Pash knew any call for Arlack was going to cause trouble.

The ship was as usual, long periods of calm boredom followed by a quick run about anytime Ardana strayed too close to a patrol or hostile planet.

But the beeping on the console wouldn't go away on its own, and the name on it was certainly Arlack's. Pash had read enough Dosh by now to understand his name.

"Arlack! Get up here, someone has a message for you!"

Slowly but surely Arlack swaggered down the passageway, blaster rifle never far from his lizard-like grip. At just over 6'4'' Arlack was not much taller than Pash, but the gun he carried easily bulked him up to the point of stupidity. Always one for a hunt this Assassin had overcome half a dozen droids in their last encounter before charging down the final. Still though, his intelligence left a lot to be desired.

"Yes? what is it now, I was busy"

"You have a message for you, take it here, me and Ardana can leave if you want"

"Screw you Pash im staying right here" came a voice from the other chair

As small as she was no one would mess with Ardana, purely because no one had ever taken her vibroknife from her, and the chance of her slitting your throat while your sleep was stupidly high.

"I don't care if you want to listen to this, but dont comment" replies Arlack candidly

"Well then time to listen" Pash replies, hitting the playback button

The flight chair dwarfed the red skinned twi'lek, the light from the consoles reflecting in her jade green eyes. She knew the message ment trouble, she'd known Arlak long enough to understand that. The Trandoshan towered over the console, his clawed hand hovering over the console as though he was loking for the right button to press. He found it at last and the message began to play, the sound of harsh basic filling the cockpit.

"Old friend, I have work for you." Ardana looked in Arlak's direction, he had never spoken of a Rhodian that he would consider a friend, so she assumed that the term was used loosely. "A bounty. On an Aqualish thug called Bandin Doba."

Ardana stopped listening at this point and began a search on that name. It was true, he was wanted for smuggling and gang related violence. Last sighted on the planet Formos.

The messaging was just ending as she finished reading and she looked back in the direction of her fellow crew members. Arlak seemed a little disspleased furthering her belief this Godon Nettaka was less than a friend.

"So do we have a job?"

"We have a job, Ardana take us to Formos, let us see what we can find on this Bandin Doba"

With a flick of the controls Ardana flipped the ship onto trajectory with the system with a look in Pash's direction.

Since holding a blaster too his head little over a year ago the mood had not improved overly between the two of them. Something was always left unsaid, some electricity in the air which Pash hated. He preferred knowing if someone was an ally or an enemy. More important things had to be worked on though. His plan as always was simple, find the person, take them, get the money, leave. Dont ask how or why or what unless you need to and never under any circumstances work with the Empire unless the choice is death or work. He left the cockpit, troubled as if failing to notice a small detail.

In the cargo bay things were simpler. His DL20-C variant was in pieces on a cloth, he reassembled them before turning to his armour, battered and worn from previous owners and pitched firefights. Polishing the abalative sections to increase reflection he moved to work on the electronics. Padded armour was not really what he wanted in a fight, but it had its uses, and was much better than the clothing Ardana wore whenever she used that blaster Pash had "given" to her. As he finished his eyes widened as the huge shape of none other than Dovahkin, resident wookie and annoyance graced his view.

Long legs unfurled from underneath her, heeled boots clicking against the hard cockpit floor. The ship was designed for a pilot much taller than her so she had to stretch out to reach the controls even with the pilots chair fully adjusted. She ran a quick astrogation check, finding the quickest route to the planet. Formos was a smuggling haven in the Kessel sector, so mapping a route there was easy. She glanced over at Pash before kicking the ship in to hyperdrive. She still didn't trust her crewmates, she didn't really trust anyone anymore. As the stars elongated in to the white pinstripes against the black of space, she heard footsteps heading out, leaving her and Arlak alone.

"So Who is this guy?" She muttered, sure that she wasn't going to like the answer. She knew Arlak was a bounty hunter. Thats how they had met, and it wasn't a line of work she particularly agreed with.

"We worked together. Long time ago." It was a simple answer but it was all she needed. She turned her attention back to the console, leaning back in her chair. She had a bad feeling about this.

"RAWRRRRRRRRR" moaned the wookie as he strode across the deck, almost knocking Pash over as he barged past to get to his bowcaster. A worn thing it looked as battered as half the ship, itself in terrible condition.

"Yes yes I know it is time to go kill things, aren't you meant to be helping fly this thing?"

