Leo sighed as he reached up a pale hand to flick long red hair out of bright green eyes. He'd just finished moving into the apartment he'd be sharing with some random stranger. Don't get him wrong, he was happy to be moving out of that big, lonely mansion, but living with a total stranger? That was a bit much, even for Leo Bell. Flopping down on the couch that was already set up in the living room, he gazed boredly at the door, waiting for his new roommate to arrive.

Madison didn't have much with him. He didn't really have all that much to begin with. He walked to the apartment, regretting his decision a little bit. Moving out? He was ready for that. Rooming with a complete stranger? Heck no. The most he could hope for was that his roommate wasn't one of those guys. The ones that saw him and did the whole "are you sure you're a boy? You look like a girl to me" thing or "isn't Madison a girl name?" and make jokes about it constantly. Yes, both were true, he did look feminine and Madison was a girl's name but neither were his choice. He finally opened the door to see the other guy had already arrived and he was sitting there. Staring at the door. "U-Um, hi." And the awkward began.

Leo sat up a bit straighter and looked over the... boy?... that had just come through the door. Finally meeting the kid's eyes, he gave a slight smirk. "Hey, kid. You my new roommate?" He asked, eyes sparkling with laughter. How old was this kid? 14? He didn't look old enough to be moving out of his parents' place. He also looked kind of like a girl...

Madison held in his sigh. He knew it. He could see it. The guy was laughing at him on the inside. Probably coming up with teasing comments to say to him. Likely all ones he's heard before. Then it started, in a small way but it started. The word 'kid'. He didn't think Madison was 18 and he knew it. He just nodded a bit. He didn't like that he'd called him 'kid' but he couldn't get himself to say anything about it. He never could. This was what he hated about being painfully shy on top of everything else.

The redhead nodded back, smiling easily. "Leo Bell. And you are?" He asked, sweeping his bangs out of his eyes to see the other better. He'd like to know a bit about the guy he'd be rooming with for the next who-knows-how-long. So, start with the basics. Introduce yourself and show an interest in knowing the other person's name, or at least what they choose to go by.

Madison wasn't sure what to do. He had come to terms with his name, but not how people reacted to it. It took him a moment to say anything. "Um, Madison Matthews, but everyone just calls me Madi." Now he just had to see how he reacted. Madison bet it would be something about it being 'girly' like everyone else did.

Leo raised an eyebrow, and his smile turned into more of a smirk, but he didn't comment on the odd name. "Well, Madi, it's a pleasure. I'm sure we'll learn to at least tolerate each other. So! What kinds'a things d'ya like?" He asked, standing up and reaching back to tie his hair in a low ponytail. "Personally, I'm fond of video games and music. Other stuff too, but those are the main ones." He glanced at him as he made his way towards the kitchen for a 1L bottle of pepsi. "What about you, boy-o? What d'you like?"

He...didn't say...anything? Madison thought that was weird. Not that he was complaining at all. He'd take some obvious "I think it's weird/funny/unfortunate" smirk over actual comment on it. Then Leo asked what he liked. He watched him stand and tie his hair back. He wasn't sure what to say exactly. However, Leo said something first and asked again. 'Boy-o'? That was new. "U-Um..." What did he like? This was why he hated meeting people. "Um, music and reading." There, he said something, he knew that it was a start.

"Reading's good. Keeps ya smart." He nodded sagely, closing the fridge door with his hip. "What do you like to read? What kind of music do you listen to? Do you watch movies? What kinds?" He needed to get some details out of this kid. He seemed okay so far, but they needed to find some kind of common ground where they could actually get along.

Madison nodded slightly. Then he asked four questions in a row. Madison could feel himself starting to panic. He always got this way with three or more questions. His mind always blanked on him and he could never think of anything. What were the questions? He got the knot in his stomach that told him he was going to make Leo hate him. He was going to ruin it in the first five minutes. "I-I, um, I-I don't, I don't know." He said quietly. Really it was true too, most of his choices went with his mood.

Raising an eyebrow, the long haired 18 year old nodded slowly. "Oookaaayy then..." He mumbled, looking the other up and down once more. "Do you ever watch movies or anything?" He tried again, wondering if perhaps he'd just overwhelmed the kid. He looked like the kind of guy that would freak out if too many things were thrown at him at once.

