Episode 1: Live, Laugh, Love

The Eternal Lark

The abandoned amusement park was silent as the wind caressed lightly through its wide open spaces, only hitting into the occasional billowy tent or dilapidated structure that housed some equipment.

It had become a place that people liked to sneak away to. Wether as a makeout spot. Or as a light night ghost hunting spot. At present, they seemed to have gone undisturbed by the hidden creatures that lingered just beneath in the shadows. Shadows that many avoided due to the still deep burden of Abyssos and its world killing destruction.

For now, the front parking lot of the former amusement park has been opened to the public. It seems that a small, local carnival is being held upon the grounds. The joy and laughter can be heard throughout, awakening The Eternal Lark from its most recent “slumber”.

Carnies seem to either be at their individual booths of games consisting of get the ring on the bottle, dunk the drunk, pop the balloon or even ring the bell with the mallet. Or they were operating clearly unsafe rides such as the small dragon roller coaster, the balloon drop or the flying saucer.

Townies seemed the be having lost of fun. They were playing the games, enjoying the rides or partaking in carnival treats.

It had been so long since the true joy of laughter had been heard in the park. Would it come again? Or would this be the final chance that they had to seize such laughter for themselves and bring joy?

BREAK POINT:

1.Attack the Carnival
2. Silently take over the carnival
3. Join in the Revelry

The Open Palm Clan

The most successful pizza restaurant in the region has been having a massive amount of success. Its second location was just as delicious as the first. People were always happy with the service as the pizza comes out at a regular interval after being ordered. The food is always thought of as on point and delicious, even between the two locations, there seems to be no discernible difference.

There was just one problem. A new, rival pizza place called ‘Pizza Rat’ opened up across the street. Early reviews show worse customer service, but pizza that is “out of this world”. An all female service crew wearing semi revealing clothing so that their patrons can google the staff.

It begins to take away your business. And if left alone, could hurt your bottom line for gaining money to fund your nefarious deeds.

BREAK POINT:
1. Call May McDonald with an anonymous fake scoop about the Pizza Rat
2. Send in some Ninjas to sabotage the Pizza Rat
3. Frontal Assault on the Pizza Rat

T.R.U.E.

The world has been a dark place in recent times, but now, four months after the world was the closest that it had ever been to destruction, it is finally starting to emerge from the darkness that had been embraced as a cocoon. Instead, it has emerged as a place where people have helped one another and come together, to grow stronger and recover from the wounds that were left upon the soul.

The T.R.U.E. organization was one that the government constructed in order to help with situations like this. From the Rangers themselves, all the way down to the support staff that worked in the background to make their jobs easier and a great success.

An alert came upon the screen as the woman working the comms channel announced and brought it up for the Rangers to see.

A Lone Lobster monster was causing havoc in the downtown. People were running to and fro, trying to get to safety.

BREAK POINT:
1. Engage the monster with all TRUE rangers
2. Have some engage the monster while other of the team evacuate the civilians
3. Engage the Monster while calling local police to evacuate the civilians

Episode 1: Terrorist or Freedom Fighter?
The Rebellion

The world’s governments have gone too long with being ineffectual tools of the world’s elites. They let millions die, all to line their own pockets with money. Blood Money, it should be considered.

The true enemy of the people were those that claimed to rule. They are not the true rulers of the people. The people can and should rule themselves. No one should have control over them. Just like no one has control of the World Rebellion that is to emerge from a chrysalis of scalding fire and twisted metal.

Due to more corrupt machinations of the governments of the world, they have left some valuable structure exposed and vulnerable to oblivion. If they had any sense, this would not be the case. But if you ask anyone, their sense had left them long ago.

It is now the time to strike out against one of these targets, to let the haggard citizens of the planet know that it is the time to rise up.

To let them know that destruction will lead the way to a brighter future.

BREAK POINT:
1. Bomb a Post Office
2. Bomb a Library
3. Bomb an Archive

All that exists are rumor and hearsay about this organization. What is known is that a singular woman is the voice that calls out to the group. It is not known if that is their true leader or if she is merely a puppet.

