- FIRST CONTACT TRANSCRIPT00:02:27 AFTER INVITATIONIt was too well-orchestrated, too meticulous for him to have had any hope of to end it. THE INVITATION, as veiled demons wailed it in riotous cacophony, had been received. Ecstasy dripped from each screech hissed and gurgled through smiling, gnashing teeth; staining his knuckles and seeping into his sleeves as he forced his fingers onto the wide maw of a fell sister. The hollow eyes that bore into him were vicious and mocking, unabasedly relishing his defeat even as he brutally tore its jaw from its hinges, ripping out a portion of its throat with its force. Guttural verses of praise and devotion echoed the square, the cultists reveling in the descent of their master as THE WOLF continued his exorcism across KAZAHITO PLAZA.
The man's face was grim as death, murdering demon after another with a quiet as terrible as his countenance, hid by a lycan mask splattered by the hot tar spilling from the mangled remains of his victims. What few of the DAWNSEEKERS were lured into the far reaches of both Kazakai and Hitomiki alike, leaving only the organization's most trusted seeker to attend to the anomaly in the heart of the city. And he failed.
Damn it, he failed.
The sky was cleaved in two, curdling blood red as lightning surged through furious clouds. Earthshattering were the cracks of thunder that announced the descent of THE FELL that he could barely hear himself think. It was only sheer instinct pulsing in his veins that urged him to tear faster, crush harder; the gnarls of every callus on his finger thrashing demonkind as every second trickled like hours. By the time the incantations around the plaza rescinded and he could use his contracts once more, he had already dealt with the last fell scholar.
Without pause, he began running.00:16:43 AFTER INVITATIONThe brilliant vermillion of his irises streaked a glowing ruby as one of his contracts took hold, guiding his sprint as the grotesque silhouettes of disgraced demons were outlined to him—threads he could practically see that laid bare even the subtlest of movement to THE WOLF. A sharp seam particularly caught his eye; the unbearable, vehement energy of a foul omen that matches the one pervading the ritual.
His pace was break-neck, cutting past intersections and leaping off roofs as he raced towards his target, peripherals glimpsing the rapid frames of demons seemingly congregating to the exact destination. Running through balcony railings, the cragged outsoles of his boots kissed terrace stone before leaping forward into the scarlet night, shattering brick and steel bar alike. As if on cue, a triad of veiled fell sisters eclipsed the moon as they leapt from their vantage, all twisted features and contorted bodies as they attempted to intercept the blonde's trajectory.
His lupine mask appeared more sinister as he flexed his hands, hairs rising from the build of his forearms as a snarl echoed in the brisk breeze. Prodigious sadistic arms manifested in the air, barbarous musculature coiled in white pelts. "My arms are yours." a voice growled low in his ear, before the seeker sweeped his own limbs, mimicking a grasping gesture that the apparition followed suit, its hideous paws swiping the assailing demons out from the air and into its heavy clutches: two on one, and one on the other.
THE WOLF found his footing with a resolute thud just as his summon pulverized its preys' skeletal structure, the snapping of bone and gushing of fulminated torsos harmonizing in chorus. Without looking back, he continued his pursuit, the demon sacrifice he allowed his contractor to feast on spurring him further.FIRST CONTACT PROPERSomething was wrong.
As he drew nearer, the ambushes began to wane. The parties of demons he tracked attempting to latch onto his leg all suddenly divorced themselves from their initial directions, instead all focusing their efforts towards THE FELL. This alone would have been innocuous were it not for the fact that the energy has changed. He wasn't the only one to notice the unmistakeable imprint of a human ensconced within the shroud of its original.
Someone had either made a successful contract, or they are being devoured.
His lungs burnt and his heart heaved as even he began to feel the fatigue take hold of his body. His legs grew numb in exertion, mindlessly carrying the seeker forward. One of his main contracts, which relied on the consumption of demonic blood, wore thin. It would only be a matter of time before it leeched off of his, but he would have been more than willing to pay the price. Finally panting, breath expelling through visible steam from the edges of his mask, he found himself at the precipice of a complex, overlooking an alleyway—a crowd of demons draped in fabrics accompanied by more unsightly brethren all cornering a pale woman.