Madison looked down when Leo looked at him. He knew it. The other thought he was weird. He could tell by his voice and the words he'd said. Everyone said it like that when they thought he was weird. Then Leo asked him just one question. Maybe he didn't think he was totally weird. Or he was giving him another chance, but he could answer one question. "Um, sometimes." He said. He didn't watch too many new ones though.

He nodded. "Okay. It's a start... What kind of music do you normally listen to? I like pretty much anything. Except rap. I can't stand rap." He shook his head, sighing a bit. "Most of the people I know from childhood are either hardcore rappers or strictly classical. Like, classical's nice and everything, but there are a lot of other types of music that are just as good..." Looking at him again with a sheepish grin, he shook his head slightly, to clear his thoughts. "Sorry. I'm rambling, aren't I?"

Madison listened to him. He was about to say something when Leo kept talking. It made him feel slightly better that he was talking and Madison didn't have to for awhile. Suddenly he stopped talking and Madison wished he would start again. "Um, no, it's okay." He said. He really like it when others talked and didn't rely on him. "I grew up on bits of everything." He told him.

Nodding along to his words, the redhead smiled slightly. "Cool. Do you care if I keep music playing most of the time? I can't stand it being quiet for too long... For the most part, I listen to a lot of country and rock, with some classical thrown in and a bit of jazz... I think... I don't really pay a whole lot of actual attention to what the genre of the song is. If I like it, I like it. The genre doesn't really matter so much to me. Oh, and I also like to listen to a bunch of anime openings and J-Pop, and a bit of K-Pop." Pausing to look at the other boy, he tilted his head, not unlike a puppy. "Do you care if I keep the music on?"

Madison was glad that he started talking again after he asked a question. Once more, Madi found himself starting to feel okay just a little bit. This guy talked a lot, Madi could handle that. It was just if he expected Madi to talk a lot that there would be an issue. He shook his head a little bit. Then he realized that he hadn't moved from the door and he still had to unpack. "U-Um, which bedroom is, um, is mine?" He asked after a moment. He guessed that Leo had already unpacked and claimed a room.

Blinking rapidly, Leo mentally face-palmed. "Oh! Right! You'll wanna unpack and stuff, right? I got the first room down the hall on the left. You can have either one of the other two rooms and I was thinking of using the other as a sort of game room? Do you like games at all? Maybe we could play together sometime... If you don't that's fine too, of course... It was just a suggestion..." He rubbed the back of his neck, slightly embarrassed.

Madi wasn't sure what to think about a game room. It took him a moment to think about it. "That, um, that sounds cool." He said, although he never really played any sort of games. After another moment, he stepped further into the room and then made his way down the hall. He noted which one was Leo's and then went to another of the doors. He set his things down and took another moment to look around. He still had his box of actual books, another of music books, and his keyboard to bring up. If he lucked out, he could take two more things at once and get it done quicker. So he left his room, not saying anything and went back out to his hand-me-down car. It was several of his brothers' first.

Blinking owlishly, Leo shrugged. "I'll take that as a yes, then." With that, he went to start setting up the game room. It would contain all the multiplayer games the redhead owned, like Call of Duty. His single player games were going to be kept in his room, where he could play them solo. He considered, for a moment, going to help Madi with his things, but... Shaking his head, Leo decided he'd go offer his help. Going down the stairs, he stood in the doorway to the building. "Hey boy-o! Need any help?"

Madi had opened the backseat and was pulling the keyboard box out. It had the actual keyboard, the stand, the charger and the headphones he used with it inside. He was going to take that in first and come back for the other two boxes on the floor in his car. Then he heard Leo's voice. He still wasn't used to the 'boy-o' but he kept telling himself that it could be worse. He stood up straight again and looked back at Leo standing in the doorway to the building. "U-Um, that, that'd be nice, um, thanks." He said. He could start setting up sooner if Leo helped.

Grinning slightly, the redhead made his way over to Madi's car, hands planted on his hips. "Okay, so what do you want me to carry, then?" He asked in a surprisingly kind voice.

Madi watched as Leo came over. Then he asked what he could do. The logical thing would be to just sort of give him the keyboard he was holding and grab a box of his own. However, Madi was almost insanely cautious about the keyboard. He never really let his own brothers touch it. "Um, you can take one of the, um, one of the boxes there." He said, motioning to the boxes in the backseat.

Nodding a bit, Leo bent down to take one of the boxes into his arms, hefting it out of the backseat with little trouble. He may not look like it at first glance, but Leo was a fairly strong guy. Turning back to Madi, he gestured slightly with his foot. "Lead the way."