But what is known is that is mysterious woman broadcasts to the terrorists that roam the world. If she is not stopped, countless others might flock to their cause and make the world a worse place to live.

But for now, there is no way to track her. Only possible leads on some cells in the region.

BREAK POINT:
1. Investigate a string of robberies of high level technology
2. Infiltrate a Fight Club that might be a recruitment location
3. Sting Operation on a weapons merchant

Episode 1: Shadows Over
Yonder

Connor the Apprentice

The Lord of Nightmares continues to grow in power safely from within his own found realm. Comforted in the knowledge that he has not only killed the man who killed his brother, but also obtained THE EGG.

With its power, he will continue to amass greatness around him. Forces that more than equal other “villains” or even the Rangers themselves. Soon enough, they will all be added to the Lake and give him even more power.

The rangers that had had touched were still connected to him on some way. Especially the leader of the Star Serpents. But that was a problem for another day. For now, there was energy to collect. To help him grow and further expand his powers.

For Connor the Apprentice, this was all only the beginning.

Beneath where the Old mansion had resided, he can detect a source of energy. It is faint and it is only due to his own large amounts of power that he can even pick it up. But it is certainly under the ground.

But it is there.

BREAK POINT:
1. Personally investigate the energy
2. Send a Lieutenant to search for the energy
3. Ignore this source as a waste of your valuable time

The Wild Rangers

These last four months have been a time of grieving and a time of pain. Not just for the rangers themselves, but also for the world at large. The destruction was on a large scale, but luckily for most, it had been stopped before the death toll had been far too high.

It was still a tragedy. But one that they had a part in stopping before it became one of such epic proportions that could have caused the end of the world as they had all known it. As it was, the world picked up the pieces and had finally begun to move on once again.

The forces of Hexxus had been quiet in all that time. Were they merely regaining their strength and biding their time? Or had they been hurt as well from Abyssos and are still recovering?

Only time will tell.

A charity event raising money for those who lost during the Abyssos Event was being held at the local roller skating rink: Spinning Wheels. It seemed to be a pretty packed event. A lot of people want to help others, it seemed.

BREAK POINT:
1. Go to the Event in civilian Mode
2. Go to the Event as Rangers
3. Spread word of the Event

The Obsidian Ranger

Shadows. Even now, Vivian has a far different feel from her time in the shadows about things than others did. She felt the immense guilt of each of the 7 million deaths that were caused by, in her mind, herself.

The death toll could have been far higher. Anyone knew that. It was only due to the quick intervention by many rangers and even some villains that put a quick stop to the creature that was known as Abyssos.

The one who had called to her and made her feel special……

But things are different now for her. She was becoming part of the group. And she still had her good friend, Wolf Howlitzer. At least he didn’t abandon her. She needed a good friend in this strange transitionary time.

A flier crossed her while she was out in the community. A large charity event being held for those who lost during the Abyssos Event. A large crowd seems to have gathered around it.

BREAK POINT:
1. Go to the Event as a civilian
2. Go the Event as a Ranger
3. Hide away in the Base

Episode 1: Beyond the Stars

Digital Front

This alternate realm was one of potential. A world that had its civilization destroyed was one that was ripe for the plundering to allow him the Digital Front to gain the necessary resources to gain control of HIS universe.

The digitalization of civilization is on track. He would not brook any sort of dissent from any within his organization. Not from any of his minions and certainly not from any of his lieutenants. One such lieutenant was forever on his mind.

The Tallyman. Someone whose heart was never truly in the realm of the next. Only in the self serving profits that made him improve over all others. His signal was lost and had not been regained in the four interim months. But it was doubtful that he was gone. He was too smart for that. Far too sneaky and survivalist. Which was a big part of what had driven him to the cause in the first place.

But, for now, there was an opportunity to make some inroads back on the ground. Roads that were lost to a certain shadow ranger only so many months ago.