"Rawrrr"

"I know she doesn't like you, but she is damn good at what she does, she just needs you in case we run into a patrol and someone needs to do some actual flying with a copilot"

"RAwrrRR"

"Some rodian that Arlak knows, pretty sure we are going to walk into some sort of trap but you never know, plus with the creds from the last job we are set for the next few months and can finally start upgrading this piece of Rat fodder"

Dovahkin walks off in a sulk, Pash sighs, putting on the final part of his gauntlets before settling down to think as he prepped the rest of the gear, could this be a trap? Probably, but it was work, and anything that would keep him busy was better than thinking of Ardana and the past.

The journey wasn't a hugely long one, but it gave her time to sit back and read. She read up on their target and on this Netakka as well. It seemed that the Rodian was a bounty hunter as Arlak had implied, but it didn't seem he was a very good one. Seemed odd that Arlak would want to work with him. She was about to drop out of hyperspace, just before hitting Formos' gravity well. As if on que the great silver wookie appeared in the doorwar and grunted something.

"Sit down, shut up and don't touch a thing." She snapped, once again focusing on the controls. Hands deftly found the coms and dialed the Formos Port Control.

"This is the Randy Gammorean requesting landing." A voice crackled to life in response.

"Randy Gammorean state your bussiness." The official sounding voice demanded.

"None of yours." She retorted sharply, there was only a small imperial force on Formos and she knew she could get away with it. Her cutting tone raised a grumble from the controller but he spewed out the landing codes and the bay before she cut of the radio. She set the ship down in the allotted zone and killed the engines. "Lets go furball."

As usual Jayne and Pash were first off , Pash handing the docking droid a credit chit to pay the fee while scanning for threats among the small number of freighters about. Instantly spotting a light Imp transport his eyes flick to the layout, make, and model to reassure himself it is little more than that used by the garrison and not a hunting shuttle as on a previous planet. The small crowd milling about outside the shuttleport immediatly appealed to Pash as the smuggler he was. Bounty hunters, smugglers and aliens of all kinds were busy ripping each other off and trying to get the other hand.

"So, cantine?" Ardana asks nonchalantly as she glances around, curious as to what sort of reception they would get from this rodian.

"Yeah, i need a drink and possibly something that isnt Opera" Pash replies, armour boiling in the heat

Some days you knew were going to be bad, before they even started.....

Heels clicked against the corridoor flooring, her blaster in one hand, vibrokinfe already hidden away. As she joined the others she tucked it safely away. She glanced about her, before her eyes fell back on the rest of the crew. The cantina was the best bet, all traders went through there and if he wasn't waiting for them there, someone would have surely seen the man they were looking for. She led on towards the main town, and as always she could feel eyes on her. A Twi'lek of lethan colouration such as her was a rare sight and she always drew attention. They found the building they were looking for and entered with caution. Already there were holo's advitising the bounty on Doba, he was clearly a desireable target in the sector and people were eager for his capture.

She made a beeline for the bar, hips swinging, her movements almost feline in their grace. The young female rodian behind the bar looked up as she approched.

"Wyrens Reserve." She said in a tone that could almost be described as soft, it sounded strange to her.

"help...... me......"

Pash whirled around as Ardana and the others walked into the bar, running behind he noticed the torn apart barely functioning protocol droid lying amongst the wreckage of a typical cantina rubbish dump.

"oh little droid what happened to you?..." Pash murmered as with a small amunt of mechanical knowledge he causes a small amunt of life to appear in one of the eyes of the helpless unit

"My friend, have you seen my little friend? He was taken by those men, my master Godon will repay you well"

"Godon?" possibly the very same who Arlak knew, maybe there was more trouble than he let on?

"Yes, now sir if youll please let me resume my duti.......s" the droid spluttered and died, sparks flying as Pash jumped away and hurridly made for the bar. Little did he know that a Toydarian had seen the whole thing and was now following Pash.

In the bar the music was loud, some melody often played in cantinas the galaxy over, almost annoying by now. A flash of red instantly caught the eye so Pash knew where Ardana was when he got to the bar and ordered a light refreshment. A word here and there puts it out that some new people in town want to look for work and in minutes a thug is over offering work in return for taking out of a small target in the marketplace tomorrow. Arlak could handle it any day of the week. Things were looking good, which meant they would go bad, how though would not be for Pash to know untill after they happened.

The transparisteel cup felt cool in her hand, the amber liquid releasing a tantilising scent. She brought it to her lips and savoured the taste of the fine Corellian whiskey. It was rare she got to drink a decently branded drink so she planned to enjoy it whilst she could. After a bit of probing it seemed no one had seen hide nor hair of this Godon, and yet Ardana still suspected that the rodian barmaid knew more than she was letting on. She moved over to where Pash and Arlak stood, leaning on the bar next to the huge Trandoshan.

