Nickname:
Black Hole

Gender: Female
Height: 5'10
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Green
Race: Human
Character Strengths: Despite being depressed, she has a deep well of will-power. Resilient. When engaged, can be a great director. Because of her dour and watchful, rather than happy and active nature, Malda has developed an eye, for breaking down a situation, and seeing the forces at work.
Character Flaws: Liable to have bouts of negativity and hopelessness. Despite being a strong and accomplished mage, she rarely lifts a finger to help others, due to not seeing the point of it all. Lives half-heartedly. Diagnosed with chronic depression. Detached. Mentally sluggish, and physically slow-moving.
Personality: Malda, is nihilistic and depressive. She does not have much to live for; if anything at all. She spends every waking moment, trying to fill the vacuum in her life. Save for, while interacting with her younger sister, Malda shows little feeling or care towards anything. In a detached manner, will she handle most situations, not being "all there." Her thoughts, are always on the next thing. Anything that could stoke the fire of her passion and interest. Usually speaking in a laconic tone, Malda tends to only do, or say, what she feels to enough to move through the situation. Nothing more, and nothing less.
Likes: Does not know.
Dislikes: Her little sister. People being taken advantage of. Mindless violence, and destruction. Pessimists. Aggressive, and overbearing magicians.
The night Novus, was taken away, Malda, was in the next room over, listening to her sister's screaming cries. 'Good riddance.' She thought. It was about time Novus got what was coming to her. She was the younger. She was the one who got all the gifts. She was the one who got all the attention. Now, it was her turn to go out into the wilderness. Now, it was her turn to go through the harrowing, and Malda loved it.
However, things did not turn out the way that she planned. The departure of Novus, dealt a heavy blow to the family. The attention that was supposed to shift to the elder, never came. Instead, things got worse. No longer were there midnight canoe trips, sitting around the table for breakfast, or family outings to the local boutique; all of that, was gone. Day-in and day-out, her parents would strike days off the calendar, awaiting the time, for what seemed like their only daughter, would come back home into their arms.
Yet Novus, never came. For Malda, and most other Clives, it took only a few months, to get used to, and have a handle on the erratic Crash. "Maybe she's a late bloomer. Maybe she needs just a bit more time to get used to the feeling." That's what her parents always said. Even after one year, two years, three years; they continued singing the same song. It tore Malda apart. Even before her sister's departure, she was doing everything she could, to somehow avert their gaze from Novus. She excelled in her studies, did daily work around the house, made her own breakfast and dinner, and even joined the local guild, Twilight Ogre.
Maybe it wasn't enough? Maybe she wasn't working hard enough! So in the midst of her parents' grieving, Malda, decided to take off, become a full-time magician working for her guild, and become the best, and most prestigious wizard she could possibly be. She would make her parents proud. Working her way up through the ranks, Malda's missions, brought her to various locations across Fiore. One in particular, led to the meeting of one of the most influential people in her life: the guild-master of Mermaid Heel. She was an eccentric young lady, a few years younger than Malda herself, but whose mind was clearly years ahead. It was as if she'd lived a life of pain, and had to grow up early, in response to the stress and grief of her situation. The two became fast friends, and eventually, Malda was taught the basics of transportation magic. However, with her new friend's direction, she took it one step further, and created the unique variation of Warp magic.
It was then Mermaid Heel's master asked her to join. Thinking back to why she was doing this all, Malda regretfully refused, citing making her parents proud, as the reason why. The young master understood, and the two parted ways, promising to visit one another, whenever the chance presented itself. In the years following, the young Clive ascended to C-rank, B-rank, A-rank, and ultimately S-rank. To all, it was undoubtedly clear, that this woman, was the most powerful mage, in the Twilight Ogre organization. It was just what she wanted. There were many a powerful mage in Fairytail, so joining them would only obstruct and cast a shadow over her accomplishments; she'd never be able to shine in the way that she was now.
Now being included in the guild's top-level running and management, the mage was shocked to learn, that it ran itself much like mafia. Extortion, black-mail, and outright intimidation, were common happenings in the business of Twilight Ogre. This did not sit right with Malda, so after a meeting on whether they should "close down," a guild trying to start up in the local area, the guild-master was pulled to the side and told this: "When I get enough power, I am going to change this all. I swear it." The guild-master could only laugh; he was awed by the words, and encouraged her to get stronger, and challenge him, when she thought she strong enough.
Three months later, she barged into his office, having discovered "Crash Soul." Through it, she ascended the ranks of normal crash users, to those who have discovered how to successfully fuse it with the magic of another. Now armed with Warp Crash, the challenge was issued, but the don simply stood up, and said he resigned. Turning with his back to the woman, he looked out the window saying, "We do these things here at Twilight Ogre, because we are a small guild. If we don't have physical power, then we have to keep our position by other means. We have to use what little we have, to get around. If that requires double-crossing, and doing dirty things to other folks, then that's what we'll do. Not anymore though. Through you, we have power now Malda, so we don't need to resort to those things. For that, I thank you. I think everyone will be happy to hear that."
The wizard was overjoyed. She had created a new magic, traveled all over Fiore, unlocked the secrets of Crash-Soul, became guild-master of Twilight Ogre, and was about to turn the whole organization around. She had done so much; accomplished so many things. Surely, it had to be enough. It was enough for a hug, a kiss, even a pat on the head would do. What more could a parent ask for? Yet, going back home, would not be a happy occasion, it was something that would scar and change Malda, for the rest of her life. Upon knocking, and hearing no footsteps coming to the door, the wizard created a portal, and warped into her parents' bedroom. They were not there, but a harsh stench could be smelled, wafting from the hallway. Following the horrid scent, she walked down towards Novus' room, pushing the door open. She gasped at her parents, laying dead on the bed, huddled together, slash-marks on both wrists.
An anger burned within Malda. An anger that would be satiated, with anything less than cried of agony from her younger sister. Vowing to find Novus, after completing her transformation of Twilight Ogre, Malda, carried both bodies to the back of the property and buried them in make-shift graves, dug-out by her own hands. There was an initial flurry of press flocking to the residence, trying to gather details of the whole situation, but the wizard stayed mum and deflected all questions, until the long line of visitors steadily trickled down to zero.
That event sealed Malda's slide into depression. Now there is only one thing driving her to continue forward: facing off with her sister, and showering her with the burning hate, that grew in place of the love she had never received.
