Mowkie
Hello, hello! As you have probably figured out, I am Mowkie, hobby-writer and role player. I've been actively role playing since early high school, around 2008, and up until mid-2017, I was active almost every day (save 2013, but that's another story). Though I have been on a bit of a hiatus in terms of role play, I have been writing on and off since I left my online community over at Iwaku. After returning to the site that I had a particular fondness of, I had come to the realization that I knew no one there...and there weren't many people that shared the same interests as me. So...I came here in hopes of something fresh, fun, and new.
I am a 26-year-old aspiring novelist who needs a new way to get the creative juices flowing again. My life since 2013 has been a tricky one. I was medically discharged from the US Army in October of 2013, and even now, my patriotism is still burning bright. Shortly thereafter, I married my high school sweetheart, and in 2016, we were blessed with an amazing little girl. A year later, he left, and I stopped writing. For the past three years, I've spend my time working and being a single mother, finding almost no time to write. When I did find the time, I've been working on my novel. But I often find myself getting bored. So...well...here I am. Also, I have a cat (also named Mowkie - I got her after I decided to change my username to it). And at some point this year or next, I'll be going to live in South Korea with my new spouse, who happens to be a soldier stationed over there. Lookit that! COVID can't stop me!
My main focus right now is writing my novel and working on starting a blog. I've been building the same world, Partheus, for the last 12 or 13 years. My purpose for Iwaku is to find other creative minds that will spur me forward and give me the opportunity to regain the creativity I feel I've been lacking - particularly in the last year.
I grew up with writing, both of my parents frequently coming up with ideas for either table-top RP or, as my mother prefers, online RP. I started writing at the age of twelve and found it to be my greatest addiction.
I love dragons. Truly and utterly. Dragons are my obsession...only cats can compare to them in how much I adore them. Here, that is what I search for the most.
I am an adept writer...one who always adds a good bit of detail and prefers detail from those I collaborate with. If I don't have a detailed collaboration, my posts suffer, as does my character. If I don't get a good feel for my character, you will also see a difference. I post as often as possible, typically once a week or so. This depends on what is going on that week - and trust me, there's a lot going on. Days will be mixed. I might pop on in the middle or at the tail end...but weekends are probably going to be the toughest, as those are the only moments I currently get with my long-distance spouse, who is 14 hours ahead and working 12-hour days. However, you will always get the best that I can give.