BREAK POINT:
1. Invest in a shell company for Construction
2. Invest in a shell company for Robotics
3. Invest in a shell company for Medical care

Star Serpents

Too much had happened in such a short time. Too much that was not only hard to comprehend, but even harder to reconcile. Connor, the self proclaimed Lord of Nightmares had taught her much. But he also ignited a deadly force that tried to absorb all life in the universe.

But there must be good within him. Yes. There absolutely has to be some good within that man. She couldn’t seem to accept otherwise even though all around her thought differently.

She separated herself from the rest of the team. It was the only way. They couldn’t help her and she didn’t want them to get caught up in all of what she was planning to do. It was the right thing to do by them, her team. She cared about them. She cared about them so much that she couldn’t let them get into all the danger.

Last time, people got hurt. This time…..that wouldn’t happen.

The leader of the Star Serpents had plans. Or at least parts of plans. Time would tell how they would succeed.

BREAK POINT:
1. Attempt to channel magical energy to track Connor
2. Attempt to create a device to track Connor
3. Continue to Train more in the magical arts first

At least until he had regained his strength and then some…..

He would need to expand his operations onto the surface so that he CAN become stronger. For that, he has a few options.

Good for if he wants to find some additional rangers for his team. The hospital has become one of the more prolific ones in the region.

One of the support staff brought something interesting to the Dr’s attention. It was some strange genetic goop that had been discovered in the ruins of a secret laboratory from underneath a Genetika Corporation facility.

Bright Future

Turn 1

It was a rather peaceful day in the mountain base. The team didn't have many of those in the last couple of months after Abyssos, as they were constantly busy fighting and helping civilians. But things have calmed down and even some monsters seemed to grow tired of the constant fighting. Though now other threats began to rise in their stead...

Still, the base was buzzing with activity. The support team was busy researching, manufacturing, repairing, gathering intel, and so much more. While Sarah was currently training her two teammates. Or rather, they just finished. She was wiping off her sweat with a towel while Rosa and Chloey lay panting on the floor. After downing a bottle of water Sarah threw two more towards them. They slowly, and with a lot of groaning, sat up and began drinking.

"Thank feck we have proper air conditioning in our suits. Otherwise I'd just be 'nother puddle on the floor", Rosa commented as she slowly steadied her breathing. Chloey nodded in agreement and tried to get back onto her feet, with little success.

Sarah slowly helped them up and started another lecture.
"You'll get used to it and the more you train, the faster you grow."
"I've only been here for a month or two, can't I...have it a bit easier?"
"Nope, our enemies won't give you the years needed to catch up to me. So get used to it, and don't rely too much on your tools."

Rosa let out a scoff between deep and laboured breaths.
"Easy for you to say, you use gloves."
"I can always get you some, if you prefer", Sarah let out a mischievous smirk as Rosa began to roll her eyes. She was right, of course.
"Besides, I mean all of your tools, not just your Power Weapons. It includes the Morpher, the Suit, and even your Zord. What would happen if an enemy prevented you from using it and you had no idea how to defend yourself without it? Think about it."
"Ugh, whatever. I'll take a shower."

As Rosa shuffled towards the exit, Sarah gave Chloey a hefty slap between her shoulders.
"Don't let it get to ya, you're doing plenty good already. Now off you go, we have a meeting later."
"...Thanks."
Chloey
was a bit embarrassed but composed herself quickly. She still had much to learn was still eager to do so.

Some time later...

A lady in a business suit is currently presenting slideshows to the members of the "Bright Future". Images of building plans, censored faces, and various other pieces of intel are getting beamed on the wall facing the team.

"We have reason to believe that the group known as "The Rebellion" is somehow connected to a recent string of robberies targeting high level technologies. Needless to say, we need it out of their hands ASAP. We've mostly narrowed down their location and that's where you come in. The technology is the priority, everything else is secondary. Though additional intel would be a welcome surprise."

"Any information on "The Rebellion"?"
"Nothing concrete yet. We have too much to sift through and little reason to believe that most of it is true. What is certain is that they apparently opposed Abyssos and have plenty of firepower. Don't take this lightly."

