshly. Quick to blame him when he was associated with any incident. Treating him as a stain on the family tree. Never being a father to him because he was not a child he sired. And unfortunately, Alessandro was shown this treatment by servants, other nobles, and the kingdom itself. It was easy to suspect he was from an affair and he was punished for it.

The only people kind to him were his mother, who refused to let the treatment she received for entering an affair ruin the relationship she had with her second son, and his older brother and the heir of the throne, Vincenzo. With the latter being close to his age, the two were quick to become close friends, often being seen running off together. Unfortunately, as they grew older, the king's bias towards Vincenzo began to tear them apart. The king began to isolate Vincenzo so he can focus on preparing him to be the king while villainizing Alessandro, claiming him to be a bad influence. And everyone else followed with any trouble he and Vincenzo got into, resulting in all the blame being placed on Alessandro. Eventually, Alessandro embraced this reputation, acting out, spending nights out on the town, frequently drinking. Acting like the stain on the royal bloodline he was told he was since birth. Unfortunately, this behavior led to him and Vincenzo growing more and more distant to the point where he didn't see Vincenzo off to his trip abroad to look over some trade agreements with another kingdom, off galavanting for the heck of it. His biggest regret in life with a storm hitting Vincenzo's ship when he was coming home. There were no survivors.

With no other royal children, Alessandro was quick to realize he was now the heir to the throne of Ora. And he felt more alone than ever, unsupported and untrusted. He was the deceitful rakish second prince that no one wanted to be king. Even his mother and he grew distant after an argument during Vincenzo's funeral, where his mother, upon noticing the lack of emotion he was showing, let her grief drive her into shouting how he was just as bad as the rumors said he was. Out of shame and guilt from her words, she distanced herself. And Alessandro refused to close the gap after what was the most devastating betrayals of his life. Nonetheless, Alessandro threw himself into his work, bettering himself and his habits to do his best to become the king that could provide for his people as he did his best to engage with politics. Even if he had no supporters. However, there was one issue. Like all royals of Ora, he was expected to marry before ascending the throne for the sake of their image and the possibility of attaining an heir. While he had no interest in siring a heir, he knew he could not avoid this expectation to at least take on a spouse. Unfortunately, no nobles in Ora desired to marry the bastard prince and no foreign kingdoms showed interest. That was when the invitation to the Jewel Box appeared. Seeing the opportunity to secure a partner and strengthening alliances between kingdoms (and even secure more territory), Alessandro was quick to jump at the opportunity, hatching up the strategy of posing as a princely gentleman to secure a spouse. Is it deceitful and malicious? Perhaps but... did anyone expect better of the bastard prince?

Ora
A kingdom located on the coast of the mainland of Cardea, Ora serves as a valuable trading center for the country, a wealthy, if not the wealthiest kingdom as a result. Its status has led to it holding many beneficial but tense alliances with Ora serving as a pacifist neutral kingdom that avoids conflict with other nations to not risk breaking any alliances, often housing refugees from war. As a result, Ora is a populous and more industrialized nation filled with a variety of industries. However, it’s most well known for its fishing industry, wine-making industries, and the developments in broadcasting and communication technology the kingdom has sponsored.

Despite being a relatively patriarchal society, the heir can be whatever gender with the kingdom’s first ruler being a queen. However, due to the pride present among the upper class, the heir must always possess royal blood, with it being expected for the rulers to be able to produce an heir but not mandatory.

Brief Backstory:

Lady Lavinia de Montford wasn't often liked by others ever since she was a child, not because she did anything wrong.. okay maybe she did- but it was mostly because of her lineage. The Montford family was burdened for years because of a tremendous scandal her grandparents made that altered the course of their lineage (still working on the lore)
Because of this, her parents had often been trying to lay off the burden but always ended up with worse reputation.. they would have been stripped of their noble status if it weren't for her Mother who participated in the Jewel Box as Green Opal who married off to the Duke of the Kylia Kingdom and had a child
Lavinia was raised and taught how to be more like her mother, someone who successfully removed the burden of their ancestors (father side) and had donated a lot to charity.
Lavinia, still feels as though she still has to work hard to not be a disappointment, thus she tried to study, a lot.. especially in the medicine field.
Growing up, Lavinia didn't have too much of friends, she had a few but even her closest friends would talk behind her back, despite her mother's inspiring. reputation, they doubt that she could be like her parents. So a simple explanation, they didn't like her simply because they don't believe she could reach the same level as her mother. Because of this she vowed to become a great lady, a successful woman. Eventually her studies paid off, she graduated in her studies and acquired a good job, she had good friends, and a husband.. who then had an affair with another lady and thus they broke off... . Ashamed of what happened, she isolated herself in her room for days when she received an invitation from Moon Owl, to the Jewel Box. She didn't hesitate to accept because she wanted to prove to fate, that she can be a great woman, who will fall in love, get married and have a good future.

She has kind of a good relationship with her mother.. she admires her but feels overshadowed by her success.. living under her shadow, following her footsteps and all. While her father on the other hand.. well, while he does show her love and support he has a habit of mostly has been giving her false ideas to ensure that she stays in the right path that he wanted for her.
Also her father lowkey disappeared when she turned 18... no one really knows how or why.. but rumors blame her and her father for it.. with all this happenning to her family, it's no wonder they were called a Cursed family.
But before her father left, Lavinia had already suspected him of doing shady business with some people from the _____ Kingdom, Her father was a powerful man, but also biased towards the imperial family, he has secretly hated the Royal family of Kylia for reasons no one knows.
Did I mention she had a sister who died due to a rare illness?
Yes, ever since her sister died due to an illness, Lavinia had been practicing and learning about medical herbs.. she hopes to never have anyone she holds dear suffer anymore from any illness..

The Kingdom of Galdoria is most present as 'The Fine Arts'. All citizens understand the physics of how to move like a graceful swan. Dancing at hosted balls and decorating homes with pleasing aesthetic means you are fitting in. For Valentin, he sees this as a major problem. Glitters here, glitters there, it's not actually all that if he had to figure. Playing musical instruments of any kind is highly honored, as using one's fingers to provide pleasant noises is quite the treat to most who hears it. He actually has a special interest in listening to folks playing the biwa, though it's an odd request.

Every day spoken on Valentin's birthday, it is said men and women, boys and girls, and all else who want to come and watch gather to share a dance for the prince. His parents had made this tradition mostly because he rarely cracks a smile. Any person to get him to do this will happily take his hand in marriage. Of course, Valentin had nothing against this. Not because his family would fail miserably every time, but because he wouldn't find anyone himself.

For many months, until it gravitated to his final age, Valentin spends his time alone to photograph or practice with his sword. Most princes are doomed to also head into an army at some point, though it also depended on how risky it would be, but Valentin would jump in any day. It cured his boredom and longing. Even the loud battle cries wouldn't nerve him. His personal scout, assistant, and advisor is the only person he finds easy to talk to-probably because that very person was the only one who understood him.

Soon enough, the Kingdom of Galdoria was flushed into a sea of war. It was random, but it seem that a popular trading route for Valentin's kingdom was blocked off by a neighboring palace. His father was enraged, cutting ties with such royal family and demanding a payback for all the things his family done for the other. Valentin wasn't so keen on this, as it kept everyone in his household on their toes. An attack could come any time, now that he saw it.

After one sighting of a stranger down by the railroads of the same trading site, Galdoria's soldiers were sent daily. On a shift, Valentin opted to move forward, and had eventually gotten caught up on a bloody mishap. The fight caused him to break is arm, but it has healed over time. The duration of his next birthday was actually returning, and every night did he feel anxiety. That year was terrible, so it was reasonable, but a gut feeling told him he was going to make a mistake.

Yet, Valentin's fate was saved. Just on the night before his birthday, a special note was flown over to him. The bright lights that mesmerized him welcomed Valentin inside a Jewel Box. His body and appearance changed-like a doll made for a story. A game of truth and lies, he had needed this ever since he became so 'emotionless' to possible partners. Will his world brightened, now that this opportunity has come? Or will it just die at the end, like always?
