Next month in the Islamic calendar is Ramadan

Muslims go by the Islamic calendar which goes by the moon whereas the Gregorian calendar goes by the sun. Right now the month is Shaban next month is Ramadan which is the month of fasting.

Ramadan is an important month for Muslims as fasting during this month is one of the five pillars of Islam (I might post facts about the five pillars during Ramadan) I've heard of Christians fasting, I know it's different then when Muslims fast so if any Christian is reading this I'd like to know how it works :'3

Muslims fast from before Dawn until after sunset where we break our fast, it's recommended to break your fast with dates and water. This is how my family does it at least. Fasting can be straining as when Muslims fast we can't drink water or eat food (unless on accident, though when we catch ourselves we have to stop :'3)

Since we're so hungry for the day it also gets very tiring to do some things, this is a Holy month in Islam where Muslims are encouraged to perform extra acts of worship during the day because all of the evil jinns (devil's) are locked up during this month which I've also noticed also makes everyone less angry (you'll notice it to I'm sure >:3)

(And if any Muslims reading this find that my facts are off please tell me ( ;∀;))

How Christians do it varies by denomination, from total abstention like you describe to just fasting from one specific thing (many Christians choose to "give something up" during the season of Lent, for example, which is a type of fast). And sometimes within a particular denomination too, if it doesn't set a prescribed type.
heh, sorry for the like spam! as a muslim myself, i just found it very intriguing that you’re posting facts about islam! keep it up 💓
    Random Fact About Islam #3

    Muslims don't date before marriage.

Some might have known this but usually in Islam people go through arranged marriages. Of course the two people have to have consent and usually they sit down with the others family before deciding.

For Muslims it's forbidden to date because it's considered adultery and that's one of the worst sins in Islam. Some people be joking about not holding hands before marriage were not even supposed to look the opposite gender in the eye.

In Islamic events the men and women are separated because we're forbidden to cast glances of lust towards each other. This doesn't stop others from doing the complete opposite though my friends be saying "yo that's my future husband" :'3

I have a crush on this one guy and the only reason I know what his face looks like is because his sister is my best friend. And on that note we can't even propose without at least 3 witnesses so it's some serious stuff (◡ ω ◡)

There's so much to go over on the subject of marriage in Islam that I'm going to leave it at that ┐(´ー`)┌

Well that actually depends on the sect you follow and then even further divided by the school of thought you adhere to despite what the Wahhabis like to believe we no longer live in the 6th century.

There is no unified faith, it's better not to talk about An Islam but Islams.

That aside, good luck with your crush.
    Random Fact about Islam #2

Allahu Akbar means, God is the Greatest

Kafars (Non belivers) might think these words are for some reason frightening or mean something dangerous and they sometimes use it to try and insult Muslims but they're really only praising Allah when they say it XD

Saying things like Allahu Akbar and Lailahaillallah repeatedly is called dhikr and Muslims tend to make dhikr when they're scared and they think that maybe there final moments might be coming. We also are encouraged to make dhikr daily because it's a way to praise Allah.

But this is why you might hear Muslims yell Allahu Akbar when bombs go off or when something catastrophic happens, it's a way to connect to our Lord as protection and a means of getting closer to him in hard times.

May I ask what "Lailahaillallah" means?
    SugarSpiceMekoPicoCoco
    SugarSpiceMekoPicoCoco
Oh sure (・∀・) it means "there is no God but Allah"

It's like half of the shahada, reciting the shahada is what makes you officially a Muslim the whole thing is "there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger" we say Lailahaillallah to remind ourselves of Allah.
    Random Facts about Islam: #1

(I think I'm gonna try to post 1 or 2 random facts a day, some concepts in Islam are considered not very normal in today's society so I apologise if some people find these strange or weird)

    --

Muslims don't celebrate holidays like Christmas, Valentine's day, Halloween, Easter etc

This is because of religious reasons with Christmas and Easter being Christian holidays and the history behind them.

Though we do celebrate Islamic holidays and events like the 2 Eid's, the Maulid of the Nabi (Saw) and Jumah which comes every Friday among lots of others.

I'm going to be giving out facts that most Muslims I know go by and I understand some Muslims believe and go by different rulings than others so I hope I don't offend anyone. These are just the things I was taught and grew up by. (◍•ᴗ•◍)