Sarah gave an approving nod to both of them before shooting a glare at Rosa, who was sitting slumped in her seat.
"Any further questions?...No? Then get ready to roll out!"

Mount Weather, Tactical Briefing Room

c0f3780a0480c1d045d7e1c4d6f6a160.jpg

The Tactical Response Unit Epsilon assembled in the briefing room, the table before them displaying an array of holograms: schematics of their suits, a detailed diagram of their Zord, and most prominently, their Morphers—sleek, military-grade devices lined with intricate circuitry. Boaz, the White Tactic Ranger, stood at the head of the room, his commanding presence drawing the attention of every Ranger.

“Alright, Rangers,” he began, his voice firm yet steady, “what I’m about to tell you isn’t just for your understanding—it’s for your survival. You’ve been handed one of the most powerful tools humanity has ever created. But it’s not perfect. Not yet.”

He tapped a control on his wrist, and the holograms shifted to focus on the Morphers. Unlike the traditional Morphers tied directly to the Morphing Grid, these devices had a distinctive, utilitarian look, brimming with artificial enhancements.

“These,” Boaz said, gesturing to the holograms, “are Tactical Synchronization Units, or T-Sync Morphers. They’re the result of decades of experimentation by D.E.I.T.Y to artificially harness the Morphing Grid.”

Artificial Access to the Morphing Grid

He continued, his tone turning explanatory, “The Morphing Grid is an energy field that exists beyond space and time. In most cases, it can only be tapped into by natural means—through a spiritual or destined connection, often activated by what’s known as Power Coins. For years, D.E.I.T.Y had no access to this resource. We had the theories, but the connection? Out of reach.”

Boaz glanced at Renge, who watched intently, her analytical mind clearly piecing the story together. “So how did you do it?”

Boaz nodded approvingly. “We found dormant fragments of Power Coins in an archeological dig. They were degraded, fractured, but still retained a faint resonance with the Grid. Using those fragments, D.E.I.T.Y reverse-engineered a way to artificially amplify that resonance and bridge a connection to the Morphing Grid. That’s where the T-Sync Morphers come in. They serve as the bridge.”

The Power Coins

The hologram shifted again, now displaying five circular artifacts, their surfaces etched with ancient, intricate patterns. Each Coin pulsed faintly, matching the colors of the Rangers.

“These are your Power Coins,” Boaz said, his voice reverent. “Or at least, what remains of them. They’re housed within your Morphers, serving as the core that channels the Grid’s energy. Without them, your T-Sync Morphers are just glorified communication devices.”

He paused, letting the gravity of the statement sink in before continuing. “Because these Coins are fragments, they’re less stable than fully intact artifacts. The energy output is phenomenal, but the strain is immense. That’s why the Morphers are specifically tailored to your physiology and combat style.”

Capabilities of the T-Sync Morphers

Boaz gestured, and the hologram expanded to show detailed breakdowns of the Morphers’ functions. He stepped around the table, pointing to key features.

“First,” he began, “each Morpher is synced to you individually. They analyze your biometric data in real-time, ensuring the Morphing Grid’s energy flow doesn’t overwhelm you. This also allows for adaptive responses during combat, tailoring the power output to your needs.”

He turned to Qaza, who raised an eyebrow. “So if I need an extra boost to knock something down...?”

“You’ll get it,” Boaz confirmed. “But at a cost. The higher the output, the greater the strain on you and the Coin. Prolonged overuse can lead to system degradation—or worse, catastrophic failure.”

Tevares interjected, his tone curious but skeptical. “What kind of enhancements are we talking about here? Beyond the obvious strength and durability.”

Boaz smirked slightly, appreciating the question. “Good. Pay attention to this part. Your Morphers provide several enhancements beyond raw power.”