A woman that he did not recognize to be a fellow seeker.
Alarm coursed through the tip of his feet to the end of his temples as he sought to tear away his wolven visor, almost recoiling at how oppressive the atmosphere was. Of all his prior hunts, even in the dispatching of elohim-classified sycophants, had he never felt such a malignant aura. "Fuckin' hell." he muttered, sighing as he reflexively tensed, preparing to drop into the fray. A civilian casualty on his watch would be a humiliation he can never swallow.
But just as he was about to dive from off his ledge, an urgent sixth sense locked every joint to be deathly still. There was no room for reason, even in the minute struggle that the man attempted to reason with his body; an overwhelming sense that if he were to be in the vicinity of that woman right now, he would be unceremoniously murdered along with the rest of the crowd. The porcelain of his damp features felt too cold in the midnight air, hair to the mercy of the winds as he could only watch what was to ensue.THE WOLF - MIETTE'S COURIERSNEIGHBORDescriptionA grade of typically non-obtrusive, docile demons that are neutral or otherwise agreeable to humans. Often poses little to no immediate risk. Aggression commonly exhibited after a provocation that offends and/or threatens them to varying degrees of severity. It is worth noting that groups of NEIGHBORS casually occupy certain sectors of Kazahito, who have acclimated to human customs and practices. It is advised to keep cordial, if not, friendly relations.

It is advised to prepare ordinance suitable in dealing with lethal resistance. Caution is recommended as while some may still be open to suggestion, such entities often act with malicious intent. An awakening may even be roused.
In the occasion of willing surrender or sufficient exorcism, one may enter a contract with a DISGRACE. Contracts, while possible, is highly discouraged. Inordinate mental fortitude is needed to safely negotiate with these entities, and even then, may demand unforeseeable and often fatal costs in exchange for its services. Presence has been decisively linked to a series of inexplicable disappearances and murders across Kazahito, culminating into THE INVITATION—a ritual that had brought about an elohim-classified demon into the city, purportedly the deity the sect has been worshipping.
Much of the faction remains inscrutable. Present data only corroborates the existence of a strange hierarchical structure within its ranks akin to religious bodies, and the affiliation of masses of demons in varying threat classes and grades. Recent activity has all led to orchestrated assaults on Ayane █████, whom is now registered as a person of interest.

READINGSKAZAHITOKAZAHITO is a sprawling city of lights and lanterns—a marriage of traditional aesthetics and technological pinnacles that sought to cradle the spiritual heritage of its people in the heights of human innovation. It is a self-governing state tucked within a secluded partition of the Japanese archipelago halved into two major regions: Kazakai and Hitomiki.
The history of its founding is veiled in mystery, only barely remembered by a few lineages occupying the more rural borders of the city. Of course, the scant recollection of the masses meant that there was nowhere to look but forward. There will always be those who choose to look back, however.DAWNSEEKERThe DAWNSEEKERS are a clandestine organization of specialized operatives tasked to oversee KAZAHITO. While surreptitiously recognized by the state as a commission charged with public safety concerning demonic activity, it is given rights as an autarchic syndicate that holds just as, if not more, authority than the government.
A DAWNSEEKER, or a seeker, is gifted with true sight—what is referred to among the fold as "open eyes". This blessing allows one to pierce scrutable reality and into the sixth dimension of which entities referred to as demons reside, and interact with them at will. Individuals, after due process, are granted this grace by senior seekers who, after beholding such view after a time, gain the ability to bestow it to others.SIXTH DIMENSIONThe SIXTH DIMENSION is the epithet for the home plane of inhuman entities called demons. While the actual realm itself has never been truly peered into, much less delved by a human, the term has since been used to refer to the in-between of the human world and the demonic world in which both humans and demons can simultaneously occupy; albeit the former is unable to perceive the latter.
Since the conception of the DAWNSEEKERS, copious attempts have been made to investigate the reason as to why KAZAHITO is the only space in isolation where the influence of demons is so prominent as to affect the tangible reality of humans. A leading theory is that the city is situated within the space of the dimensional veil that is the thinnest. Concerns have been raised on such an assertion, as it insinuates the potential of a TEARING in the fabric of reality that may condemn the world should it occur.
