What do you post for emotional fulfillment?

Sometimes throughout my work day I get discourage or just feel bored or under stimulated or whatever. I noticed if I go spam forum games it entertains me slightly but it doesn't really bring me back to center. Sometimes I can get enough time in for good RP posts which totally bring me back to center. Sharing an in depth opinion in the debate threads feels worth while but it doesn't really do much to brighten my day.

Is there something I'm missing that I could be doing in other forums that im doing in in the RPs?

Does anyone get a similar emotional benefit from other posts as they do from RPs?

My little theory is that RPs allow for an outflow of emotions, wheres if im in a discussion im logical and analytical, and if im posting in a forum game im just being goofy. I suppose if i wanted to i could just lash out with my emotions in whatever i do, but that would kind of just make me seem like an a-hole. Not to say my only emotion is anger.

Though, I do feel that there may be more truth to the idea that I could be doing more in other areas (not just on RpN) to express my emotions that wouldn't be a lashing out.

After all, thats the only way we connect with people right? Through emotions?

Well you do bring a valid point to the table as i often find that i do put a lot of how my day went into the rp, for instance if it was a long and boring day my character tends to be either irritated or just plain tired as it reflects how i feel. I have a lot on my mind in my life right now as it seems that my mother sees that my father is showing signs of decay if you will, that and i'm in my last couple of semesters of high school so i have to deal with the stress of applying to college scholarships etc etc and it does help that i rp as it does remove a lot of stress from my system. And the way that i see it is that people in general can lie very easily as in the real world i tend to show people what they want to see when in actuality it tends to be a mask that i put on to make people happy. I think that rps remove that mask for you as you are no longer you you become your character which makes it easier to express your emotions.

Its like, in order for an rp to work people have to work together. Its almost like the more messed up your character is the more interesting the RP, but if people dont work together creating the RP then it fails...just like life, mannn.

some deep stuff here, but yes i have to agree with that, in a new rp i'm making for a 1x1 my character is a female ((don't ask)) and she has alot of issues and it is a sort of test to maybe test this theory you have of messed up character= longer roleplay.
