elspeth
hello all! first things first: i promise i type with proper capitalization and punctuation when i'm actually writing my RP responses. have no fear!
you can call me elspeth, el, elsie, ellie... whatever you would like! i go by she/her.
i am new to this site (though not really) but most definitely not new to roleplaying (cliché line, i know, i'm sure you've heard it time and time again). i found my other roleplaying avenues to be getting quite dry, so i figured i'd give this site a try after many, many years away. i'm excited to meet you all and write with you!
a bit about me: i love, love, love historical romance roleplays! that is what i am here to do (although if i come across a modern plot that piques my interest, i won't necessarily say no... i just have to find it very, very interesting). while i appreciate accuracy, i'm certainly not above making the roleplay our own and changing the 'rules' of a particular period or era to our liking. we can have fun with it! i'm generally more interest in capturing and recreating the zeitgeist of a particular period or era rather than ensuring that every single detail is completely and totally accurate to the time (though i certainly try my best, and i ask that my partners put in some effort as well).
i'm particularly a sucker for anything medieval, regency, victorian, or wwII. i also have a current fondness for the wild west - think oregon trail, mail order brides, etc. of course, although i (obviously) love romance, i do appreciate when there is world-building and storytelling happening outside of the romance as well. my partners must be able to write multiple characters (whether they be side characters, or we have a doubling situation going on) and contribute to the world-building without needing to be prodded or pushed.
i believe it takes 2 to create a plot - i have tons of pre-made plots, but they're meant to be discussed and worked on before we begin writing together. i also appreciate having an idea of both main characters, plot progression, etc. before we begin writing in full. jumping in headfirst can be fun, but it's not my go-to.
i am open to mxf and fxf pairings. this page is lgbtq+ friendly!
i consider myself a literate writer. i generally write multi-paragraph to novella length responses. however, a few paragraphs (2-3 minimum) is enough to make me happy, and i will generally match the length of my partner's replies. quality over quantity, of course! all i ask is no one-liners.
one important thing: i do have a tendency to ghost when things get busy. i am a full-time student in a course overload, work multiple jobs, volunteer, act as an executive member on several uni councils, and have some very wonderful friends that i love to see + a lovely family. i do try my best to reach out and give my partners a heads up when things get busy, but i know my red flags, and the fact is that i often don't. however, i always, always, always come back to the roleplays that i love, even if it is after a few weeks or months. if this is not your vibe, then i am not for you (which i totally understand, no hard feelings). just an fyi! you have been warned!
if any of these sound like things you could get into, please reach out to me!! i would love to chat and plan something out with you.
we can talk more about expectations once we get to know each other. again, i look forwward to hearing from you! < 3