"So it seems your friend has vanished. Only word of his ship, a Firespray was seen here a week or so ago." She drained the rest of her glass and put it down on the bar.

"So what now?"

"What now is we have a quick chat with this man Lei Murouy, if we work for Doba we find Doba, and then we take Doba" Pash replied sternly

"Im sssssssssurrrrrrrrreeee he would be here" Arlak said icily, as was oft his tone "He isssssss never late"

"Well he is now, and his droid thinks he might be in trouble" chances are he got himself killed thought Pash to himself

"Well then get the guy and lets get out of here Pash" Ardana scowled as yet another smuggler tried his luck and failed miserably "This bar is starting to give me the creeps"

Upon leaving the cantine Jayne instantly spots the Toydarian who was following Pash, rather than wait he sprints after it, clipping its wing before hauling it to the ground.

"What do you want with us?" Jayne demands, rifle thrust in the face of the stunned Toydarian

"Please, i just paid to follow, i mean no harm" it replies, snout twitching in fear

"Well stop it, who paid you!" finger on the trigger Pash looks worryingly at Jayne, always a bit gung-ho he had taken things a bit far this time

"I dont know"

"Whhhhell then" Said Arlak, calmly placing a bolt between the Toydarians eyes

"Holy crap Arlak!" Pash says, almost stunned, before turning round and heading back to the ship, exhasperated at again the bloodhirsty nature of his crew

She cast an icy glare at some of the patrons in the bar as they left. The air in the bar had been stifiling and it was good to be outside again. Before they had even had a chance to move Jayne had sprinted off down a side street. The ring of a blastershot filled the air and Ardana took off after the others. The stunned look of the Toydarian and the splatter of blood summed up what had happened. Before she could interject Arlak obliterated the poor creature.

"Really. Was there any need for that." She said placing a hand on her hip. "Well there goes that lead." She turned away without another word and moved back towards the ship. She found her way back to the cockpit and perched in her chair.

Pash never slept well, dreams haunted by blasterfire, even at his age he had seen more carnage and death than most would in a lifetime on Eriadu. He woke up to the dawn with bloodshot violet eyes and strted off by getting a caff before realising it was too early to be up. Making Caff for the others he left it by their beds before pputting his feet on the controls to nap as Ardana wakes up.

"Get up you lazy nerfherder" She says coldly downing the caff in one gulp before sliding on her belt "Time to find us an impersonator"

"Yes sir" thought Pash sarcastically

"Okay Ardana" said Pash as straightfaced as possible before readjusting his armour and stepping off onto the dusty ground, group in tow, and headed for the market

Ardana was up until the small hours reading, she loved learning and spent as much of her free time as she could finding out about anything and everything. She dozed of just before dawn, the datapad still cradled in her lap. She woke up to the sound of soft breathing and her green eyes rested on Pash. She gave a gentle smile as she noticed the caff he had brought. She got changed silently, letting him rest for a while longer.

Moving back across the flightdeck she slapped his feet off the console, hands on her hips an a scowl fixed on her face.

"Were you born in a barn? Feet off the console." She finished adjusting her belt and left, heading out. She checked her blaster as she waited for everyone else to join her. They followed on swiftly and began to head towards the market place. Dovakhins fur looked like it hadn't ever been brushed, the sign of a rough night sleep perhaps. The market was bustling with life, the air laden with scents and alive with sounds. There was a lot to take in and being as short as she was she felt crowded, unable to see very far ahead.

The market was packed, aliens of all colours and creeds were about, no lawmen to be seen and certainly no sense of order about the place. Although Ardana looked uncomfortable Pash was in his element. He had already picked out half a dozen potentials but it wasnt untill Arlak spotted someone that Pash became focused. As he looked Lei was threatening a stallholder with the name Bandin Doba, this was bviously a fake as no real protection racket would reveal the name of such a high ranking individual, certainly not the boss. How to go about this? the answer was obvious, he had a well equipped team including a very shooty sniper who happened to enjoy hunting humans. Arlak stepped up, unslung his rifle and calmly slotted the man, who crumpled to the ground, before striding away in the panic of the fleeing crowd. Wanting to escape before the Imps arrived Pash and the others moved to the Cantina, not knowing it was there things would start to go badly.

Sitting at the table it wasnt long before a young Rodian femal approached them and asked them about her brother, a bounty hunter named Godon Nettakka.....

