Appearance: Variable. Her standard form is a blonde as seen in her pic. Her bioplastic frame and tissue are self-programmable to suit the needs of whomever she is a companion for - within human limits of course. (She can also simulate makeup and hair dyes, tattoos, etc.) She is strictly female in form - never male. Clothing is not a part of her body and must be worn like any other human.


She CAN render her body transparent. But she would still be rather visible due to refraction. This isn't a defense system, but a maintenance thing. She can also make herself phosphoresce. She likes doing this with hair dyes or tattoos.


Clothes: Candice has a rather large wardrobe. one of the things she did with her rather vast wealth was to “accessorize.” She has a number of very classy dresses each worth millions, made of gemstones encases on fermtoengineered nanocasing to prevent damage. Her blue satin dress is actually made of sapphires. The red dress …. (The blue dress is her favorite as if matches the default color of her eyes.

Personality and interests


Personality: She was designed as a Companion, sort of a futuristic version of a blow up sex toy, but vastly more sophisticated. She has all the emotions of humans, but less interest in independence despite being emancipated. Her mind is that of a true AI and capable of learning.


She is currently expanding her horizons, taking on interests in careers and activities that have less to do with being a companion. Her natural interest has been in nursing - which is really just an extension of her natural caregiver nature.


She still hates to be without company of the male variety and will tend to look for a male who she thinks NEEDS her company.


She obeys the Asimovian Laws.


Likes: Socializing, science, and …. The Three S’s as she calls them. Her male companions she prefers males who NEED a companion. She takes this role very serious, even clinical.


Dislikes: Bullies, male chauvinists, Alpha males, clutter without purpose


History (if any)


Candice was designed as a synthetic Companion, made of an advanced form of bioplastic and biogel. Bioplastic is essentially an electronically tweakable plastic. It can be programmed to alter color and physical properties. A sheet of the stuff is tougher than kevlar, so it sees heavy use in light armors. An advanced version of this called reflex allows reinforcement at the cost of becoming temporarily rigid to spread impact.


She feels completely human to the touch and can simulate life functions - though she doesn't have to. She does NOT actually need to breathe - and is unharmed by vacuum conditions. She can eat, but barely needs anything - unless repairing massive damage. She needs light and water to regenerate and maintain power levels.


She is a true AI and capable of warmth and emotion. She is extremely intelligent, but as a companion model, she doesn't show this off, unless her analysis indicates that is what her charge likes. She is much stronger than a human. Her bioplastic myomers have a tensile strength about 20 times that of human tissue. And her bones are virtually unbreakable. Even if they do, they just regrow.


As she was designed to simulate a human female perfectly, her skin is soft


and can be cut, bruised, etc - to a modest depth. But she would make a


decent shield - and wouldn't fight being used as one. In fact, she would


probably insist.

Her last owner was very rich and very eccentric. His last wish and commands were for her to 'broaden her horizons'. He emancipated her and made her his heir. When he passed away she inherited an insane level of wealth.

She is, however, susceptible to such things as radiation. While electrocution won't accidentally change her, it will likely make her go rigid. (She actually becomes tougher when rigid like this.)

Candice carries a huge, dangerous looking energy pistol. It appears to be made of a black plastic and is the size of a Dirty Harry weapon. However the weapon is merely a LOOKER device, which is utterly harmless. It projects a laser based strobe effect that will place a human target in a catatonic state, (Of course, what happens to the human after that might not be so harmless. But the weapon itself cause no lasting damage.)

Appearance: Dr Von Straad looks like an ubermensch elite soldier. And, in fact, that is what he is - or rather the body he now wears. It was originally the body of just such a man, an Aurinthian elite commando who sacrificed his life to save von Straad’s. It is an endless source of discomfort for him trying to keep up the facade.

Teuffelsonne, Azzuriac Imperium, a Tattoine like world with Mars like gravity. The homeworld for his body is Aurinth, an independent world going through an ice age, with a somewhat higher gravity than Tellus. And he has ties to Prometheus, the Mercantile League and the GPR.


