This is truly the most amazing roleplay idea and setup I have ever seen. Unfortunately, I do not feel I am skilled enough to be a part of it. I just wanted to let you know that it is outstanding. The only reason people have not joined in seconds is because they, too are too stunned to join. I am in complete awe to your writing skill. Thank you for sharing your imagination gifts. I hope one day I will feel comfortable enough to join a roleplay of yours.
Well, honestly, anyone who could post halfway decent in RP's like a Walking Dead RP, or Sin City, outer Limits / Twilight Zone, or anything similar would probably do well in this one. Originally the idea was inspired by an Outer Limits episode.
As many mentioned before, I may not be good enough for this roleplay, mainly because of my slow posting tendencies. However, I've always wanted to join one of your roleplays and I'll try and join this one anyway. Give me a moment to type up a character. Great roleplay (like usual)! Quick question, what sort of image do you want us to use?
Welcome to the 21st century. MY character's would be, Folks attending would have to be ask that particular preference. Those doing the selecting would try to make the random selections accordingly.
Folks are welcome to design their own dates. The dates can be among the initial victims - or get lost in all the confusion - or join you. Your characters may start out on their own ... or your characters may group up. (This is more to allow people to join in later while some of you are in the middle of a scene.)
I DO advise a lack of physical handicaps that make it tough to outrun the monsters.
I simply cannot wait for some of you to run into one of the classrooms where a teacher is. (shudder) Darth, once we get one more joining us I think we can go ahead and start. I designed this so that new players can jump in without necessarily having to read everyone else's threads fully before they can ever get started. They'd just have to start alone (or with their NPC's) and work into a scene together.
I just realized that the image reference 2 for Yulia is the same one as one of the teachers. What. A. Coincidence. Well, I'm using the description but the inspiration, or reference, were the images. Haha...
I think it would make sense if some ran off into separate areas and others followed one another in a group. Those who ran off into separate areas would meet up with the group and then it's a group. Would that work? Perhaps those in the group, who followed one another, might have run and try to go outside? Individuals, or small groups, will most likely take refuge inside the school but it depends on the character. Someway, somehow, the characters should be able to get together in a group sometime for easier interaction. c: Of course, something could happen and then they get split up again but, you know, the group could be made after the first posts. The second post for those who ran off by themselves should be meeting up with another character or a group to provide interaction, unless they don't want to, of course. We can work it out in the OOCs if any characters want to "coincidentally" collide.
I'm not sure posting as frequently as recommended would be in my strong suits, but this really interests me. Would love to join, is that one spot still open?
It is. Most of my RP's are a little unique. I just hope I can get my poor brain to work. (Been sick for a few weeks. Have been having trouble concentrating on anything. Old age issues. Of course, I managed to write up this RP and another called The 42, so it can't all be bad.)
Works for me. I start work in a couple hours, but I am trying to work on an intro post. It is going to be a little vague. I still don't know what all of you plan to do once all hell breaks loose. I didn't really plan this as a purely Halloween RP, but as a longer term RP.
For those who have mentioned posting frequency as an issue - it is mainly an issue if you are with the group. I don't want them held up. But I also don't want them leaving one member in the dust. That is the main reason I avoid those walls of one liner posts with no content. I keep putting it off, but I really need to go in and resize all my images.
I DO plan to edit the Monsters as we go with names, diet, habits, known weaknesses and abilities. The monster names I leave to you guys. The hellhounds are too easy, so I named them. The abilities of the other monsters I already have in mind. Hint: the pinkish skinned anthropomorphic monsters with the face tentacles target geeks. They might physically assault a jock, but don't really care about them. Geeks they will hunt.
I may as well reveal a spoiler. One place monsters won't pursue is a class room. They also won't enter an area with a teacher in it. Students will discover this rather easily.
Another minor spoiler is that some of you will discover new senses. (Your costumes will behave differently in this hellish realm.)
And ... with the addition of our latest vic --- (cough) ... member(!), I'll try to get a short intro post out. It is just a dry narrative, half made up of the Overview. Well, my first post is ready. Very dry compared to my usual stuff. But I wanted to avoid introducing my own character's actions in it. And I want to see what directions you guys choose.
We do NOT have to have folks enter the RP immediately after the big monster munch fest. I DO want to hold off going to another building as travel across the grounds is risky if you go toward the wrong areas. If you look you will see a couple outdoor type monsters. The big tentacle beast is one. The wraith looking thing is limited to specific areas. The hounds may also patrol the grounds at times.
Those of you who have expressed interest, but not posted a CS, by all means do. I get writer's block all the time. This RP is designed for people to be able to join in solo at any point, and hook up with the group as the RP progresses if they think they can match posting frequency of that group. I do NOT expect your CS to be as detailed as mine, Sharlene's or Darth's. If it is, great.
Also, posting was noted as Intermediate - not advanced. You don't have to be an English major here. having a keen eye toward the problems the students will face helps. Survival is the goal at first. Long term survival will mean acquiring the means to protect yourselves, move unmolested, and get sleep without being hounded (pun intended).
Gonna give it a shot see if I can't push myself to become better. I may not always be able to do three paragraphs but if I make the cut I'll give it my best effort. Only one question, depending on the costume, can they have weapons...like a katana.
Sharlene already knows. The hell hounds and monsters are fairly generic NPC's. The demons and teachers should be treated like Characters though. Not all of them are out to kill you. Some may even be helpful.
Also, various monsters have specific advantages and weaknesses. Yes, there will be characters in the RP that know about them. Hellhounds I will say a little about. They can take a serious beating - falls from great distances, bullets, clubs, etc ... relatively ineffective. Blades happen to be a lot more effective. They are tough and resilient, but can be cut. They are not especially bright. They do have a couple very specific weaknesses.
