(Cain and Jason)

matthew7.jpeg

Personality:

Thanks to Jason and his brother, he never became the reclusive soul that he was on the path to being. Instead he's actually fairly outgoing - even if it is just an act - and he's almost never intentionally rude to people. It's not as if he's confused on how to have fun, he just...doesn't. At least, not often.

Cain happens to be both apathetic and empathetic at the same time. He cant turn them off. Whereas at a crime scene people would tent to feel towards the victim, feeling their pain or feeling sorry for them, Cain would feel the opposite. He would be totally oblivious in the moment to what the victim would have felt in the moments leading up o their death, and instead would have associated with the killer himself. and the reason why.

Quirks:

-Bites his lip when thinking too hard

-Often will fiddle with his shirt collar if he's feeling awkward

-Harbors a startlingly cold glare if he's being bothered

Biography:

Law enforcement seems to have run in the family for the Grahams - though it comes at quite a price.

Practically raised in the forensics department, little Cain Graham's parents were murdered a year after his brother was even born. He'd been sent to live with his second closest family member - his uncle, detective Will Graham. The man had done his best to take care of the boys, but he couldn't just leave them at home all the time. When Cain hit about twelve, he began begging to be taken along to the crime scenes, tired of being stuck with a babysitter every weekend. After months of endless pestering, William finally gave in and brought him, though under strict orders to stay put and not to wander off. It was extremely unfortunate that this particular crime scene housed a murder so gruesome it could only be the handiwork of one man - the man Will had worked so hard to catch after he realized his almost - fatal mistake.

Straying from his spot, Cain wandered into a clearing by the house that was under inspection, bored from not being allowed to see anything. Typical, of a boy of his age to be eager to see blood and guts, as if it were some violent aftermath of a terminator movie. Little did he know that he'd stumble upon the body of the victim, mounted upon a stag's antlers, blood running downwards in rivers around her body with her ribs displayed for the world to see. He'd been scared stiff for a good moment, rooted to the spot, but he did eventually go closer. and closer. Close enough to reach out and touch...which he did. And when his hand came back covered in red, Cain had gone far beyond the point of "getting too close," as Jack Crawford was always afraid that his uncle would.

Who knew the little boy would meet the Chesapeake Ripper before any of the FBI? For when he turned around, and met the eyes of Hannibal Lecter, he knew. And the killer would watch him closely, neither of them moving a muscle, until Hannibal turned, leaving the boy with the corpse, and the nagging question of why he was still alive and not dead next to the mounted body.

Fast forward about twelve years. Cain's got a masters degree and a badge to match, taking his uncle's position with the FBI. He may not have had the level of empathy that William did, but he had the art of deduction on his side - as well as personal experience. He has an ability to read people like a book, mentally and psychically. This, paired with his drive, was what allowed him to catch a total of six killers over a collective three years. His determination however, was coming from a place darker than most people would think.

He never told his uncle about Hannibal. Of course, one could write this off as the paranoia and misunderstanding of a young child, and he would have let himself if it wasn't for the understanding. Every time, every time he witnessed a corpse, or even an act of murder, he couldn't help but understand why it was done. and what scared him the most was the appreciation he felt for each of them. Not the simple slashes of the throat, or the bullet to the head - but the sadistic beauty, the chilling work of art behind murders like the one he had first seen as a child. It was just sad that he happened to have a morality complex to match.

It was only when he met Jason that he stopped overworking himself, stopped spending every minute of his life hating himself and attempting to make up for it with his job, the struggle to try not to enjoy his work in the way he often did. The man that made him forget the terror inducing eyes that had evaluated him that night.

He thought it would be an escape. But really, he was just bottling his emotions, pretending his problems weren't there, an ignorance of reality. And all the while, the darkness that threatened to swallow him whole just grew larger...

Name:

Alistair Lecter

Alias:

Gordon Carr

Age:

25

evan-peters-1-300.jpg

Personality:

Alistair is disturbed. He speaks in intricate riddles that can haunt your core and has no filter on his thoughts or actions. He is known to bend the moral code of humanity to his own desires and cover his manipulative tendencies with a sweetness that rivals sugar. The young Lecter is incredibly brilliant, yet he doesn't put his entire effort into anything--besides his "past-times". Alistair is not completely horrid though. He has a penchant for beauty and purity in life. The passion he puts into his work makes up for and amount of effort that is lacking. He is charitable--making many donations to research for cancer and Autism. The man can be a bit...clingy. When he sees someone he wants he will stop at nothing to get that person. Although, it should be noted that he only wants one person...
