Hello, I am HF, and I am an agender individual who uses they/them pronouns. Nice to meet you :] I am 24 years old and have roleplayed on-and-off for twelve years--although I've done it a lot less consistently for the past six. I got into roleplaying as a way to practice my writing and try out ideas that were bouncing around in my head, which is probably something that I have in common with most of you.
Writing and creating stories are things that are incredibly dear to me, as well as something I plan to dedicate my life to. However, recent life events have made creating rather painful. Back when I participated regularly, roleplaying was an incredibly useful tool for getting ideas flowing and led to me having inspiration for my own personal projects. With that in mind, I'd like to try it again in hopes that it will help. My mental health is no one else's problem but my own, but I mention this because my lack of confidence might leech into my writing in certain ways
I don't plan to let it though, if I can help it!! I'm incredibly hopeful since roleplaying was something that brought a lot of joy into my life (and in fact, a lot of my projects were inspired by past experiences in one way or another). I'm looking forward to writing with someone and perhaps even making a few friends :]
This part is probably going to read a bit like an interest check, but my intention is to let prospective writing partners know a bit more about me before we start creating together :]
From you:
Most importantly, I am absolutely not ghost friendly. I'm getting back into this because it's comforting, so having someone leave out of the blue would be upsetting. No longer being interested in an idea or writing with me in general is okay! Sometimes people just don't click. However, if that is the case, please contact me beforehand.
I prefer a partner who is at least 20 years old. I remember what it was like to be a teenager on a site that is mostly adults, but I do feel more comfortable talking to people closer to my own age.
I not only want but need a partner who will talk to me OOC! The way this is written is probably kind of intimidating, but I promise I don't talk like this conversationally. We're all nerds here, right? And I love hearing about other people's interests, so please infodump away! Plus . . .
Planning the story and worldbuilding both before and during the roleplay is very important to me. This is not an attempt to shame the pantsers among us, but collaboration is a bit different. I really don't want anything uncomfortable to happen because we didn't discuss it, or for it to die because we aren't on the same page.
From me:
This is more of an OOC thing, but clearly I can be a bit wordy. By this point you're probably okay with it, but I'm mentioning it anyway. I find it important to acknowledge nuance, and recognizing tone over the internet can be hard. On a related note: if you need them, I am perfectly okay with using tone indicators.
All of my characters are exclusively LGBTQ+. I am a nonbinary lesbian, and I create content that reflects as much.
That being said, I do not find romance mandatory. It can be nice, but it can also be awkward or feel forced. I prefer to go into roleplays with the option open, but for their relationship to remain non-romantic if things don't fit.
My preferred overarching genre is fantasy. High or low, dark or whimsical, all is okay with me!
It's been a while, so I can't be sure, but I'll ballpark my general reply length at 100-300 words/2-3 paragraphs, written in 3rd person. I'm probably underestimating myself, but honestly I'm not interested in consistently doing long replies. They're exhausting. I am okay with both past and present tense and will match you. Length could be more or less depending on the situation or how I'm feeling.
Because I haven't roleplayed in years, I don't have any reply examples. However, I do have solo writing that I can provide as an example if requested.
I'd like for my partner to match but also be flexible and reasonable. Sometimes situations require more description to show the setting and set the tone. Sometimes they need less because it's slowing the scene down. Just do what feels right.
For now, I'll probably be looking for people with defined plots already. However, I love to create new things together, and I have my own fictional universe we can play with as well!
I would rather not roleplay outside of this site. If you'd prefer to go to Discord for dms, that is okay, but this site's rules system help me feel comfortable.
Thanks for reading! I hope you have a wonderful day :]