  1. Kinetic Amplification: He gestured at Dohosan. “Strength, speed, and reflexes. The Morpher calculates the energy needed to optimize your physical abilities in real-time.”
  2. Elemental Resonance: He turned to Renge. “Each of you has an affinity that the Power Coins amplify. For example, Renge’s Coin has a subtle connection to shadow and light energies, which complements her Shinto training.”
  3. Tactical HUD: He pointed at Qaza. “Your helmet interface connects to the Morpher’s tactical systems, giving you real-time battlefield analytics. Enemy movement patterns, environmental hazards, the works.”
  4. Energy Projection: Looking at Tevares, Boaz added, “Whether it’s directed energy attacks or shields, the Morphers can manipulate Grid energy to create barriers or weapons, depending on your needs.”
  5. Team Synergy: Finally, he addressed the group. “The Morphers link to one another, allowing you to share energy, coordinate tactics, and even combine abilities when necessary.”
As the briefing wound down, the holograms shifted back to a rotating display of the T-Sync Morphers. The room was filled with a heavy silence as the Rangers processed the weight of Boaz's words. It was Tevares, the Blue Tactic Ranger, who broke the quiet, his voice laced with curiosity and a touch of skepticism.

“Alright, Boaz, all this talk about power and capabilities is great,” he began, tapping the table lightly with his cybernetic fingers, “but how exactly do we activate these things? I’m guessing it’s not just a matter of hitting a big red button.”

Boaz straightened, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “You’re right, Bello. It’s not that simple. The Morphers—your T-Sync units—are designed to respond to two key factors: intent and resonance.”

Activation Process

He tapped his wrist control, and the hologram zoomed in on one of the Morphers, highlighting the embedded Power Coin at its center. “To activate your Morpher, you need to synchronize with the Power Coin housed inside. That synchronization comes from a combination of mental focus and physical action. In layman’s terms: you need to mean it.”

Qaza, the Pink Tactic Ranger, leaned back in her chair, her grin playful. “So what? We just strike a dramatic pose and yell, ‘It’s morphin’ time?’”

Boaz shot her a pointed look but didn’t entirely dismiss her comment. “In a way, yes. The physical motion you use to activate the Morpher creates a kinetic charge that triggers the Coin’s resonance. At the same time, your intent—your determination—initiates the connection to the Morphing Grid.”

He gestured to the Morphers strapped to each of their wrists. “Your Morphers are keyed to you and you alone. If someone else tries to use it, they’ll get nothing but a dead hunk of tech. But when you activate it correctly, the Morpher pulls energy from the Grid and channels it into your suit, weapons, and abilities.”

Demonstration

Renge, the Yellow Tactic Ranger, raised a hand slightly, her expression thoughtful. “Can you show us? A demonstration might help.”

Boaz nodded. “Of course.” He took a step back, rolling his shoulders before raising his own Morpher. The silver and white device gleamed faintly in the room’s light, its embedded Power Coin pulsing in sync with his movements.

“This is how it’s done,” Boaz said, his voice steady. He brought his arms into a ready position, fists clenched, before thrusting the Morpher forward with precise intent. “Grid Synchronization: Ivory Master!

The room lit up with a flash of white light as the Morphing Grid’s energy enveloped Boaz. In an instant, his armored form emerged, the white and silver suit fitted seamlessly to his body. His helmet gleamed with an angular design, the mammoth motif etched into the faceplate.

“See?” Boaz’s voice echoed through the helmet’s speakers as he lowered his arms. “Intent and action. Together, they initiate the transformation.”

Qaza whistled, visibly impressed. “Okay, that was pretty slick. But do we have to shout something? Because, uh, I can already see myself cringing in the middle of a fight.”

Boaz chuckled lightly. “You’ll get used to it. The callout phrase is more than just for show—it helps focus your intent. Think of it as a verbal command that primes the Morpher to respond.”

Tevares smirked. “I guess I better start thinking of something cool to say, then.”

Renge nodded, her expression contemplative. “It’s a matter of aligning mind and body. I understand. It’s similar to how I trained with Shinden-ryū.”

Dohosan, the Red Tactic Ranger, crossed his arms, his tone serious. “How long does it take to master the process? What if we’re under pressure?”

