So my friend would really appreciate some advice.


She is Muslim and she is darker skinned than the rest of her family and her family is really shitty to her in general but one of the reasons is her skin color. Recently, an aunt called her up to tell her about this doctor down in Sacramento who'd recommended her an Asian diet supplement called glutathione; however, the diet supplement would be injected rather than ingested and it was supposed to lead to lighter skin, which would help my friend (MF) in the long run with her family. The aunt informed her that she'd already called MF's mum and MF's mum would be willing to pay for it even though it's super expensive if it were something MF wanted to do.


Here's the thing: not only is this thing not approved by the FDA to eat, much less inject, there have been none to almost no studies on it in the U.S., so side effects are unknown.


I'm also opposed on a morals ground to trying to change the color of one's skin. I'm not PoC by any means but I was led to believe that idark skin was supposed to be a beautiful thing that should be celebrated. If its honestly causing her dysphoria, then I'll support her decision, but...


I feel that this whole thing is very sketchy. Why is a doctor repping a drug that hasn't been studied or admitted into the U.S.? Isn't that malpractice? Couldn't my friend be really hurt by this?


Im going to tag @The Mechanist because they are a biologist and @Chrysalism because you're POC and I feel your opinions on this would be extremely relevant. I don't know anyone else exactly but any opinions are VERY appreciated!


Also, in regards to my "POC skin should be something you're proud if" comment obviously I'm white and I know nothing so if I was offensive I'm very sorry that is not my intention. Not at all. Please educate, not belittle. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

This one time in high school


We were in Economics class and we were talking about the country of Chad and I wasn't paying that much attention because our teacher was boring as fuck. But there was a girl paying even less attention than me. I don't know if she'd been on her phone or what her deal was, but she hadn't been paying attention at all. So we're having a small class discussion on Chad. Halfway through, she lifts her head up and goes, "Who's CHAD?"


Half the class turned their face toward her, looking like, GIRL.

I'm so mad at this person on my instagram right now they keep putting up pictures of a tub with bloody water and for a minute I thought they were committing suicide and freaked out and went to go check their page AND APPARENTLY THEY ARE JUST SITTING IN THEIR BATHTUB, HAVING A NOSEBLEED


Like I'm obviously really happy that they're not committing suicide but if you put up pictures of your legs in a bloody tub you know very fucking well what some people are going to assume. They scared the fuck outta me. Geeezzz be careful Guyyyysss

I had a bunch of nightmares about the RPN last night but the one my brain chose to remember is the one where Harry Styles died and everybody on here was freaking out not because he died but because the way he died was he slipped in the shower and hit his head and they knew that was how he died because some guy called it in


Some guy who was his boyfriend


Who was I guess showering with him when he died


And so basically everyone was like "I knew Harry Styles was gay!!!1!1!1!" And it was like, okay, yes, but he's also dead, so could you chill out and be a bit more respectful plz thank you


I don't know what the weirdest part of the dream was


The fact I couldn't care less about Harry Styles yet my brain conjured up a dream about him


The fact that the part where he died was so vivid (although it seems I have a problem with vivid violent dreams so I guess it's not that weird)


Or the fact RPNation was suddenly overtaken by screaming One Direction fangirls


I just don't know what to THINK

Did I really just tell my best friend "Night night" Like a small child to hang up the phone when she was all cool and sophisticated and "see you later"
