The Sun and the Moon Can't be in Love -A poem by LovelySage
The sun said to the moon;
"Moon, why do you hide?
Whenever I come up,
you take shelter in the opposite sky" Well the moon peeked out
and spoke to the sun;
"I have my doubts,
we will not work,
so float away and run" And the sun dimmed down with a sulking glow,
The skies were dark that day.
The sun thought; if only the moon knew,
what I'd give to make him stay. When the moon came out,
the very next day,
he was shocked to see the sun
and the stars at play
"Sun what are you doing?
what about your duty?
To make the darkness go away?" The sun lit up bright,
upon seeing the light
of her one true love that night.
And she said with a grin
As she lifted her chin;
"My sky can stay dark
as long as I have your heart,
and I can love you every day" Now the moon smiled a genuine smile
for the first time in a while
and as the moon approached the sun
he saw a millennia of fun
waiting for him to take.
But what nobody knew,
was that it was true
that the sun was you
and I was the moon.
And on the day I let you in
with that cheesy grin
I put out your light
and the world went dim
Because someone like me
could never love someone like you
from a world full of kindness
to my world of darkness
I should have said no
to protect your heart and soul
but now you are gone
because I made it so
My love I know
I'll never see you again
but as long as I'm alive
your death I will avenge
Because no matter how hard we try
and no matter who I was
someone in the mafia
can not safely love the sun.