Boaz deactivated his suit with another flash of light, returning to his civilian form. “The good news is that the Morphers are designed to assist you. The more you use them, the more natural the process becomes. At first, it might feel awkward or even sluggish, but trust me—it’ll click when it matters.”

The room fell silent for a moment before Qaza broke it with a grin. “So basically, we’re walking batteries for some ancient power field?”

Boaz sighed, shaking his head slightly. “Crude, but not entirely wrong. You’re not just batteries—you’re conduits. The Grid flows through you, and how you wield it determines whether you succeed or burn out.”

Renge, her voice quieter, asked, “What happens if a Coin...fails?”

Boaz’s expression turned grim. “If a Coin fails, the connection to the Morphing Grid collapses. Best case? You lose access to your powers. Worst case? You and anyone nearby might get caught in the energy backlash. That’s why you don’t push the Morphers beyond their limits.”

The Alert

A soft chime breaks the silence as an alert blinks onto the screens. The lounge’s hum settles into a low tension as they focus on the announcement.

“Rangers,” the woman on the comms channel begins, her voice steady yet urgent, “we’ve detected a monster attack in the downtown area. A lobster-type monster has emerged, causing havoc and endangering civilians. Immediate response is needed.”

Boaz turned back to the team, his expression hardening. “Looks like it’s time to put theory into practice. Gear up, Rangers. This is what you’ve been waiting for.”

BREAK POINT:
1. Engage the monster with all TRUE rangers
2. Have some engage the monster while other of the team evacuate the civilians
3. Engage the Monster while calling local police to evacuate the civilians

As the final bell rang, Lex slung his bag over his shoulder and left the classroom. Walking out of the building and onto the school quad, he heard a familiar voice cut through the throng of students around him.

"Lex! Wait up!" He turned to see his adoptive sister, Gabrielle, weaving through the crowd, her long strides making quick work of the distance between them. She had an relaxed grin on her face, one that Lex had come to associate with Earthlings who were pleased with themselves.

"Woohoo! First day done! How was it for you?" She asked, as she fell into step beside him.

Lex gave her a sidelong glance. "The mathematics was... straightforward." He said, pausing briefly. "I found no difficulty in completing the given assignment. However, English and it's literature were far more challenging. It uses peculiar metaphors that are not immediately logical."

Gabrielle smirked. "Yeah, Shakespeare has that effect on people. I'm sure you’ll get the hang of it. Eventually."

Lex nodded, though he wasn’t entirely sure he agreed. They continued walking, passing by the community bulletin board, when Gabrielle suddenly stopped and nudged Lex’s arm. "Oh, hey, check this out!"

Lex turned his attention to the brightly coloured poster she was pointing at. It advertised a concert in the park that afternoon, promising music, food trucks, and plenty of fun. "Looks like everyone’s going to be there." Gabrielle said, noting the small crowd that had gathered around it. "You should come. It’ll be good for you."

Lex studied the poster for a moment before responding. "I had planned to visit the library after school." He replied. "There is much I still need to study. And afterward, I intended to visit the local fire station."

Gabrielle blinked. "The fire station? Wait, why?"

Lex glanced at her, gauging her reaction. "Remember those monsters I fought in the park? One of the onlookers suggested I speak with the firefighters. They implied I could be of use."

For a moment, Gabrielle stared at him, her expression unreadable, then she grinned. "You’re serious, aren’t you?"

"Of course." Lex replied, slightly confused. "Why would I not be?"

"No, no, it’s cool." Gabrielle quickly replied. "It makes sense. You’ve got this whole… shining knight vibe. Volunteering sounds like a good idea..." She paused, tilting her head. "But you should still come to the concert. I mean, you’ve been through a lot. Maybe just… relax for a bit? Music’s good for that."

Lex hesitated as he mulled over her suggestion. "It would be a chance to observe Earth social interactions more closely." He mused aloud.

Gabrielle laughed. "Sure, I guess you could say that? Just think of it as hanging out. Maybe even having fun. You know, normal teen stuff."

