A Lamia with many pet snakes, Selana (Sell-AH-nah) lives in a Lamia village in the mountain range North of the Elrua Forest and the crossroads village Ikari. After a conflict with the Humans a few years ago, Selana proposed a truce to keep the two from wiping each other out. The Lamias were recalled to their village and left to do whatever they please, living in an admittedly unstable peace with Ikari’s inhabitants - They try to leave the Humans to their own devices, as long as the Humans in turn leave them alone, which happens... Most of the time, though some still invade in the belief that they are dangerous, and Lamias still occasionally kidnap Humans for sport and entertainment. They are forced to promise not to hurt or kill their catches, though while some simply let their caught Humans go as a result when they're finished, that doesn't stop others from keeping a few as slaves. In return, Selana, as she acted as the diplomatic embassy to the Humans, was given an enchanted book, which contains spells that may be cast by chanting the words inside. The spells contained in the tome are solely enchantment and protection spells, with only a few basic offensive spells. As Lamias have no natural magical reserves, with their only magical ability being sight-based hypnosis, Selana must have her tome with her in order to cast spells. Her snakes are loyal to her and perform various tasks at her behest, usually scouting, espionage, and pest control.
She has had a small acquaintance with Emma in the past, though the two dislike each other. Selana looks down on Emma for asserting her power over Slimes and Spiders, who they consider to be weak, while Emma claims that Selana should be asserting her dominance over the Humans rather than using diplomacy with them.