Ardana found herself walking a little closer to Pash than she was comfortable with, but his height made sure people moved out of his way and she planned to take advantage of that. Arlak completed the hit in his usual simple fashion, and they coved from the bustling streets in to the cantina. Ardana led them to a booth and took a seat, which is where they were when the rodian from the previous day approched them. She claimed she was his sister, and that she was worried about her brothers wereabouts.

"So why didn't you tell us this yesterday" She said eyeing up the rodian, not sure if she was to be trusted.

"I guess I was afraid." The stutter in her voice told the twi'lek she wasn't lying.

"Well tell us what you know, where was he last seen. What was he doing." She litened as she told them everything peicing together their next move. It looked like they weren't going to have much luck here on Formos.

"He was last seen going after Doba with those little droids of his, the protocol one and that little astromech droid" the Rodian stuttured

"Well i can tell you that protocol droid wont function anymore, not in the state I found it in" replied Pash "But if you want to come along then feel free, only as far as your brother though, and dont expect to laze about on the ship"

"Oh no i wont, wait isnt that one of Doba's men?"

Sure enough Daro Blunt had just swaggered into the bar, pistol at his hip. This was the guy who had given the crew the job, but he did not look best pleased.

"Well done on the job, now leave this place"

"What do you mean leave?" Pash replied

"Yes we did your job, we expect to get paid, or the work we were promised" Ardana could have killed people with that look Daro was recieving right there and then

"Well if you want to complain come meet me outside in an hour and we can have a more private chat"

"WARNING!, TRAP!" had just gone off inside Pash's head but "Sound's good" was all he could say, this was going to be interesting.

On Daro's exit the crew instantly forms a plan, Arlak will sneak on the top of a nearby building with Dovahkin on the cantina roof (much to the confusion of Pash, who had no clue as to his prowess with that bowcaster) Jayne would snipe too, leaving Pash and Ardana in the main line of fire. Pash didnt like that, he himself he was comfortable risking, but Ardana was so small that she would feel blaster bolts that much more than him. After much arguing he reluctantly walked a metre behind on the way to what was probably an ambush that would get them killed.

Daro walked with a swagger that pissed Ardana off. The smug satisfied look he gave as he refused them their pay made her blood boil. She watched him leave wishing for nothing more than his death. They all knew it was a trap, none of them were that stupid and there was no way they were going to walk in to it unprepared.

She wouldn't lie, she was nervous. She took a deep breath as they stepped out of the cantina, eyes narrowing against the increased light. The others were in position, she wondered if Daro would have predicted them, wether he had put his own snipers in place. But that was the least of her worries for now, as they had just come face to face with the daunting Daro Blunt. He stood, his first mate beside him and behind them another handful of men, all armed to the teeth.

"I wouldn't think it would take that many men to carry our credits Daro." She spat venomously. He laughed back at her, seemingly unfazed by her tone.

"Little lady, I don't plan to pay people that wont live to spend it." As if on que all the men raised their blasters, but it was Arlak who was first to pull the trigger, scoring a hit on one of the thugs.

Pash was quick to move close to Ardana as Arlak dropped the first man, his blaster sending little bursts of fiery death into the chest of a peon. An aqualish thug bellowed at Pash only to be bellowed back at by an angry wookie who jumped off the cantina roof, shock gloves at the ready.

"why do we even bother putting him there if........" and then it happened

Some snot nosed aqualish thought that Ardana looked an easy target, and dropped her with a single blast to the shoulder

Pash's heart stopped, and he knew then that he would do anything to save her.

"ARDANA" He screams kneeling beside her, stimpack in hand, injecting her even while still firing.

The yell sends the others into a fury, blasters firing, men dropping like fliesas the last few turn tail and run.

"Arlak, hunt them"

"With pleasure boss"

Pash looks down at the wound Ardanna has receieved. Her suit is blackened and her skin is burned horribly over her left shoulder. The stimpacks had started their work and already some colour had returned to her cheeks.

"Pash????"

"I'm here Ardana i'm here"

"Get the bastards will you? i need a minute............." falling in and out of conciousness Ardana is picked up by a shamefaced wookie, whos shockgloves failed to even graze the idiots who had attacked them.

"Oh dont worry my little friend, they have no idea what they have done"

Sparks seem to flare across those violet eyes as Pash powers up his rifle and moves to aid Arlak

Pain seared through her left side, and she dropped to the floor. The smell of burning flesh filled her nose as she awoke, looking up to see Pash standing protectively over her. Her hand rose to touch the wound and her face creased in pain. Dovakhin lifted her and the pain forced a small whimper to escape her lips. She must have blacked out again ecause when she woke up only Daro was still standing. She found her own blaster and joined the others, biting back the pain that shot through her.