Lex pondered the matter further before giving a small nod. "I will attend." He said, finally. "After completing my other tasks."

Gabrielle grinned. "Deal. Go save the world or whatever you’ve got planned and I’ll save you a spot at the concert."

As Lex walked away toward the library, Gabrielle watched him go, shaking her head. "Weird kid..." She muttered with a fond smile. "But kinda sweet."

Sonbancho District,
Kiyoda

The hallways of Five Peaks Fighting Squadron Memorial Hospital buzzed with controlled chaos. Doctors and nurses moved with purpose, their footsteps echoing off the pristine white tiles. Dr. Ken'ichi Sa'sa, Chief of Staff, strode calmly through the flurry of activity. Beside him, Dr. Alexander Ellis, a newly appointed junior doctor, hurried to keep pace, a tablet clutched tightly in one hand.

“Dr. Sa'sa,” Alex began, his voice tinged with a mix of urgency and nerves, “the patient in Room 212 is still complaining of jaw and back pains despite the prescribed medication. I’ve cross-referenced their charts. Could it be—”

“An atypical presentation of myocardial infarction?” Ken'ichi cut in, his tone calm yet precise. His eyes flicked to Alexander, a faint smile playing on his lips. “Possible. Schedule an echocardiogram and monitor them closely. We’ll reassess once the results are in.”

Before Alex could respond, the distant clatter of wheels drew their attention. A gurney raced down the hall, flanked by a nurse in bright yellow scrubs and a male orderly. “Coming through!” the nurse called out, her voice firm but steady.

The patient on the gurney writhed in pain, their laboured breaths filling the air. Alex instinctively stepped forward, his earlier question forgotten. Ken placed a hand on his shoulder. “Go. They’ll need you in the trauma room.”

Alex nodded and jogged after, already pulling on a pair of gloves. Dr Sa'sa mentally catalogued the suspected case of myocardial infarction, intending to personally see it was checked. Nearby, a nurse’s station buzzed to life as a voice crackled over the intercom: “Paging Dr. Shun Matsuda to the Emergency Ward. Dr. Matsuda to the Emergency Ward please.”

Ken'ichi turned down a hallway, only to be intercepted by a nurse in soft pink scrubs and a dainty cap holding a clipboard. “Dr. Sa'sa,” she said, offering the clipboard. “I need your signature on these discharge forms for Mr. Smith in Room 110.”

Ken took the clipboard, quickly scanning the documents. “His recovery’s ahead of schedule. Good work, Ms Nakamura.”

She gave a small, appreciative nod as Ken'ichi signed off. Handing the clipboard back, she offered a brief smile before disappearing down another corridor.

Ken'ichi paused for a moment, a sense of pride in his work and the staff as his gaze swept over the bustling hospital around him. Despite the seeming apocalypse that had befallen the world, and the subsequent attacks thereafter, the FPFS Memorial Hospital had risen to the task. He looked at the M.O.R.P.H device on his wrist, the ground-breaking technology that had saved so many lives and now gave him the power to save many more. "Excuse me Dr. Sa'sa. Can I borrow you for a moment?"

He turned to see one of his support staff, the man cradling some strange goop.....

Once upon a time, the carcass of an amusement park lay in the countryside. Despite its exciting past, degradation and scandal had brought a mountain to its knees. While many delinquents used the grounds for interpersonal endeavors, urban legends crept into the minds of those who lived nearby, whispers of things moving in the dark. With the great shade of Abyssos, many were too scared to investigate, and most did not believe the myth to be true in the first place. Yet, many things did indeed live on inside the park.

One of which we see now; A carousel at the heart of the park cracks open in the middle, and a stream of blues and yellow emerge. Children might think it was a banner or a parade float, but they would only be mostly correct. The tubular being revealed two floating gloved hands from within the holds under its face, and placed one up where one's ear might be, as if listening. If you listen too, you might hear it; faint jingles of carnival music.

