    As Told by Ginger was an animated Nickelodeon show created by Emily Kapnek that ran from 2000 - 2006. It was produced by Klasky-Csupo and aimed at preteens and young teens. The series focused on Ginger Foutley and her family and friends in their fictional small town of Sheltered Shrubs, CT, with sub-plots focused on Ginger's younger brother, Carl. The series was different from other Nickelodeon shows at the time

    mainly due to its progressive character development, visual aging of characters, and clothing changes every episode. Most exceptional was that the series had an ongoing story arc, where episode plots would seep into preceding episodes, further adding to the realism and complexity of the show.