History


Christopher von Straad was born in the Azzuriac Imperium and raised in a culture that considered aliens inferior in much the same way South Africa exercised its policy of Apartheid. His homeworld a backwater planet from which a rise through the ranks was unlikely. However von Straad had one thing going for him. He was a genius.


However Von Straad was also not a political extremist and that brought him no end of trouble. he had been rising through the ranks as the movers and shakers of the Empire began to notice his work. To have their potential poster boy speak against the Party line - even in a passing comment had von Straad in an office getting lectured and questioned. He was warned not to let his political views stray.


He had been on the verge of making great strides that would have given the Empire considerable advantages in their stardrives when he decided he had had enough and chose to defect. He didn’t really care where to - just away.


This was how he met his future wives. Natalya Stephanovich, aka Tabetha Reston, was a Power Engineer from the GPR (an enemy of the Azzuriac Imperium) who had found herself in a similar train of thought. Alicia Meyers was the daughter of an asteroid mining family with connections to the Mercantile League. None of them much cared for the allegiances of the others. But after a shooting match over a Precursor find left the three of them stranded aboard a Promethean privateer deep in Korellian space, they were forced to work together to get home.


Commander Rh’kaar Akyr Menkhaar was an Aurinthian elite armsman operating undercover aboard the Promethean vessel who had taken an oath to protect von Straad. When the engineer was captured by the Korellians the armsman had proven his commitment to his oath, Death Before Dishonor. Menkaar was a lensman, He used his mental abilities to swap bodies with von Straad. The Korellians were about to use a telepathic probe. Von Straad would have cracked and revealed the existence of the Tellurians, the Azzuriacs and other star nations, placing them all under the threat of a greater technology.


Menkaar had set charges to destroy the base von Straad had been taken to. He was unable to extract himself, but at least secured the safety of his people and von Straad. Von Straad suddenly found himself in a new body, a commander of a squad of an elite unit of an alien world. The man had a wife, Tara Menkhaar, who was telepathically bonded to him. His life had suddenly gotten complicated....

Also fanatically obsessed with other sciences - especially natural sciences and xenobiology. Speaks, reads and writes Tellurian better than most natives. Also speaks numerous other old languages: German, Latin, Arabic, Greek, Mandarin and Cantonese, Apache, Cherokee, plus Navaho, and some other Native American tongues.


She will treat ANY patient regardless of race, species, color or religion. She does, however, expect to be paid for her services, though she will adjust her fees to the situation. She abides by patient confidentiality. And she will not tolerate any man or woman seeking to harm a patient under her care.

History


Born on a backwater planet originally settled by Lithuanians to modestly wealthy "businessman" (what was known during the era of the Soviet Union as Thief in Law - or Russian Mafia). Her homeworld was backwards when it came to their regard for women. Her father tried to send her to the Azzuriac Imperium as a trade concession at age 16, but she rebelled. Already well schooled despite her father's every effort to keep her uneducated she agreed to go if she was permitted to attend a university first and complete her studies before being forced to marry. She confessed an interest in veterinary medicine.


Her fiance, Johann von Grossenburg, refused any financial obligations until he was married, so a standoff resulted. While she attended college her family's fortune began to dwindle. Her father had been counting of the union to legitimize the family fortune. What he didn't know was that the baron was a bastard son of a Baron and was making do on a hush fund from his father. But the man had agreed to a sizable estate holding if he could secure a wife of fine upbringing and estate.


Kasey soon found her only avenue of escape was to flee to the frontiers of space. Enraged, the Baron followed. Already a skilled marksman and swordsman, the Baron has turned gunslinger in pursuit of his future wife. He'll kill any man who gets in his way and has taken very well to the Wild West ways of space. He will lie and cheat as needed, though he wants very much to appear honorable - so he has his limits.


In her travels Kasey has endured considerable hardships. But perhaps her hardest trial was when she was taken in by the Mesquite Apache that had colonized an independent world during the Exodus.
