Baphomet
Hiya! I'm Baphomet! Your adorable, friendly neighborhood Goat being. I am very open & friendly, so feel free to come chat with me, or ask me anything! I don't get easily offended, and don't shy from typically polarizing topics. Though I won't post such information, such as religion or politics, here in my summary, for the consideration of others. I am super happy to talk about stuff though, if you ask! I'll be posting information that I feel may be important to others as fellow role players, but feel free to ask for clarification, expansion, or even unrelated things!
I am silly and chaotic outside of RPs. I take my actual writing very seriously. Though that doesn't mean I don't like humor. Because I don't like humor. I'm very humorless. No humor at all. Nope. None. >.>... ...
I am an over the road trucker. That means my schedule is all wonky. I post with irregularity. Different times of the day. Depends on the loads I get, as well as the internet connection I have at the places I stop at. So please be patient with me! In return, I am very patient. I estimate that I can do about a post a day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I am OK with up to a week between posts. Longer is understandable, but I'd like to avoid such long posting schedules.
I am 31 years old, if it matters to anyone. As an old fart, I'd like to steer away from RPing with minors. Sorry kiddos, I'm just not that into you. I consider myself an advanced writer. Not really, but, I feel like I do well with other people who consider themselves advanced as well. I am no expert. No author. I will win no awards, but, I do like to take my time and try to add details all the time. I know I can always improve!
I post in paragraph format. I typically do two paragraphs minimum. One to respond, one to further the story. I rarely see the need for less, so, let's call it a two paragraph minimum requirement for my partner as well. Extenuating circumstances excluded.
I prefer writing in three people, and past tents(3rd person, past tense), and prefer my partner do the same. Tense isn't so important for my partner, but I don't want them writing in first person. It makes it seem like their character is the star of the show.
I almost exclusively do text descriptions. I do not like looking for images to match the picture in my head. I also love letting others have the freedom to picture what my characters & places look like based on those descriptions. If I had any artistic talent, that may have been different. I don't mind others using images. I understand the appeal. It's just too much effort for me.
My grammar may not be perfect, but my spelling tends to be spot on, with few mistakes here and there. I'm sure an English professor would be able to find lots of misplaced commas, but I do reread my posts after typing, before posting. I do not expect perfection from others, but do expect it to be easily readable. If I have to read each post multiple times to understand it, I may ask that we cut the RP short.
I love working with people that like building with me. Help me world-build, further develop the story, make suggestions. Don't be afraid to say you don't like something. Even if you don't know how to fix it, we can try to work on it together. If it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be, but it is very boring doing all the work for a 1x1. Group is a bit different, because it can be more like a DM creating a story for players in D&D. Though, for 1x1s, I require a partner than can stop, collaborate & listen.
Nothing wrong with asking to end an RP! I'm friendly and understanding. It's unreasonable to expect each other to stay when they are not interested for whatever reason. I will, in turn, also be vocal about how I feel.
I can write either gender. I have no preference. I can write any pairing. I have a very slight preference of FxF>FxM>MxM. I love romance. Absolutely love it. It's not required in my writings, but I love it. I do need strong connections though. They don't need to be romantic, but I do need some sort of strong connection. Slow burn is good. Great, even. Or even starting off with a strong connection, as few seem wont to do.
I have genres I enjoy, and genres I don't. I don't particularly enjoy historical genres. I hate feeling the constant need to use Google information. I prefer either fictional places, or alternate versions of real places, where we can make up details as needed, without needing to know much about the real place. I don't mind anthropomorphic genres, but will not do full on animal RPs.
I can like, depending on the settings, mystery, drama, thrillers, etc. I'm iffy on fandoms. I don't like using canon characters. For me or my partner. I only write as OCs, and prefer my partner to write with OCs. Canon characters can be fine for NPCs.
I love slice-of-life. My favorite genre. I also really like fantasy, sci-fi, steampunk, or any super made-up settings. I also love super-powers, magic, occult, etc. I also love playing villains. Criminal RPs are great!
I prefer 1x1, as they are easier to keep going, and don't hurt so bad when they suddenly end without a word. I absolutely LOVE a good group RP, but often find it takes great effort to find & join a good one. Lots to learn, lots to keep up with. I will only do up to one group RP at a time. I may have a few 1x1s, but try not to overexert myself. I do not have a huge amount of time as a trucker.
I will post an example of what my typical post may look like. Hopefully you can judge if you think you would enjoy writing with me! I also tend to mirror my partner, so I may get end up with higher or lower quality posts depending on the styles of my partner and the speed we post at. I will try not to overly embellish, so it's an accurate representation of me:
Autumn:
The cool Autumn breeze ruffled the trees. Autumn was mesmerized as the red, yellow and orange leaves danced about, creating a kaleidoscope before her. She was roused from her stupor as a leaf alighted upon her glasses. She gave a chuckle as she shook her head, trying to rid herself of her new companion.
Autumn had a bad habit of meandering. As an artist, in typical fashion, she was a bit eccentric. Her friends allowed room for her strangeness. They would say it's typical for such a talented artist to be a bit odd, and may even argue on her behalf that oddity is required of any great artist.
Her friends... That's right! Autumn perked up, suddenly remembering why she was outside in the first place. She pulled out her phone to text her friends. To her surprise, her friends already texted her, letting her know they knew she would be running behind and teasing her about it. She gave a mock wounded face before letting them know she would be along shortly.
Silent Struggle:
"Do you understand ASL?" Signed Derek. His hands glided elegantly through the air as they silently carried his words across.
To no avail, it seemed. The group could not understand him. Their mouths moved, carrying silence to Derek's ears. They walk past, their intentions of stopping so he can pull out pen and paper was clear.
A woman walked by.
"Can you help me?" Derek's hands conveyed the message flawlessly. Again, to no avail.
Derek looked up as a snowflake alighted upon his nose. The white was a stark contrast to his sable skin before vanishing down his nose. He wondered if this was what the world was. Just a mass of uncaring people. He was startled from his ruminations as a fleshy appendage poked his shoulder.
His scarf flailed as he whirled about. A silent chuckle reached his ears. The intruder lowered their hand from their mouth as they let the giggle die. They were clearly amused with Derek, though for what reason he did not know.
A tear welled up in Derek's eyes as the young man waved his hands about in the air. "How are you?" The silence was melodious to Derek. He thought he would have to struggle alone. The young man giggled once more, the silent vibrations music to his bones.
