Things are proceeding at a good pace (which is perhaps pretty apt),but one or two more participants really couldn't hurt.
Anyway,I thought of playing Mikki Brilliante, one of Deep Impact's grandkids (would need a bit of input regarding the implications of that towards pedigree and running style)...
Alright, figured I'd just put my CS up for consideration.
@SilverDingo let me know if what I've written lines up with the setting,or at least your intended take on it.
@SilverDingo while I'm at it let me ask,are there any NPCs/factions mentioned in the game that might be involved with extensive cybernetic/biological experiments? Consensual or otherwise.
So my character idea was to be a seemingly ordinary high school girl/young woman who's actually the successor of a ninjutsu-like martial art but spent time working with her aunt who runs a smoking lounge in the Outer Ring, trading in grey area quasi-legal entheogenic substances to the inhabitants...
I'll wait a moment to see what other people post, haven't really locked in on my character idea yet.
Well,I did have one,but not sure how well it'd fit.
I think it would work better if there was a broad theme and (initial) motivation like Random Play's movie/tape aesthetic and goal to reclaim their reputation.
That way each PC can draw from the different themes and factions within the city (regardless of any prior affiliation or lack thereof)...
While not a consistent rule,it's true that quite a few characters had influential mortals of mythology/folklore instead of (demi)gods as their initial Personas, and some of them then gained divine Personas only after awakening. I think that's an easy idea to make use of here.
Thoth. Don't forget the H. Thoth is associated more with wisdom and scholarship, but you can certainly make it fit. For an Egyptian deity of music I might think of Hathor or Bastet, and from other mythologies some might be Sarasvati,Apollo or one of the Nine Muses,or Brigid.
No offense taken,I just wanted to bring up the idea that if any of us uses a Persona/demon that's been in the video games already there's probably no need to take their existing assignments as a strict precedent, since the theme of the chosen arcanum should probably come more from how said...
I think on the topic of "which Persona is which arcanum" there's a bit of flexibility there.
Like,Isis was Magician in P2,Lovers in P3,and Empress in P4. They're kind of multi-faceted beings.
Another suggestion I have would be Serket, the Egyptian goddess who is associated with both poison and medicine, but that might be better as an evolution of the initial Persona.
I'm not 100% locked in on participating here yet,but adhering somewhat to the theme of "anti-heroes or dark gods" I'm considering playing a character who has either Bai Mei or Kiyohime as their Persona.
So then I'd bend them into fitting the shape of one of the vacant Arcana.