"Put me down." She demanded, and the wookie obliged somewhat unwillingly. She was a little unsteady on her feet but managed to stay upright, the sound of the blaster adding to the chorus of shots.

All of their enemies were down when the Twi'lek re-holstered her blaster, using her good arm she brushed the silver wookie fur off her clothes.

"Well its safe to say this outfit is ruined." She grumbled, peeling the singed fabric away from the wound. She looked between the members of the crew, checking that they were all uninjured, and was relieved to see that it was only her who had been hit.

The warehouse was barely able to withstand the fury of the Randy Gammorean crew, Arlak laid a hail of fire down and even Ardana shot a fe of the mobsters. Daro Blunt was the only one still breathing when the fire cleared and the astromech inside was very useful as to the location of Bandin Doba. A safe inside also contained a huge blaster rifle which Jayne took with great glee. Now there was just the issue of Daro to be dealt with.

"So Mr Blunt you think it isss okay to pick on girlsssssssssss"

"No Sir"

"Ssssssssssirrrrrrrr?" Arlak was enjoying this "I dont like sssssssire i preferrrr masssssssster"

"Oh Arlak just find out what we want and get on with it" Pash says, hating the drawn out torture Blunt was being subjected to

"SSSSSSSSSSoooooo where is Godon?"

"The little Rodian? on Bandin's ship, not likely to find him anytime soon"

"Well dont worry because you wont be coming with us, youre going to be visiting a nice place called Kessel"

Pash clapped him in binders and shoved him towards the local imperial garrison where he picked up a few credits before heading back to the ship to find Ardana already warming up the engines

"Don't you want to rest?" he asked cautiously, more wondering if she was about to collapse than anything else

"No Pash im fine, lets get this scum"

Ardana watched as Pash and Arlak interrogated Daro, rather than staying around to hear the end of it she headed back to the ship. She reached the cockpit and pulled her medkit out. She was no doctor but she was learning. She removed her ruined shirt, making sure to lock the door so none of the boys could walk in on her, and began to clean and dress the wound. It was a pretty clean shot, the only dirt was where the melted remains of her clothing had fused with the cauterised flesh. She bit down on the hilt of her vibroknife as she treated herself, focusing on that stopped her blacking out from the pain. Once she had bandaged it to the best of her abilities she pulled on an old shirt of Pash's that she had once used as a makeshift dress, covering up her old dancers attire. She thought back to that day, he'd been the only human to ever offer her a helping hand, she was in his debt and she hated that thought. She re-opened the door, clothed again now, even if the shirt did swamp her, falling almost to her knees. She heard the others return and by then was running the startup procedures, she probably wasn't fit to fly but she wasn't going to let the others view her as weak. She avoided looking at Pash as he spoke, focusing more on what she was doing.

"Where are we headed?" She quizzed softly, too tired to add the usual scorn to her tone.

"Some tiny asteroid, let the droid give you the heading"

Pash left the cockpit, shaken that Ardana had recovered so quickly, but he needed some more caff. Feeling he lift of leaving Formos he took off most of his gear, only leaving on the parts of his armour he couldnt get on in 60 seconds (Chestplate, thigh armour) before returning to see if he could help with the jump to hyperspace.

Turns out he wasn't needed, in minutes Ardana had already put the ship in a position to jump and had done her final checks.

"you know sometimes i think you know my ship better than me Ardana"

"Our ship Pash, just because your alias is on the ship documents first doesn't make you Captain"

Damn her, he was as good a leader as any, and his decisions didnt end up with someone getting a bolt to the shoulder

"Whatever, just get us there asap please, i like this job less and less by the minute"

She looked over the astro course the droid had set and once she was happy with it alowed the droid to plug it in to the nav computer. They were jumping in to hyperspace in no time and she was even tollerant of Pash's presence there too which was a first. She smiled internally at his little comment, she wa becoming a pretty decent pilot now and it pleased her that it was noticed. She knew he was touchy about the 'captain' thing it had become somewhat a joke between the crew members now and it was common practice to antagonize him about it whenever possible. This time he seemed genuinley irritated.

"It's no ones fault I got shot Pash." She said without looking at him, prefering the white streaked stars beyond the ships transparisteel viewport.

"No lasting damage." She raised the left arm to wave at him, surpressing a wince as she did so. "See. fully functional." Her eyes were now fixed on him, unsure of how he would react. She never could read humans as well as she would like.