Let us now begin our tale, as one of Ecco's many creations come to greet him, a small domed thing that can only wheel, and never walk.

"MAS-TER, WEL-COME BACK," said Calcudoku.

"Is that melody I hear, Calcudoku? I thought it was a trick of the ear from my workshop below, but it appears deception it was not. What could be making such wonderful noise I wonder?" asked Ecco.

"YOU ARE COR-RECT, MAS-TER. MU-SIC PLAYS FROM THE LOT NEAR THE ENT-RANCE. THERE IS A CARN-IV-AL SET UP."

Ecco's empty eyes lit up. Listening closer, he could parse the laughter of children amongst the music.

"THIS E-VENT AL-IGNS WITH OUR MISSION (E-TERN-AL LARK). SHOULD WE TAKE AD-VAN-TAGE?"

The eyes of all four of Calcudoku's faces blipped to life, a common feature when the robot asked for a command. Ecco's face spun in place as he pondered the situation; he supposed that tinkering would only propel one so far, and if joy were to come to the Earth once more, hiding away would not help. Yet, surprise surely would not be an excellent means either.

The frills on the side of his head stood on end as an idea formed within. Bringing his hand to his mouth, a sharp whistle echoed across the back end of the park.

Within minutes, the Legion arrived, standing on several demolished blocks of concrete. Bubbo and Orsi arrived out of breath, apparently attempting to race there, and Ragdy cartwheeled into view from behind a ramshackle stand.

"Children, I vow that today we begin our mission for the Eternal Lark once and for all!"

A quiet cheer quieted down as Ecco explained further.

"A carnival happens to be passing us by, and we cannot squander such an opportunity. While the joy does give me energy like any other, we must be delicate with these things. Ragdy," Ecco said, pointing at the boneless man, "will attend what time remains in the carnival. While you are there, enjoy such revelry but listen close; find what ails the attendees, listen to their faults and what faults them, what complaints dampen their glowing lives."

Ragdy sprung into the air and clicked his heels together.

"We must also begin our analysis of what euphoria is left in this world, and keep... and keep our... Calcudoku, what is that phrase?"

"KEEP OUR FIN-GER ON THE PULSE."

"Exactly! We must palm the pulse of those we wish to help, as my cards can only display so much; thus, Orsi and Bubbo, you and a few from the Legion, scour the park for all electrical equipment, and with Calcudoku's assistance, attempt to assemble a 'computer', from which we may view the world."

"What about you, pa?" Orsi asked, scratching his back.

"I shall have a reading. The arcana is the means by which all is revealed... perhaps a look into the past, present, or future will aid us as our trek begins."

With a cheer, all of the Lark split up as a plan began to bloom.

Star Serpents
Grace isn't strong enough yet. She just knows she isn't. She needs to get as much work on on getting stronger as she possibly can. Other people won't get hurt this time. She won't allow it. But that means she has to be strong enough to solo him. That's... Well it'll take a lot more work.

Veruca saw her training today. She still has to use communal spaces like the sparring room sometimes, to test out how much stronger she's gotten. All Veruca had to say about it is that the claws on her gauntlets are getting longer, and it makes it clearer when her hands are shaking. She said Grace needs to take a chance on a full night of sleep. She doesn't get it. Yes, Grace has only been sleeping for an hour at a time, but that's how this has to be! The fact that the others can brave REM sleep so easily doesn't mean she gets that luxury.

Veruca and Gary are... Both really concerned. At this rate, it feels like Grace will have no stamina for an actual physical fight any time soon. Has she been eating? They haven't seen her without her suit since this all started. Even her mask has remained firmly in place.

Still, they do their best to focus on their own training. Gander is still here, and he assures them that he's seeing to Grace. They'll just have to trust him to let them know if things go wrong.

BREAK POINT:
1. Attempt to channel magical energy to track Connor
2. Attempt to create a device to track Connor

3. Continue to Train more in the magical arts first

Veruca takes up recon and checking in with the local populations

Gary looks for other potential rangers among the stronger and better trained survivors.
